@Tevon17 If that's true, then they need to learn how to do so properly. Had he said, "My tats still look like new," I'd have had no qualms. However, he stated, "my tattoos look exactly the same like the day I got them (and some maybe a little bit better)". That's very specific and bold language for hyperbole.

I just got a portraiture of my best friend who died in 2009 as my first tattoo at 38!
It took five hours of work and it's black and grey.
It is so well done and I tend to heal and not scar in general, so the piece is only slightly raised where the writing is. The majority of the piece is loaded with black and grey tones, but I have no inflammation at all.
It doesn't burn...I washed it the next day and I applied antibiotic ointment after washing it with antibacterial soap and water and patting it dry with a towel.
I added a different hemp lotion yesterday and today is day three
Looks great and I am beginning to experience the values and contrast that was hidden by the black, which is naturally starting to lighten up, as the ink sets.
Gonna wash it again and re-moisturize it again.
I am a tattoo artist and I am well educated in aftercare and I really just wanted to check out another individual's regimen to compare and contrast my knowledge.
I am very surprised that I have nothing but a little residual redness and raised writing linework, without any seepage, swelling and redness, scabbing, etc.
The ink is definitely inside of the dermal tissue and not going to fade out like crazy...I just have a killer immune system and heal up without scarring, in general.
I have had second degree burns that eventually healed up so well that it's absolutely impossible to tell that I was ever burned!
Thanks for validating my recommendations for my clients and have a great day everyone!

The only issue with putting lotion on damp skin is that it will make scabbing gooey and susceptible to infection. I'd say wait 10 minutes to dry and then add moisturizer.
I had second skin on for the first 24 hours, then replaced it with derm shield for 4 more days. And the peeling of my tattoo is so light I wouldn't notice except for washing it and adding moisturizer. I use vanicream.

Then let it dry out..let it breathe dont keep it wet with ointments or lotions .thats literly it.

Thanks for the great video. I just got a cover up tattoo on my leg 3 weeks ago and my artist used one of those hospital grade clear bandages and told me to keep it on for seven days. It was gross to look at and it just looked like a black blob and it was so hard to not take off. I took it off at day seven and washed it up like you said with the dove soap with lukewarm water in the tub with running water about three times and Pat dry with paper towel and around day 9 I started using Lubriderm as it would just feel like a sunburn and I had just a few dry flacks and that was it. Apparently the hospital grade bandages and the plasma make the tattoo heal quicker and I had hardly no itching just a little burning and the cream took that away.

Thank you for this video!! I just got my second tattoo 4 days ago and for some reason my anxiety has been going crazy over the healing/aftercare process. Idk why, I was pretty relaxed with my first tattoo, but this one I'm just so nervous about doing something wrong and ruining it. When you said "dont worry, you wont wipe away your tattoo" i literally let out a big sigh of relief 😂 my mind is convincing me of some pretty ridiculous stuff. I think part of the reason my anxiety is so high is because of the derm shield wrap and having to keep it on (at the instruction of my tattoo artist) for 5 days before i can take it off and wash it. Just seeing the plasma and ink under it makes me think its dirty and i want to wash it soooo bad! I know its perfectly sterile, but still. I just have to keep the wrap on rest of today and all day tomorrow and then I can take it off. Bought Tattoo Goo after care kit just to keep it simple and have all the products I need.

Thanks for this!! Could you do another video on Saniderm, but more specifically about sensitive skin and allergic reactions clients may have to Saniderm, due to the latex or for other reasons and other alternative adhesive they would use? i'm allgeric to sulfur/sulfates, which is found in latex. that will be something i definitely need to bring up when i get my first done.

Amazing video and amazing tattoos bro! Also subscribed just now! Just got one question, I got my newest tattoo on my outside Forearm and it has a lot of dark lines and a lot of ink. Now usually I do max about 3 days on Aquaphor but I still see in some areas it has a little bit of redness and other areas it has a small amount of scabbing/peeling. Do you think I should still use Aquaphor for one more day or should I move on to a fragrance free moisturizer? I got my Tattoo done Tuesday Night. Thanks!

I never realized how many things the inside of my arm touches before I got this tattoo 😂 and long sleeves aren't really practical in the middle of summer. When it’s starting to flake do you need to be carefull when putting ointment or moisturiser on to not pull of the flakes? Also if there’s a rash on part of the tattoo from the second skin should I avoid ointment on that part?

    • @justinkd
      @justinkd  Год назад +3

I’ve learned to take it alittle easier especially when it’s really peeling but that’s why I’ve adopted the dabbing method because you avoid really pushing everything and instead you kind of come from the top down and it just spreads a lot easier… Then once it’s all spread out, you gently go in and rub the rest in. And yeah I always avoid now putting anything on an area that has pimples or a rash. Usually I find it dries it out quicker and heals faster
