This is why I love old school rock and metal - it still has the blues influence to it and it gives it something extra thats lost in modern chugging and djent fests.
There WAS in fact a collaboration between all four of the big thrash bands on stage. I believe they performed a cover of "Am I evil" by diamondhead.

So do we ease Pink into it, or go chronalogically? 'Black City' or 'Unknown Knows?' Both are valid starting points, IMHO. And NO! 'Astronomy Domine' is not on the menu!

Megadeth is the best; Peace Sells..., So Far So Good So What!, Rust In Peace and Countdown To Extinction are unrivaled masterpieces. PinkMetalHead, you might get a similar kick out of Megadeth's cover of Nancy Sinatra's These Boats Were Made for Walking off their first album. As to Funk, not quite Heavy Metal but Van Halen's album Fair Warning is quite funky. I never thought of it that way until it was pointed out to me; Great bass lines.

This is why Peace Sells is my favourite album. It's so groovy while still being heavy, complex and melodic. Sure, Rist In Peace is a technical masterpiece and the songs are highly energetic, but there's qlmost no groove in it. Out of that album, I'd say Five Magics is the best songs.

Funny story, Joey Belladonna, the singer for Anthrax, lives near me, and he has a kick ass classic rock cover band that he plays drums and sings with when he's not playing with Anthrax (Chief Big Way). Just plays at regular bars and stuff around here. They played at one of my high school reunions a few years back too. Super nice guy, and talented as all hell.

One-Eye Yes, I think Jeff, Tom, and Kerry were dumb-asses when they refused to play with other Big 4 bands. One of a life-time experiences because they don't like Diamond Head. In that case I would have jammed to Justin Bieber song if needed. Only cool person in Slayer was Dave Lombardo. Well, Kerry King has always been a selfish moron who thinks he is better than anyone else and would like to see himself playing.
Never seen you be so responsive to a track, and it really makes a difference to see you groove n shit on this reaction. It could just be the song bringing it all out, but don't ever hold that shit back Pink! You seem to sometimes appear shy in reactions, don't say too much during the tracks (probably bc you're listening more intentively of these fuckass reaction channels out here) but right now you're gettin down and it's awesome! Megadeth understands the phonk, Dave Mustaine grew up on Mo Town acts.

That's the amazing thing about rock and metal. If someone likes music there's always something to enjoy, always something that can open the way. If they're more into hip hop, try rap metal, try RATM. If they're more into classic music, try Manowar's Sting of The Bumblebee or Nightwish. Good rock music has so many levels and facets that you certainly can find something for non-metal heads to enjoy. It's such a rich genre.

Megadeth is the best... Dave Mustaine wrote a lot of Metallicas first two albums... Anthrax admits that Dave influenced them... Kerry King was influenced by Dave as he was in megadeth for a very short time...sooo there ya have it..

Dave has proven to be much more of a pillar to Metal than Metallica. Much harder, much faster, so much evolution in their sound always getting better!
Metallica sold out and faded to black...no pun intended. I still listen and live Metallica also but..Dave should be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and has made such a major footprint.

Busting out all the jams this week! I like it 🤘. I’ve always liked Megadeth the best out of the big 4, but I believe Metallica’s first 4 albums make them deserving of the top spot, and Metallica is better live. Anthrax follows a close third, and due to the lack of variety which bores me, Slayer is a distant 4th.

The rhythm of this song is devastatingly good. That combination of bass, rhythm guitar and drum is unbelievable right until the end of the song. That lays a great foundation to the solos, which can be lengthened if they really want to.

Really awesome!!! Loved your shoulder bopping! In fact, this is the kind of music that I prefer to hear while racing in car racing video games like Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport, Need for Speed, etc.! Though those games do have songs of this kind of genre in their soundtrack, I have a lot more ideas for racing tunes in mind for them, including "Peace Sells" by Megadeth. Though I know of no racing games that have this song in it's music soundtrack, it can actually work in any of them! You see, if I could modify the soundtrack of my own racing games, including "Gran Turismo 3", this would be one of MANY songs I would add to the soundtrack!! BTW, I subscribed to you.

The Big 4 did a tour during Sonisphere and during Metallica's set, they invited all of the other members of the Big 4 on stage and did a cover of "Am I Evil" by british band Diamond Head which were are influence on all of the Big 4. You can find videos of it here on youtube.
The reason for the grooving lines was/were two of their original members were/was jazz trained.

two of the members of megadeth when that came out were actually fusion jazz muscians. there's where your funky bop comes in.
The intro to this song is what made me want to be a bass player. I remember being 6 or 7 and hearing this and not understanding how something could be so heavy.
That's Gar Samuelson's awesome battery on drums, Chris Poland's soulful leads, Dave Ellefson's rumbling bass lines, and of course Dave Mustaine's soul crushingly heavy riffs, ripping leads, and his ever present snarling vocal delivery !!!
This was the last album this line up would ever record together, and since Gar passed away in 1999 there is never any hope of a reunion, but we have the first two MegadetH albums recorded by these guys for posterity !!! The next line up with Chuck Behler on drums and Jeff Young only lasted one record (So far So good So what) but the subsequent line up is considered by most MegadetH purists (not myself, I place them second behind the first with Gar and Chris) to be the bands classic line up, with the awesome Nick Menza on drums and the amazing Marty Friedman on lead guitar, sadly as in the case of the peace sells line up they can never reform due to the passing away of the drummer, in this case Nick Menza who sadly passed away earlier this year.
REST IN PEACE GAR SAMUELSON AND NICK MENZA !!!
