I will never say 'You need to listen to .....' but I would highly recommend 'In My Darkest Hour' from their next album, SO Far, So Good, So What. I am pretty confident that will get a similar response. Such good transitions.....
The other tracks on this record that you should check out are Wake Up Dead, The Conjuring, Devil’s Island and the Epic Black Friday - Killer Thrash Metal - Just Insane Stuff - Megadeth Forever 🤘🤘
Like he says, “If there’s a new way, I’ll be the first in line.” He’s talking about how the whole system is broken and needs to be replaced with something better.
Great analysis, Tommy ! Dave Mustaine lifted the title from a Reader's Digest article (!) called "Peace Would Sell But No One Would Buy It" apparently . . . .
Enjoy more megadeth. Rust in peace, Countdown to extinction, Youthanasia and Cryptic writings are the 4 classic albums with there best line up. MUSTAINE MENZA ELLEFSON FRIEDMAN🔥🔥🤘🤘
This is not just my favorite Megadeth song, I'd say it's the first _true_ modern heavy metal song I'd ever really heard. Sure, my big brother based my rock education on Boston, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, et cetera, and MTV may have gotten Mötley Crüe to my eyes a while before (where the image of Nikki Sixx banging his head in the second verse of _Looks That Kill_ locked down my obsession with headbanging), but then one day, _Peace Sells_ came on, and... I was _home._ This was _my_ music. And this was _my_ anthem.
"If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line, but it better work this time." Very few philosophical statements ever hit me as hard as this one. It's been the fulcrum of a lot of the decisions I've made in my life.
My feelings about Dave Mustaine aren't complicated, but they are conflicted, and Megadeth's music was a major root of my personality for a long time.
I'm convinced that the only good thing about modern christianity is that it helps Dave stay sober. That what Metallica did to him was fucked up, but no more fucked up than how he left them little choice in the matter. That the feud... sorry, "The Feud" was fueled by bitter, empty pride, and stoked by the greedy music press for _so_ fucking long, yet in the end, they got together, they talked about it, and found they could forgive each other. That if you know metal fans that _still_ hang onto that fight and insist you _have_ to have an opinion on who was right and who was wrong, or insist you decide which band you think is better, you can go right ahead and cut them out of your circle, 'cause they're toxic conflict junkies, and they _will_ turn on you someday.
Dave Mustaine is an asshole, and I love him. _Peace Sells_ is arguably the most important metal song in my life.
Forgot how good this song is. Next album from them is great. So far, so good, so what, is a great album. Rust in piece , countdown to extinction, euthanasia, damn, I just list to Megadeth. Foreclosure of a dream, on and on
I'm not a huge fan of Megadeth, but this album and this song is still one of my favorites, they still sounded raw and punky and thrashy and is just class
Please, react to the last album, you could start from the song "Dystopia", or "Lying in State" or "Fatal illusion", I guess you would be amazed. Anyway, all the first 5 albums of Megadeth are spectacular imo.
The greatest thing ever was Dave Mustaine getting kicked out of Metallica, Megadeth are amazing you really need to listen to the album Rust in Peace.. phenomenally good. Hangar 18, Rust in Peace, Tornado of Souls (which includes one of the greatest guitar solos ever written) 🤘 great reaction!
Always avoid remasters with megadeth. Dave screwed with em too much & the originals are best. Dave plays rhythm & lead (astonishingly) and always has another amazing lead player. Tip: you can always tell Dave's leads because he never uses wa or tremolo. All that magic is directly from his fingertips. Dude, there is SO much megadeth you need to hear. So much. Pull me under is a great song too! Hope it wins.
If you ever want to see how's Dave play live or even react to it, please do "She Wolf from the Rude Awakening Live" -NOT from the recording album Cryptic Writing. I promise you : you'll be blown away Tips : do not preview. Watch and react. You can replay later 10x like I did 😁😁😁
Awsome reaction! Dave's singing is so low mixed at this recording compared to the base and drums it's hard to hear what he sing... But I think you're spot on about it.
Rust In Peace is generally regarded as their masterpiece album in part because there really isn't a bad song on it, but they do have plenty of other great ones on other albums and this is definitely one of them. Glad you enjoyed it. Try another pre-Rust In Piece hit called Wake Up Dead. Just don't do the video, it's kind of dumb honestly.
I am glad you're starting get around to some more Megadeth, I feel like you're first couple songs by them weren't great starts. Also to answer your question, yes there are two guitarists in Megadeth, Dave Mustaine is rhythm guitar and vocals, and I think Chris Poland was the lead guitarist at the time, but they both play solos. As for this song being about Megadeth getting picked at, that could be, but I'm not too sure. This is their second album, and their first album was kind of a revenge album directed at Metallica for firing Dave, which Mega got a lot of flack for. But, Dave has also commented on how he regrets that first album and that Peace Sells... But Who's Buying is their album that proved they weren't just a bunch of one offs and they were here to stay. So, it's entirely possible that this is directed at the public, but 99.99% of Megadeth songs are anti-government. Which means it's most likely that.
That’s interesting. This is my least favourite song from the album, and Good Mourning/Black Friday (the song you didn't like very much) is my favourite. But yes, this is a very good song, glad you enjoyed it!
Liked automatically before viewing, Tommy Lad. Anything with 'Angry' Dave is good for me :) Oh the Halcyon Days of the early to mid 80's.
Megadeth will definitely grow on you the more you listen, every song on Rust in Peace is incredible.
Good mourning/Black Friday you will love it
I will never say 'You need to listen to .....' but I would highly recommend 'In My Darkest Hour' from their next album, SO Far, So Good, So What. I am pretty confident that will get a similar response. Such good transitions.....
That song is great
Absolutely! My fav song by Megadeth. very epic feel.
Amazing how a song with 35 years or so still sounds great. And so sad that the lyrics still adapt to today's reality.
The other tracks on this record that you should check out are Wake Up Dead, The Conjuring, Devil’s Island and the Epic Black Friday - Killer Thrash Metal - Just Insane Stuff - Megadeth Forever 🤘🤘
The people in the 80's said that metalheads was idiots and without an politic opinion, and Megadeath wrote this song, in response to that
Pretty accurate, it was like stereotypes
@@mr.noseybonk2024 it was a response to the stereotypes that people say about metalhead
🤘Both Gar Samuelson on drums & Chris Poland guitar had jazz fusion backgrounds. They played on the 1st 2 albums hence the interesting nuances.🤘
🤘❤🇨🇦
I thank Metallica For kicking Dave out. That created 2 badass bands. That whole album is awesome.
definitely one of their GREAT songs, love your insight brother.... thats why i subbed... peace my friend...
This is the song you listen to just before you're about to pick a fight with the club's doorman.
🤘RIP GAR🤘
Mustaine"s leads are jagged and stab like ice picks, Chris Poland's are fluid and rounded. Great dichotomy.
wdym
Back in the day people were takin shots at all of us(metal heads) it was brutal for a while.
There are two lead guitar players in the band - That line up had Dave Mustaine and Chris Poland
So much Megadeth out there you will find many more songs you love I am sure :)
Great reaction 👍
Awesome 😁🤟
One of my favorite bands, keeping going down the rabbit hole, they have a shit ton of great content.

YES
What a song, back in the day. Still a banger though 👍
"She wolf rude awakening" live performance with video. Is a killer. Please react to that
One of my favorite albums ever. The lyrics are post-punk cynicism at it's best.
Forgot how good this song is. Next album from them is great. So far, so good, so what, is a great album. Rust in piece , countdown to extinction, euthanasia, damn, I just list to Megadeth. Foreclosure of a dream, on and on
Listen to Wake Up Dead, the opener of this album, one of the best metal songs you'll ever hear, with Mustaine's best solo.
I'm not a huge fan of Megadeth, but this album and this song is still one of my favorites, they still sounded raw and punky and thrashy and is just class

Tornado of souls and Holy wars are a must, if u already reacted to them my bad haha. Great vid btw

I agree I know many are drawn into two camps of either or ,but for me I love both bands so it doubled the amount of music for me to enjoy.
@@XA351GT The older Metallica albums are masterpieces.. Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are my personal favourites :)

I think he was homeless at the time couch surfing, he was very poor when he wrote this.
Catchy thrash
