      Naahhhuuhhhh ! Maybe the classic by exodus , toxic waltz ? Describes the pit . There's just so many to choose from !!

      67 cuda That's not even the best Exodus song

    • @67cuda38
      @67cuda38 7 лет назад

      Maybe not, but it's about the mosh pit, and if you've never been to a show, it describes what to do, without reaching out to the pre-80's punk rock world, right ?? Besides, that's one of those songs you just can't get out of your head if you get the meaning . Have you ever fell on a vicious, crowded mosh floor ??! Just try and get back up !!! I've seen a bunch of ambulance/stretcher shows . The pit is a friendly free-fire zone !!!

    • @67cuda38
      @67cuda38 7 лет назад

      The metal pit, and punk pit are two different animals. Punks want pain, and to cause it. Metal there's a comradery !

    • @67cuda38
      @67cuda38 7 лет назад

      The greatest thrash song, not megadeath for sure ! Megadeath is just high profile, that's all ! I was a part of that whole, death, thrash scene. I performed at the same shows back in the 80's, and 90's. Megadeath may never have been, if metalica hadn't picked up on what was going on in Europe at the time, played other bands songs that Americans weren't aware of, and had their big break up. In that order. Dave wasn't that good of a musician with metalica. He had to recreate himself, and grow as a musician first. Listen to their progress as time went on. The L.A. scene was way different back then, and nirvana had to ruin everything with their junkie/transient music, and look. Sunset strip went from awesome, to skid row ! It never recovered !!!

    Dave Mustaine is a better guitar player than he is a singer. There so many much beter singers out there, BUT: His delivery is on the point. The way he delivers the lyrics, the way he's playing around, sometimes sounding menacing, sometimes sounding vulnerable, that is what makes him a great great front man and metal vocalist

    • @Kelsie154
      @Kelsie154 6 лет назад +12

      His vocals are perfect for Megadeth, even if he isn't the best singer out there.
      If he would've kept searching for a frontman, instead of just saying "fuck it", and doing it himself, I honestly don't think the band would've gotten as big as it did.

    • @saschaschneider6355
      @saschaschneider6355 6 лет назад +4

      Agreed, it helps that he writes most of the stuff himself for himself. That makes it fit like a glove. Bruce Dickinson's solo albums that are written by him for himself sound amazing for the same reason - it's tailor made.

    • @OberDesiah
      @OberDesiah 6 лет назад +8

      Agree. He refuse to call himself a singer; he is a vocalist.
      Anyway, his voice is one of them love/hate-things. I love the band, and I can't think of any other voice that would make Megadeth better. There is something about the genuinely raw, angry, spitting attitude in his voice that is just right.

    I love the whole "Rust in Peace" album. Marty Friedman used a lot of exotic scales in his solos, and Mustaine stuck to classic rock (he wasn't as theoretical or precise, but wonderfully raw). Both guys' playing complemented each other in a great album.

    • @scottrance2818
      @scottrance2818 7 лет назад +3

      I've been following megadeth since'86 my personal opinion. I never understood why some hold Tornado of souls in such high regard. Holy Wars is the superior songs out of the two in my opinion. Tornado is ok I just prefer Holy Wars myself. But if I had to pick from that album it would be Hanger 18 for sure there's hooks all over that tune that's hard to get out of your head.

    • @blakfloyd
      @blakfloyd 7 лет назад +4

      Tornado gets its love because it has a slightly higher level of energy than any other song on RIP, a great intro that really sets the stage nicely for what the song's all about, and amidst all the proggish tendencies of the album it seems to be the most focused song and has probably the best Megadeth solo ever.

    • @scottrance2818
      @scottrance2818 7 лет назад +2

      I think Hanger 18 has better solos than tornado does, christ you got like 4 or 5 different solos I think in Hanger to pick from . I think Kiko's solos in Dystopia are probably the best and that's not a slam to Friedman ,Poland or anyone else. Kiko is just on another level . His technique is insane. I suspect the flamenco influence in his playing has a lot to do with it. Generally Flamenco players have incredible technique.

      it Is epic on its own right , I mean hangar 18 solo is epic not only because it is complicated and bla bla marty said himself it was the first solo he played that he felt that go along with the song musically and thematically. It really sound like an alien thing very weird and strange. On the other hand , tornado of souls solo is sweet and emotional but it doesnt lack any piece of complexity aswell. Its marty trademark.

      PS. Listen to all Megadeth.. You will love it all.. They have 15 albums to date.. The rest of this album (Rust in Peace) is amazing! The song after this is called Hanger 18.. If you liked the instrumental parts in this you will be blown away by that song and the rest of the album.. Tornado of Souls is another highlight from that album... But seriously I can't stress enough their entire catalogue is amazing.

      "Holy Wars" is a hidden message to Gene Simmons. It says Israel and Gene Simmons was born in Israel. Dave Mustaine knew that Gene Simmons might make a "holy war" about the devil horns. He is genius. He sees in the future.

    Thank you for the shout out! Happy to see that you are researching the band, sign of a true fan! Dave Mustaine is a technical genius, has created some of the most amazing riffs in metal and music history. Bit of trivia - he used to be the lead guitarist for Metallica before they kicked him from the band in 83' and replaced him with current lead guitarist Kirk Hammet! Half the riffs on Metallica's debut album were written by him and some of the riffs were so difficult that even Kirk had trouble playing them!

    Story of how the song was written:
    Megadeth was on tour in Antrim, Northern Ireland, on May 11, 1988. This was back when Dave was still a heavy drinker, so this incident was fueled by a few too many Guinness beers.
    A fan in the audience threw a British pound onstage hitting Mustaine and his guitar. After putting his axe down and making a speech which he thought was pro-Ireland as a whole, Mustaine mentioned “the cause” not knowing this was a term which referenced the IRA. Suddenly, the half-Protestant, half-Catholic crowd split in half and police were called in to keep the peace.
    Waking up the next morning, Mustaine had no collection of what had occured, thanks to a few too many Guinness’. It was bassist David Ellefson’s unfortunate duty to inform Mustaine they had been escorted out of Northern Ireland in a bulletproof bus. This incident inspired Mustaine to pen the phenomenal, “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due,” one of the most perfect thrash songs in the genre’s rich history.

    some of the dirtiest, dustiest stomping pits I've ever been in were due to this album, and this band, Take No Prisoners with tens of thousands of psychotic metalheads, bloodied battered and bruised for weeks at a time. Picture this, you're bleeding, your right knees busted to the point you can barely stand, you're being pummeled by the bodies of others in the pit, it's dark out, all you see is a cloud of smoke and bodies flying around and up through the haze and smog you see stage lights swirling around into the crowd and Dave's up on stage yelling...TAKE NO PRISONERS!!!! the whole crowd goes "Take no shit!!!" One of the best pits I can recall

    i've spent my last 2 nights watching you react to the music that i grew up listening to. when i saw your reaction to metallica - orion, a song that means so much to me i've requested it be played at my own funeral, and to see you moved to tears by a song that moves me so much was an amazing thing to witness. you had me in tears as well and i just had to subscribe to your channel. i've thought about it a lot and i would love to see your reaction to a video by one of my favorite bands Dog Fashion Disco. i think you will like them because they incorporate a lot of different types of music into their metal, such as punk, jazz, blues, thrash, ska, and so much more. yes, even disco! the singer has such a wide vocal range he can go from a haunting whisper, to beautiful falsetto singing, to classic rock style, to death metal growls. their music is so well put together yet at the same time so energetic and frantic. it literally embodies the word insanity. i really hope you give them a listen, you have such a beautiful personality and such an open mind i know you will love them as much as i do. here's a link to a particularly crazy video. hope you like it. ruclips.net/video/8V2BIJ3PED8/видео.html. ps - i play in a band too and hope you check out some of the videos of us playing on my channel sometime if you have a chance. PINK NATION!

    I just wanna recommend, in most of metal music, the studio version. There are some real good ones live, but studio are more recommended!
    If you ever read this comment, react to Hook in mouth, In my darkest hour, or even Rattle head by Megadeth. I notice that lot of people always looking for a reaction of the same song reaction by others. So there you have it! I'm old school and I like the youth react to my teenage music, which prevails to the present times

      I have to say, megadeath live..... you might as well kick in a cd. Dave never leaves his mark ! I always hated that ! A live show is supposed to reach out, and create a party mode, not just play what's on your album ! It's supposed to be a spectacle, and draw in the crowd as part of the show. Pantera were truly the best band I ever saw for that, period, hands down genius at it ! If you weren't there for the first 3 tours, you'll never truly understand what I'm talking about. Sorry, but it's true. Not even the cameras could pick up on the overwhelming feel of those shows !!!

    • @Lizard-of-Oz
      @Lizard-of-Oz 7 лет назад +1

      67 cuda Hello! There are all kinds of crowds and as for me as crowd, I saw Megadeth at the Rust in peace tour. They were sharing tour with Slayer, Anthrax, and Alice in chains. Then with Sepultura and Cannibal corpse. We the crowd never really paid attention on what Dave Mustaine was up to. All of this was in 1991 .
      On the other hand though! Metallica did put a show, but me and a friend walked out of the concert, because it was a retarded show! We expected Metallica to play music. They'd played a medley of their greatest songs of all time. That was the lamest show of a metal band I've ever attended to.
      I went to some concerts in my time and in my opinion and for what I experience there... it was just the expectative of seen your favorite bands play live.
      Memorable shows: Live after death tour Iron Maiden.
      Let there be rock live in Paris AC/DC
      Led Zeppelin The Song Remains the Same
      Pictures at an exhibition Emerson Lake and Palmer(I wasn't there on neither one, but I wish I was)

      Emt5330, Dave’s not that good. Only pop metal people would think that way. Now, if he were to play like chuck schuldiner, I could see that. Some people just aren’t great with stage presence. Dave hasn’t moved on stage since the 80’s, but didn’t start out a looming zombie.

    I think something that would be beneficial to your metal studies would be to watch the documentary "metal: a headbangers journey"....one of the most striking and definitive things about metal is the many genres that it has.....every band falls into a category and understanding these categories can help you understand the essence of each band
