That's why I'm a metalhead. It's not just because it sounds angry and has awesome heavy instrumentation to it with unique vocals but it's about the message it is sending. Heavy metal allows you to vent your frustrations and have deep meaning behind it.
Something I learned recently is that Dave originally had this as a 7 or 8 minute song. I think it was the drummer that said no man we need to cut it back. Dave agreed and metal/thrash history was made. One of the most iconic songs of the original thrash era. Some people don't like Dave's voice, but it makes Megadeth. The best thing that ever happened to metal/thrash was Dave getting booted from Metallica. Imagine not having the collection of Megadeth songs we have that will live forever.
Megadeth is a rabbit hole should come with a warning label for potential to melt your brain. Drummer on this track was Gar Samuelson. He was a beast. (RIP) Next has to be Holy Wars. Gonna have a lot to say about that one. 😂

I always thought that, taken in their entirety, the lyrics of this song were really cool. To be honest, however, I never did and to this day still do not understood what any of those cool verses had to do with that really cool chorus. You nailed the meaning of the chorus, but the verses, while very interesting, are not about war or peace or who's buying either one.
THRASH!!!!!! there are a LOT of really good Megadeth bangers...even as recent as 2022 "We'll Be Back"!!! hard to know where to start with these brothers!!!! but this was a perfect place!

Dave Mustaine was a founding member of Metallica, but the band had a falling out with him and he was kicked out. He then formed Megadeth.
