To be honest, if she didn't hide all of these stones, everything would just be the same. Because Jayce and Viktor would start doing experiments on these and we'd just get the same exact events.

Is no one going to mention that the scene was animated at 4 Frames per Second. The exact amount of time Ekko can rewind!? It's so beautiful. Absolutely stellar work. Edit: Yes I'm aware 4FPS doesn't equal 4 Seconds, but the parallels are clear, I may have worded it wrongly. Ultimately, the intention is to show that Ekko savors every single second. The boy who "makes every second count" (as stated in his original trailer) has an entire scene animated in 4 Frames per Second in order to convey the idea that he wants to live out this moment forever. Rewind it if he must / could, savor every single second, never escape this reality he's currently in. It's the very reason the scene which talks about him needing to "sacrifice" something to make a leap comes directly after and is shot PARALLEL to the dance scene. He simply doesn't want the moment to stop. My apologies if people got confused!

They really showed us that music is an universal vehicle and can convey a lot of emotions and fit in a lot of different scenes, action, romance... such a great OST.
Arcane did it. They made a very diverse story that is also so good the usual haters won't have much to complain about. Arcane is modern storytelling done masterfully.

"Oh.... look who it is... the boy saviour" I can see why they saved Ekko for the final act. Such a great arc for him and Alternate Powder. One of the best episode in S2 by far.
It started and ended with Ekko. He was the one who gave them the tip on hextech goodies in that Piltover apartment in episode 1. Then he saved everyone in the final episode.

I was so happy to see her live a normal life, healthy, loved and cared for! I couldn't stop crying, she's so dear to me. This episode was such a breather.

They elude to her being alive when Cait's looking at the hexgate tunnels' blueprints at the end and the final shot of the flying ship which was foreshadowed in the very beginning by jinx, plus "The END" at the end is shown in her style. There's also a pink streak leaving right before the blast.
This song already is already fire but the fact that the first time I heard it was while watching a show based around a game and champions we came to love makes it that much more of a master piece . Ekko and Jinx had a special moment and a brilliant song to back it up. Bravo Stromae and Pomme!

Episode 7 is saved only by Jace's periodic suffering in the post-apocalypse. The storylines are jumping and not really disclosed, and they decided to spend precious timekeeping on a sugary teenage love story from American comedies in a whole series.
I am a mid-aged man, with wife and kids. It's been nearly a decade I married my wife; before that we were a love birds like this scene. But after our marriage we slowly entered our individual lives, more busy working than with together, distance were growing. Then the kids were born. We still love each other, but feels like there is a vast distance between us. This song, this scene made me cry, made me go back in time where we still were some teenage love birds. It gave me a huge burst of passion to stand before my wife and before kissing tell her like Ekko, "Can we just pretend like it's the first time?"
i feel you on that one, not as deep tho'. when i was in highschool i've danced with a girl i like romanticly for the first time, and for me, everything is the same when i look back, the way i remember it it is the same as this scene, slow, sluggysh and deep. I don't know how they did this, but they managed to capture real feelings true a screen of a render, wich for me is true art. this song is heavily emotional, because while the beat is joyfull, the scene is gut wrenching and so are the lyrics. Stromae never fails to do this conflicted emotions between caused bt the instrumental and the meaning of his songs
The show writers are genius. Has anyone else noticed that this takes place on S2 Ep7 and a similar episode of Ekko and Powder occurs on S1 Ep7? With the dance being a parallel for the flashbacks seen during their fight scene. Absolutely genius

yeah, i believe this scene is a parallel to both their bridge fight and the "end the cycle" one which makes a pretty obvious reference to this one maybe also the scenes we got from the enemy video where both ekko and powder where doing stuff together we never actually got to see in the actual show

The fact that the only clear part is “Je t’aime” makes it even sadder. The second part could be “Je t’attends”, “Je te hais” or “Je te quitte” that doesn’t change the first part which shows that despite everything love is still here…
I'm glad to know there's an alternate universe where the boys are alive, Silco and Vander made peace, Powder and Ekko are together and Zaun is thriving. I pick this universe, as much as I like Vi. She would pick it too, if only she knew. This episode was really cathartic for me.
Vi was ready to give up her chance at a normal life before vander stepped in… if she could have seen where they were in this episode, she would have done everything in her power to make sure she died in that explosion

Thinking about it, If Vi died in that explosion that that would mean Jayce would have gone to prison because his illegal experiments killed someone and Victor probably be dead from his sickness. However, Those two probably would have agreed to accept this timeline since its seems better for everyone.

Jayce probably tested fall damage off that building, Viktor succumb to his illness, and now that Powder realizes hextech is a thing due to Ekko and Heimer, hextech is going to get invented at some point with Ekko and Powder being the Jayce and Viktor of that timeline. It's very subtle but shit's fucked.
The level of resolve ekko has to give up everything he ever wanted just to save everyone else is crazy. He sacrificed his happy ending with powder, the girl he'd loved since childhood, to give everyone else a chance at a happy ending and although he succeeded, in the end, he lost everything in exchange, is all alone, and noone will ever know just what he sacrificed for all of them. Ekko is the true definition of a hero. Also, safe to assume we'll definitely be getting more official timebomb content from now on. Arcane just locked down Ekko&Jinx as one of their top pairings.
Just like Ambessa mentioned Sacrifice being the fourth symbol, we've seen a lot of sacrifices been made in the last episode. Ekko sacrificed his alternative happy future, Jinx sacrificed herself to save her sister, Jayce and Viktor became martyrs desintegrated by Arcane...

I keep repeating this song over and over again. I think the dance scene is the most beautiful scene in Act 3. For Ekko, maybe this is the happiest moment in his life.
I don't know if me getting older is making me more emotional, but this episode and this song did something to me. I rarely tear up for a movie or a TV show, but just thinking about Ekko hugging Benzo or Ekko and Powder dancing just makes me instantly teary eyed. Ekko didn't get too much screen time, but after everything, he is the main character of Arcane in my eyes.
Deserved way more screen time. His arc on heroism and the use of time is poignant and meaningful and incorporates his time ability beautifully. His personality is charismatic and attention-grabbing on screen. His character motivations are admirable and grounded-one of the few to recognize the gravity of Piltover’s oppression towards Zaun and is geared towards people-oriented solutions instead of mindless war. His character design is amazing. His dynamic with Jinx barely got any screentime but was utterly captivating. He has the best two scenes in the series. Would’ve definitely preferred him to have more screentime over characters like Caitlyn. Wish he was the MC too.

It shocked me as much as Cobb's scene in Interstellar, where he sees his daughter's missed recordings, growing up and completely missing out on her life. Thoose scenes will pursue me all my life. The writing of Jinx's character is truly incredible. Her writing goes much further than a simple "Harley Quinn". And Fortiche managed to give her emotions in her face. Like all the other characters.
I wish people could understand the lyrics, which give an even deeper meaning to the scene. The song is about Ekko and Alternate Powder's feelings for each other. There are references to Ekko's personality and inner conflicts ("Don't look back, the past that follows you makes war") and his confused feelings for Jinx after everything she did, which explain why he spared her life on the bridge ("My best enemy is you", "You're the best thing that happened to me, but also the worst thing that happened to me", "You know what they say: be close to your dearest friends but also even closer to your opponents"). It also explains Alternate Powder's bittersweet love for him. ("What does your name hurt me when it hides right here in space", which references the nickname "Spaceboy" she gave him in this ep, "Which emotion is it, hate or sweetness ?"). Finally, the "I love you, I'm leaving you" heard throughout the song represent the fact that Ekko loves Powder/Jinx but must abandon that love, both by leaving Alternate Powder who shares his feelings behind and by having to forget his feelings for the Jinx of the current timeline which is an obviously impossible, unrequited love

I hope we get to see more of Jinx and Ekko in future projects. The scene where Caitlyn inspects Jinx's monkey bomb and the vents where she presumably died felt like a not so subtle hint that she might have actually survived. Also there was the air ship at the end that Jinx wanted to fly.
The way I jumped when I heard Stromae and THEN Pomme in this scene is embarrassing. To hear two of my top favourite modern French artists in one of my favourite series ever was utterly amazing
This hits really hard after watching bridge scene in Season 1 Ep 7... Ekko and Powder really deserves all this happiness in this universe instead of suffering at the hands of fate

Spoiler At least it’s confirmed that there are multiple timelines and universes. So that gives me comfort that deceased characters can be seen again in future adaptations.

They looked at each other with so much love that it hurt. The longing hurt, what could have been hurt, knowing that ekko was giving up everything he had ever dreamed of to do the right thing
The idea to have Ekko travel to a universe where Jinx is sane and "good" was a genius move by Arcane. It made losing Jinx way more tragic, knowing what could have been.
Followed by probably the most beautiful end meningful sentence in the whole show "I used to dream the undercity could be like this, but somewhere I got confused by all the ways it wasn't. I gave up on it, I gave up on you."

He could've stayed there forever, hiemerdinger had grabbed the second chance at life with both hands and lived a happy life playing music and enjoying a whimsical life. He didn't have to go back. No one knew he was imposter. No one from his world remembered. But he did. Then he saved his world while putting his life in danger. Lost "Jinx" after saving the world anyways.
This has to be one of the best episodes of the entire show. Not only that, but it felt necessary for both the show and the audience. We needed this. The episode was just so…..heartwarming yet haunting as it showed what Jayce went through and what he experienced. The parallels were fantastic. But obviously the standout was just seeing what could have been and how things played out in another timeline. Having Ekko witness this different universe and seeing him live his dream, seeing Zaun and Piltover united and thriving, having peace etc. Yes Vi was gone in that universe, but I think even she would have accepted that fate as it meant everything would be ok. I absolutely loved Ekko and Powder. It was just so unbelievably sweet, heartwarming, and touching. Chemistry was lovely and it was just so special seeing these two together, in love and happy. Even though Ekko wanted to stay, he knew he had to go back to fight and make things right. But he left his mark on Powder. Even though this wasn’t the main timeline, it is extremely comforting to know that somewhere out there Ekko and Powder are happily together and in love, and everything is ok. This was needed and I loved it.
The saddest part about Ekko's ''perfect timeline'' is that the real Vi would sacrifice herself without a second thought to make it happen. Vander, Powder, whatstheirface ( their childhood friends ), Zaum and Piltover living in pretty much perfect harmony. Also the song title means " My 'number one'/best enemy " in French. :(
@@mortis2539 The explosion when they rob Jayce’s house kills Vi. Either Jayce also dies in the explosion or Hextech is otherwise deemed too dangerous, but either way Hextech is never developed.
@@guccifer764 my theory after a child died the council deems hextech to dangerous and outlawed its developement. Jayce maybe even got exiled because even in the "original" timeline where nobody got hurt the council was inches from exiling him.

I cant get enough of this moment and song, its got a strangle hold on me...Ekko is a better man than me, sacrificed his own happiness to save his world.
One of the most gentle and impressive scenes I have ever heard. It looks so gentle and fitting to the context when combined with the frame rate of only 4 frames/second... Riot really knows how to captivate the viewers.
Didn't expect to hear Stromae in the show - recognised his voice in a half second. Sat forward in my seat and exclaimed at the screen. All my friends I was watching with were confused as Stromae isn't well known in Australia. An amazing song both itself and within the context of the scene and it was so great to see a French song included to tie it back to Fortiche.
i appreciate this song for elevating a tragic romance that he must leave behind. it speaks volumes about how love is and i relate a lot to that. in just one moment, he wants to slow it down to stay in that one moment forever with powder. The slowing down makes the scene way sadder, as we reealize how badly ekko wants to stay. The real "in another life" ending to a romance.
Watching Ekko fall in love with Powder/Jinx all over again, is just, heartbreaking. When I went into season 2, I didnt expect this at all, but this is what I needed most. This scene is ethereal, and pure, and magical. So much dopamine everywhere, no matter how many times I watch it I alway end up getting goosebumps and crying, but happy crying, Ekko finally got what he deserved, even if it was for a second. Im filled with sadness, but happy and beautiful sadness, knowing that im crying bc I loved it so much. I LIKE FEELING LIKE THIS, IT LETS ME KNOW THAT THERE ARE THINGS TO LIVE FOR, AND EVERYONE FINDS THEIR OWN ONES. 💙💙💗💗
i don't see a lot of people mentioning it, but the line "plutôt qu'être seul, mieux vaut être mal accompagné" (rather than being alone, it's better to be badly accompanied) is a reference to his other song "Papaoutai" where he says "Bien mieux qu'être mal accompagné" (much better than being badly accompanied) edit: as the comments said, i was wrong, it's an inversion of the proverb "meiux vaut être seul que mal accompagné"

3 years and 7 episodes ago the fight scene on the bridge used to be one my favorite moments, if not the best, of season 1 - 3 years and 7 episodes later you made me cry again, but different... cannot describe what is going on in me ever since I saw this show - ARCANE is one single emotion through and through with so many memorable moments in every single episode - THANK YOU so much for showing the world that you can create something really really really SPECIAL if you have the courage, the passion and the vision to do so! Is no one going to mention that the scene was animated at 4 Frames per Second. The exact amount of time Ekko can rewind!? It's so beautiful. Absolutely stellar work.
Edit: Yes I'm aware 4FPS doesn't equal 4 Seconds, but the parallels are clear, I may have worded it wrongly.
Ultimately, the intention is to show that Ekko savors every single second. The boy who "makes every second count" (as stated in his original trailer) has an entire scene animated in 4 Frames per Second in order to convey the idea that he wants to live out this moment forever. Rewind it if he must / could, savor every single second, never escape this reality he's currently in. It's the very reason the scene which talks about him needing to "sacrifice" something to make a leap comes directly after and is shot PARALLEL to the dance scene. He simply doesn't want the moment to stop.

They really showed us that music is an universal vehicle and can convey a lot of emotions and fit in a lot of different scenes, action, romance... such a great OST.

They elude to her being alive when Cait's looking at the hexgate tunnels' blueprints at the end and the final shot of the flying ship which was foreshadowed in the very beginning by jinx, plus "The END" at the end is shown in her style. There's also a pink streak leaving right before the blast.
This song already is already fire but the fact that the first time I heard it was while watching a show based around a game and champions we came to love makes it that much more of a master piece . Ekko and Jinx had a special moment and a brilliant song to back it up. Bravo Stromae and Pomme!

@@Python0904 The second season suffers from a lack of timing. But the creators decided to make a whole unnecessary episode! An absurd love story in a hideously beautiful and utopian world. Episode 7 is saved only by Jace's periodic suffering in the post-apocalypse.
The storylines are jumping and not really disclosed, and they decided to spend precious timekeeping on a sugary teenage love story from American comedies in a whole series.
LOSING my mind at Stromae being featured on the Arcane soundtrack. One of my all-time favourite artists in one of my all-time favourite series!

I am a mid-aged man, with wife and kids. It's been nearly a decade I married my wife; before that we were a love birds like this scene. But after our marriage we slowly entered our individual lives, more busy working than with together, distance were growing. Then the kids were born. We still love each other, but feels like there is a vast distance between us. This song, this scene made me cry, made me go back in time where we still were some teenage love birds. I'm glad to know there's an alternate universe where the boys are alive, Silco and Vander made peace, Powder and Ekko are together and Zaun is thriving. I pick this universe, as much as I like Vi. She would pick it too, if only she knew. This episode was really cathartic for me.
Vi was ready to give up her chance at a normal life before vander stepped in… if she could have seen where they were in this episode, she would have done everything in her power to make sure she died in that explosion

I don't know if me getting older is making me more emotional, but this episode and this song did something to me. I rarely tear up for a movie or a TV show, but just thinking about Ekko hugging Benzo or Ekko and Powder dancing just makes me instantly teary eyed. Ekko didn't get too much screen time, but after everything, he is the main character of Arcane in my eyes.
Deserved way more screen time. His arc on heroism and the use of time is poignant and meaningful and incorporates his time ability beautifully. His personality is charismatic and attention-grabbing on screen. His character motivations are admirable and grounded-one of the few to recognize the gravity of Piltover’s oppression towards Zaun and is geared towards people-oriented solutions instead of mindless war. His character design is amazing. His dynamic with Jinx barely got any screentime but was utterly captivating. He has the best two scenes in the series. Would’ve definitely preferred him to have more screentime over characters like Caitlyn. Wish he was the MC too.

The writing of Jinx's character is truly incredible. Her writing goes much further than a simple "Harley Quinn". And Fortiche managed to give her emotions in her face. Like all the other characters.

It also explains Alternate Powder's bittersweet love for him. ("What does your name hurt me when it hides right here in space", which references the nickname "Spaceboy" she gave him in this ep, "Which emotion is it, hate or sweetness ?"). Finally, the "I love you, I'm leaving you" heard throughout the song represent the fact that Ekko loves Powder/Jinx but must abandon that love, both by leaving Alternate Powder who shares his feelings behind and by having to forget his feelings for the Jinx of the current timeline which is an obviously impossible, unrequited love

I hope we get to see more of Jinx and Ekko in future projects. The scene where Caitlyn inspects Jinx's monkey bomb and the vents where she presumably died felt like a not so subtle hint that she might have actually survived. Also there was the air ship at the end that Jinx wanted to fly.

This episode may be one of my favorite episodes of television. What a masterpiece of a series
This romantic scene felt much more powerful than the others, I felt like the others were more based on lust, whereas this one was based on love.
They looked at each other with so much love that it hurt. The longing hurt, what could have been hurt, knowing that ekko was giving up everything he had ever dreamed of to do the right thing

The idea to have Ekko travel to a universe where Jinx is sane and "good" was a genius move by Arcane. It made losing Jinx way more tragic, knowing what could have been.
Followed by probably the most beautiful end meningful sentence in the whole show "I used to dream the undercity could be like this, but somewhere I got confused by all the ways it wasn't. I gave up on it, I gave up on you."
This scene made me feel things i never quite felt before a mixture of happiness, sadness and melancholy

Arcane really proves how heartbreaking alternate universes can be when done right, episode 7 was beautiful.
The blurry effect on the dance is soo perfect, reflects am emotional state, like love is overflowing like a drug and Ekko does not understand. He's just surfing in the best moment of he's life.

This has to be one of the best episodes of the entire show. Not only that, but it felt necessary for both the show and the audience. We needed this. The episode was just so…..heartwarming yet haunting as it showed what Jayce went through and what he experienced. The parallels were fantastic. But obviously the standout was just seeing what could have been and how things played out in another timeline. Having Ekko witness this different universe and seeing him live his dream, seeing Zaun and Piltover united and thriving, having peace etc. Yes Vi was gone in that universe, but I think even she would have accepted that fate as it meant everything would be ok.
I absolutely loved Ekko and Powder. It was just so unbelievably sweet, heartwarming, and touching. Chemistry was lovely and it was just so special seeing these two together, in love and happy. Even though Ekko wanted to stay, he knew he had to go back to fight and make things right. But he left his mark on Powder. Even though this wasn’t the main timeline, it is extremely comforting to know that somewhere out there Ekko and Powder are happily together and in love, and everything is ok. This was needed and I loved it.
This was the best episode of Arcane for me.
The saddest part about Ekko's ''perfect timeline'' is that the real Vi would sacrifice herself without a second thought to make it happen. Vander, Powder, whatstheirface ( their childhood friends ), Zaum and Piltover living in pretty much perfect harmony.
Also the song title means " My 'number one'/best enemy " in French.

i appreciate this song for elevating a tragic romance that he must leave behind. it speaks volumes about how love is and i relate a lot to that. in just one moment, he wants to slow it down to stay in that one moment forever with powder. The slowing down makes the scene way sadder, as we reealize how badly ekko wants to stay. The real "in another life" ending to a romance.
Watching Ekko fall in love with Powder/Jinx all over again, is just, heartbreaking. When I went into season 2, I didnt expect this at all, but this is what I needed most. This scene is ethereal, and pure, and magical. So much dopamine everywhere, no matter how many times I watch it I alway end up getting goosebumps and crying, but happy crying, Ekko finally got what he deserved, even if it was for a second. Im filled with sadness, but happy and beautiful sadness, knowing that im crying bc I loved it so much. I LIKE FEELING LIKE THIS, IT LETS ME KNOW THAT THERE ARE THINGS TO LIVE FOR, AND EVERYONE FINDS THEIR OWN ONES. 💙💙💗💗

3 years and 7 episodes ago the fight scene on the bridge used to be one my favorite moments, if not the best, of season 1 - 3 years and 7 episodes later you made me cry again, but different... cannot describe what is going on in me ever since I saw this show - ARCANE is one single emotion through and through with so many memorable moments in every single episode - THANK YOU so much for showing the world that you can create something really really really SPECIAL if you have the courage, the passion and the vision to do so!
