Jack Randall 502, set the world afire, liar, hook in mouth, into the lungs of hell, set the world afire, in my darkest hour, marry Jane. This album had some gems!
Yeaaa.. I forgot to mention that. That’s actually my favorite part. I’ve listened to this song about ten times now but I love when Dave rolls words off his tongue while singing. I’ve noticed that he only does this in his older songs
The Adventures of TNT must be his Sex Pistols influence. Johnny Rotten had a habit of rolling r’s and Dave did a cover of Anarchy in the UK off their So Far So Good So What album
@@Anthony-nk4ky exactly I been saying the same. He was influence by punk when it comes to his singing. Lot of people don't realize that so they calls him an awful singer.
An even darker version of an angry Dave song is Look Who's Talking, a bonus track on Dystopia. My favorite part - you'll never be safe in the shadows. I'll be waiting in the dark. With a shovel and a bag full of lime. I'll say the devil made me do it. Dark.
Exodus made it work with verbal razors and overkill made it work with birth of tension (funny how they all have diss esque tracks on their early albums), but I always say that Dave mustaine of megadeth, Steve zetro of exodus, and Bobby blitz of overkill are the undisputed goblin trio of thrash
The most underrated Megadeath album, due to the recording value... this song and straight in to Hook in Mouth were my go to tracks in my youth! I guess Liar is about one of the dues in Metallica, as there are a couple of references in there.
i think it is more likely poland. dave seems to be cool with gar but while also being a recovering addict dave seems to still hold a grudge against chris. dave loves metallica that is why he is so hurt by them. and at this time dave was going around trashing chris' reputation and chris ended up working at a denny's. anyone who doesn't have at least a bit of sympathy for chris is unreal. and by the way if dave was a rap lyricist he would have long ago been a victim of a drive by.
Your reaction today is basically the same as mine, decades ago, when I first heard this song as a kid: "Damn, Dave's pissed!" 😄 Excellent reaction, thanks, that was enjoyable!
Another good track in the same vein from that album is "Hook In Mouth". Great guitar work, and directly aimed at the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) who at the time in 1985 wanted to put "Parental Advisory" stickers on explicit records.
Thanks for doing this song! It's been my favorite Megadeth song since 1988 when i first bought the cassette. So underrated and such an unknown song. One of their rawest and most aggressive songs. Dave Mustaine in rare form..haha!
Lol!!! It's been awhile since I read the lyrics to this one. That fast pace rapish rant is freaking hilarious!!! I was reading the lyrics along with you. This definitely started my day off good! I believe he is addressing his first lead guitarist Chris Polland in this song because he would hock guitars and equipment for drugs. I think that's how Dave explained it. Anyway, great reaction more Megadeth!! "Ashes in your mouth" is a must. Take care.
Chris C truly I don't care enough. If these reaction channels fell off the face of the earth, it wouldn't bother me at all. I just suggested the whole album. Because lot of these people miss great songs because they have a clique of followers who yell louder than the rest of us. And some of the suggestions aren't great.
David Mustaine, Prince, Leslie West, Curtis Mayfield and John Sykes are musical heroes of mine. Back in the 80s, other Black kids looked at me CRAZY when I played this album for them. Then I played them WAKE UP DEAD. They involuntary started bobbing their heads in time. Groove is infectious. Dave Mustaine doesn’t know it but he helped me survive my deployment in Iraq.
First time I've ever seen you. I loved your reaction video. I'll be looking you up again my friend. Just so happened, I've been listening to this album today and you came up. This is a throw back album for me. I want to thank you. You made my day
Just started watching you guys. First saw the Maiden vids and now Megadeth. I love what you and your better half are doing! Keep up the great work! P.S. if you haven't already, try Judas Priest Screaming for Vengence album or Anthrax Killer Bees. Peace!!
This channel has fast become one of my favorites. I'd love to see you do a reaction to "Et Tout Le Monde" from the Youthanasia album. It's one of the darkest and most emotional peices Megadeth ever did. And it's quite a bit slower.
It's really fun to watch you discover the greatest metal band and one I grew up to in school in the 80s and 90s. Unbelievable talent in the many members that were/are Megadeth.
That was a killer track. I just want to say thank you. After I watched your reaction to Ningen Isu. I drove into their catalog and I haven't come across anything I don't like yet. Unfortunately my wife can't get past the Japanese lyrics. I personally don't care what they're saying. I watched a couple of their videos with English subtitles and they don't translate very well into English. That being said they are my new favorite band. I hope the new year brings nothing but happiness to you and your family thank you again.
This song and Hook in mouth from this album are my favorite on this album great reaction my friend 🔥🔥🔥❤️☮️💯 Lmao Tasha said Judas priest Rob halford LOL
\m/. Dave is amazing. Try Peace Sells (But Who's Buying) Starts off with a good bass line. I love how you put up videos more than the others. It seems like once a day. Keep it up and I'm sticking with you. \m/
Megadeth fan since day 1. I remember buying this album and immediately thought about that one dude in our neighborhood we grew up with. He absolutely fit most of this song's lyrics. He ripped everyone off in the most sneaky and slimy ways. Yeah, out hood was pretty hard sometimes. The dude ended in prison for about ten years......I believe they played this one when I saw them live at a Sacramento, CA club back in the day. I saw them twice back then and a few more times when they got big.
Mustaine wrote this after firing Chris Poland and Gar Samuelson, the original Megadeth guitarist and drummer for selling studio equipment to buy drugs. I believe this song is dedicated to Chris Poland, because he sold Dave's B.C. Rich guitar which you can see him play in every live performance before 88'
Some say this Is directed at Chris poland, however I have read articles From insiders who say that is just a cover story and the real person this is directed at is James Hetfield the singer of Metallica
Unless one has been in an addict's shoes, or have had a loved one under addiction's boot, throwing stones and passing judgement is of poor taste (so was the joke). Dave could've written this one about himself and it'd still been spot-on...
This just made my day ~! How did I miss this reaction and of all bands I adore. Please react to a group named ---- > "Babes in Toyland - Bruise Violet"
Their most under-rated, though in my opinion their equal best (alongside Peace Sells) , album. Dark, dirty but full on speed and power. Nice review as per mate.
When he said “Your brother is a gay singer in a stud leather band” my immediate thought was Rob Halford, lmao. Of course he wasn’t referring to Rob though.
It was about Gary Samuelson. He was the drummer of Megadeth on their first two albums. One of the great drummers of metal albums. He's now deceased, But he was an addict. He got Mustaine into junk, and the rest of his band mates. It's widely recognized that the song is actually about the guitarst Chris Poland, who joined and exited the band in unison with Samuelson. But intuition tells me that Gary was the person responsible for the misfortunes fallen upon Megadeth in the early days. And Liar was written in the early days.
Hey what's up, if you give "set the world on fire " a listen towards the end the guitar solo is speed of light fast but its tasteful, fast, and accurately clear. Its amazing how he can destroy with his guitar so beautifully
@@TheAdventuresofTNT I think the mid-late 80s was the best musical period of all time.
