Also because just quickly scrolling through some of the comments I don't think anyone answered your question about the Latin words used in this song. Norvus Ordo Seclorum and Annuit Coeptis are the words written on Money around the Great Seal that is that picture of the Pyramid with the Eye above it. He's saying all these atrocities are being done in the name of Power as whoever can decimate the world and has the most money rules it. I'd say that Country is the winner but as the current state of the world shows you can rule the world but still everyone loses.

Absolutely!! I dig everything about Megadeth, personally a lot of my attitudes blended well with the music from late teen through (barely) 50's. Probably many habits as well, but if I get to 80-90 (God help me) I'll still be shredding to MEGADETH!!

The funny thing is Dave actually wrote this song in 2001, because i remember him talking about it right after 9-11 that it went in the trash.. When U.A. came out , I was like "Oh, he finally did something with that one!"
While Dystopia is a really good record... United Abominations is an incredible record.

I’m at the gym right now & my random Megedeth songs went to Washington Is Next and the lyrics just reinvigorated my Red Pill.
That's something I love about many/all of Megadeth's more politically charged songs is how even the older stuff from the late 80's early 90's like peace sells, holy wars, etc don't feel dated and if anything are just as or more relevant when applied to current times as to the time period they were written in.
Dave is at his best when he's channeling the frustration, anger, and cynicism that many of us feel towards society and those running it and that feeling of awareness when you realize things are far more structured to exploit us than they are to help or serve us (meaning the common, the poor, and especially those who feel like outcasts that don't quite fit into the mold of acceptance and conformity to the social hierarchy.
Dude if you dig this you GOTTA check out 'This is how the story ends' from their follow up album, Endgame. Musically, lyrically and vocally crushes!
Ever since Dave came back from his wrist injury in the early 2000's he's just been on fire, man.

The destruction or end of the world and his Christ oriented songs, which date pretty far back into the late 80s, go hand in hand. The begining and the end, God, Revelations being the final book. It all works together. He's always been a believer just struggled with spiritual war fare like we all do. He only some years later gave himself to Christ. But in between that his music surely had a "crying out" to God, or God acknowledgement to them.
I love this song. Arguably Dave's best album. Yes i own them all.
