I've always been a fan of Team USA and started watching the NBA and playing basketball after seeing the Dream Team in '92 (also my country is ranked at 63 and never qualifies anyways). Anybody who watches basketball over here only watches the NBA, so I'am as surprised as most people at the quality of these other national teams. The way international competition has caught up, this is going to be an exciting tournament.

I think Germany is certainly one of the favorites. Their talent level is high and their organisation and tactical play is just excellent. Their whole team is based around solid shooting and sound defensive fundamentals, with a ton of good two-way players that can also make great decisions on the floor. The USA team might have the most talented squad, but they are still relying a little more on individual brilliance than the teamplay that other countries are using.

I can't be the only one that wishes the nba had fiba rules? Just feels like a more team oriented, pure style of ball. I love the goaltending rules, and no defensive 3 seconds. Something as simple as offensive rebounds have way more value.

I think Germany is certainly one of the favorites. Their talent level is high and their organisation and tactical play is just excellent. Their whole team is based around solid shooting and sound defensive fundamentals, with a ton of good two-way players that can also make great decisions on the floor.
The USA team might have the most talented squad, but they are still relying a little more on individual brilliance than the teamplay that other countries are using.
