My grandfather's chair charge down so much the charger won't even register as charging so I can move it to sell it now that he's gone. Can you replace only one battery?
This is all staged with a brand new chair that hasn't been through the daily uses that they go through. Many times especially with this chair the suspension and hardware get rusted and parts seize together to the point that they are hard to disassemble. I've done a motor replacement in about 15 min in the shop (using a lift table) and as long as the 90 minutes you say because parts were rusted, worn and had to have hardware grinded off and subsequently replaced. Been doing this since 1992.

My wheelchair place charges $80 per hour and told my driver it takes up to an hour and a half... I find them to be very deceptive in this case.
