Thanks to the Lord I'm not afraid to die but I'm afraid seeing my wife die at a young age. Can you guys please pray for her? She has unkown health issues (her heart is very weak (performs poorly) and she has heavy difficulties to breathe) and her immune system is so weakened that it will be very dangerous if the coronavirus infects her. Excellent video, very well structured and argued that has the merit of challenging one of the most naive and least well-founded assertions of Muslim dogma! You are right to point out: "Perfect preservation of the Qur'an has been DRILLED into their mind". The type of education that a Muslim receives does not prepare him at all to challenge or ask tough questions. The important thing is to believe. Muslims are always quick to blame critics for not knowing Islam, but the fact is that the vast majority of Muslims are very ignorant and ignorant of their own tradition! If I may add: Abu Bakr instructed Zaid to document the Koran on the insistence of Umar bin al Khattab after many of the qurra (Muslims that had memorised the Koran by heart) died at the Battle of Yamama. Umar was concerned that if they suffered another defeat they would not have enough qurra to preserve the Koran and therefore it was better to preserve it in the written form. Abu Bakr was at first reluctant because Muhammed had not done it and therefore it was tantamount to bid'a (i.e. not acting according to the tradition of Muhammed which as a Muslim is something to be wary of). But in the end, Umar managed to convince Abu Bakr. Zaid had the same reaction as Abu Bakr but then was convinced as well. (Sahih al Bukhari bk. 60 no 201 & bk. 61 no. 509). There is also an interesting narration by Anas bin Malik, who says that during Muhammed's life, 4 Ansari men had begun to collect the Koran. These men were: Ubai bin Ka'b (Ubai bin Kab), Mu'adh bin Jabal (Muadh bin Jabal), Zaid bin Thabit and Abu Zaid. (Sahih al Bukhari bk. 58 no. 155; bk 61 no 525 & 526). As far as I can tell, the problems lie herein. Muhammed demanded that Muslims imitate him in every little detail, there was emphasis on imitation (Bukhari bk. 2 no. 54). Muhammed demanded that kind of ritualistic adherence. As the Muslims started to conquer Arabs with different dialects, the Koran could not be recited as perfectly as Muhammed initially envisioned. In Sahih al Bukhari bk. 41 no. 601, bk. 61 no. 513, 514, 561, 582, we find how Umar bin al Khattab violently dragged Hisham bin Hakim bin Hizam in front of Muhammed to tell him about Hisham's different recitation. To diffuse the situation, Muhammed told Umar that although Gabriel had revealed to him the Koran in one way (ahruf (dialect)), Muhammed asked him for 7! Muhammed continued that Umar must not fight Hisham. Same thing happened with Abdullah bin Masud (Bukhari bk. 56 no. 682). These are the different ahruf Muslims talk about, think about reciting the same thing but with a different dialect. Having the Koran revealed in those 7 dialects would mean that it is meaningless to recite the Koran in any other language. I guess this is the insistence that Muslims have on reciting only in the Arabic dialect. The other problems were mentioned in the video and therefore will not repeat them here. As for the rest keep up the good work and good luck.
A general comment. You are part of a generation whose speech patterns drive me up the wall. With relentless up talking and lots and lots and lots of "like" and "you know" and "kinda". It makes so many of you sound hesitant and scatter-brained. You don't do any of that. You speak clear and simple and very effective English. My congratulations. Secondly, far too many apologists take to trying the Arabic pronuntiation of words for which there are perfectly serviceable and traditional English pronunciations. Even now in modern day there are Qur'ans in different Arabic dialect and several translates but the message in all of them is the same. The Qur'an has not be changed, applying that it has been changed is not supported anywhere. Arabic dialect and writing has been changed but the message has not. Of course speaking Arabic language and knowing its culture and use of words has a huge impact. Imagine some one teaching you about your country's history far, far back and telling you "no it was not as you thought it was". Hahaha. Just knowing the language is also not enough. About the Bible, yes it is corrupted. You have several VERSIONS of the Bible even the KJV has came in two different examples with different translates in different eras! You have now over 20 VERSIONS of the Bible. It's also corrupted by many other reasons such as the only "original" of NT we have is a copy of a copy of a copy God knows how far back into Koine Greek language (as we know Isa/Jesus spoke Aramaic or Hebrew and not Greek) or the fact that the story about him applies in Greek Mythological (several things are related to Greek Mythological history), several errors and wrongs found in same era told by different people, unknown authors behind the translations and writings of the Bibles, priests changeable aspects by choosing which gospels and books to apply as part of the Bible and which not, Paul's own vision and declare of being Messiah and then misguided people, several paganism and pagan holidays as part of your so called "god", several misguided clash between priests with who Jesus was and even the different collection of books from 66, 72 or 80+. I'm less concerned about preservation than the morality. The Qur'an that comes 600 years after the New Testament would be expected have morality that is light years ahead of the New Testament and it's not. I find that very disconcerting

Quran most probably comes from Qrono in Syriac which means a reading. They still use the word today in the Syriac liturgy before they read the Gospels for example.

In trying to attack a strawman which he believed to be a central doctrine of Christianity , he ultimately exposed a weak link in the chain of Islam , which is in my opinion the weakest : the claim that the Quran is miraculously preserved from scribal errors and from intentional modifications. If we keep up the pressure on this one dogma , Muslims will slowly start to realize that they have been shamelessly lied to .

The type of education that a Muslim receives does not prepare him at all to challenge or ask tough questions. The important thing is to believe. Muslims are always quick to blame critics for not knowing Islam, but the fact is that the vast majority of Muslims are very ignorant and ignorant of their own tradition! If I may add:
Abu Bakr instructed Zaid to document the Koran on the insistence of Umar bin al Khattab after many of the qurra (Muslims that had memorised the Koran by heart) died at the Battle of Yamama. Umar was concerned that if they suffered another defeat they would not have enough qurra to preserve the Koran and therefore it was better to preserve it in the written form. Abu Bakr was at first reluctant because Muhammed had not done it and therefore it was tantamount to bid'a (i.e. not acting according to the tradition of Muhammed which as a Muslim is something to be wary of). But in the end, Umar managed to convince Abu Bakr. Zaid had the same reaction as Abu Bakr but then was convinced as well. (Sahih al Bukhari bk. 60 no 201 & bk. 61 no. 509).
There is also an interesting narration by Anas bin Malik, who says that during Muhammed's life, 4 Ansari men had begun to collect the Koran. These men were: Ubai bin Ka'b (Ubai bin Kab), Mu'adh bin Jabal (Muadh bin Jabal), Zaid bin Thabit and Abu Zaid. (Sahih al Bukhari bk. 58 no. 155; bk 61 no 525 & 526).
As far as I can tell, the problems lie herein. Muhammed demanded that Muslims imitate him in every little detail, there was emphasis on imitation (Bukhari bk. 2 no. 54). Muhammed demanded that kind of ritualistic adherence. As the Muslims started to conquer Arabs with different dialects, the Koran could not be recited as perfectly as Muhammed initially envisioned. In Sahih al Bukhari bk. 41 no. 601, bk. 61 no. 513, 514, 561, 582, we find how Umar bin al Khattab violently dragged Hisham bin Hakim bin Hizam in front of Muhammed to tell him about Hisham's different recitation. To diffuse the situation, Muhammed told Umar that although Gabriel had revealed to him the Koran in one way (ahruf (dialect)), Muhammed asked him for 7! Muhammed continued that Umar must not fight Hisham. Same thing happened with Abdullah bin Masud (Bukhari bk. 56 no. 682). These are the different ahruf Muslims talk about, think about reciting the same thing but with a different dialect. Having the Koran revealed in those 7 dialects would mean that it is meaningless to recite the Koran in any other language. I guess this is the insistence that Muslims have on reciting only in the Arabic dialect.
The other problems were mentioned in the video and therefore will not repeat them here.

Secondly, far too many apologists take to trying the Arabic pronuntiation of words for which there are perfectly serviceable and traditional English pronunciations. The result is a distracting macaronic. Jay Smith is the great offender here. As if somehow this will make their arguments more acceptable to Muslims. It clearly does not. Again, you speak about Islam and its Arabic vocabulary in standard and educated English, which flows more smoothly and does not give the meta-message of trying to appease or impress. Good job!

Then you talk about dialects, trying to correct me. I was applying this during Muhammad's time as that is what the subject was about. I know there are over 30, almost 40 Arabic dialects. However there were 7 Arabic dialects during the time of Muhammad, the seven tribes with their own dialect were Quraysh, Hudhayl, Thaqeefm Hawaazin, Kinaanah, Tameem and Yemen. You also talk here that there are different versions of Qur'an, haha no there are not. There is only ONE version of Qur'an. You have different versions of Bible but not Qur'an. There is no versions of Qur'an, there are only applied in different dialects and translates. Even now in modern day there are Qur'ans in different Arabic dialect and several translates but the message in all of them is the same. The Qur'an has not be changed, applying that it has been changed is not supported anywhere. Arabic dialect and writing has been changed but the message has not.
Of course speaking Arabic language and knowing its culture and use of words has a huge impact. Imagine some one teaching you about your country's history far, far back and telling you "no it was not as you thought it was". Hahaha. Just knowing the language is also not enough. About the Bible, yes it is corrupted. You have several VERSIONS of the Bible even the KJV has came in two different examples with different translates in different eras! You have now over 20 VERSIONS of the Bible. It's also corrupted by many other reasons such as the only "original" of NT we have is a copy of a copy of a copy God knows how far back into Koine Greek language (as we know Isa/Jesus spoke Aramaic or Hebrew and not Greek) or the fact that the story about him applies in Greek Mythological (several things are related to Greek Mythological history), several errors and wrongs found in same era told by different people, unknown authors behind the translations and writings of the Bibles, priests changeable aspects by choosing which gospels and books to apply as part of the Bible and which not, Paul's own vision and declare of being Messiah and then misguided people, several paganism and pagan holidays as part of your so called "god", several misguided clash between priests with who Jesus was and even the different collection of books from 66, 72 or 80+. And I can go on and on...

Imagine being so dishonest despite actual Quranic scholarship affirming the preservation of the Quran. I won't even give you our scholars, which are unanimous on the preservation of the Quran. I'll give you western scholars. According to orientalist scholars (meaning non-Muslim scholars) the Quran is absolutely preserved.
In "The Cambridge Companion to the Qur'ān" by Jane Dammen McAuliffe, Angelika Neuwirth says,
"New findings of Qur'anic text fragments, moreover, can be adduced to affirm rather than call into question the traditional picture of the Quran as an early fixed text composed of the s¯uras we have" (p. 100)
According to Dr. Joseph Lumbard in an interview,
"As more and more manuscripts have become available, we have been able to confirm with greater and greater accuracy, scientifically, as empirically as one can, that the story that the Muslims have of the compilation of the Quran is, for the most part, accurate"
Carl W. Ernst confirms this by saying it is a better explanation of the data that is available to us than any other theory that anyone has proposed.
William Muir wrote,
"There is probably, in the world, no other work which has remained for twelve centuries with so pure a text."
Kenneth Cragg wrote,
"The Quran as it stood in Othman's recension omits no significant (information) and includes no extraneous material. The Prophet's death had decisively closed the book."

Quran most probably comes from Qrono in Syriac which means a reading. They still use the word today in the Syriac liturgy before they read the Gospels for example.

@@user-zn7lr7iw5n I appreciate your concern,but if your own objection is that "Jesus doesn't know everything,only His Father does" it's also firing back on you and already explained:in ancient Judea,everyone knew with approximation when the wedding took place,it was something all the community knew,but the future husband knew the exact date of course,but out of respect for his father,everyone said "only the Father knows". And since the Father of Jesus is God,it makes perfect sense that Jesus is God,cause in ancient Judea,if your father was a tax collector,you would be one,if your father was a fisherman,you would be a fisherman,if your Father was God (as in case of Jesus),you are God.

Why DO they use so much reverb? I live in St. Louis MO and we have a large number of Bosnian Muslims here and they love their music LOUD and ECHO-Y! OMG the REVERB is INSANE! LOL.
