The Quran: A Literary Miracle?

The Quran and Muhammad were so convincing that after he died so many Muslims left Islam that Abu Bakr had to go and fight the Ridda (Apostasy) Wars to "bring them back". He probably fought these wars by reciting the Quran to convince the apostates that it is from Allah, lol.

Millions have memorised the holy koran by heart, there is no compulsion in Religion sura Al kafiroon. Muhammad ( pbuh) bought the people out of darkness and in to light. Study his life please from being an orphan and his unmatchable character . He(pbuh) was known as the trust worthy so much that even the Jews would put their trust in him by letting him look after their valuables, money, etc. Please go and ask the scholars before you forward your opinions because as with many others you are deceiving many.

@@anwarsheikh7771 Memorizing a text has little to do with understanding it. How many of these people have read the Quran carefully, as well as the tafsirs, hadiths and Sharia? I know a friend who memorized about half, but when I started to discus scientific and ethical issues in the Quran, he was baffled.
You mention "no compulsion" but if you read the tafsirs they clearly state that this verse (which is an early revelation) has been abrogated by later verses. If it wasn't, then the Quran would contradict itself because other verses say to fight those who do not believe, so clearly there is compulsion, as do sahih hadiths:
Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but Allah, and he who professed it was guaranteed the protection of his property and life on my behalf except for the right affairs rest with Allah. - Sahih Muslim 21a

Thank you for another great video Colin. 😊 👍🏻
I would like to invite everyone to think of this for a monent:
There are no scholars arguing about the translation [in English for example] of Homer's Iliad. An ancient Greek poem dated approximately 1500 years before muhammad was born.
The text, the meaning, and the interpretation are all clear. When we read the text in English we know at all times what the protagonists feel, what their actions are, their motives, and what their words and statements mean. There is very little if any ambiguity on these matters. Finally, the narrative is coherent and flows naturally.
Then we have the miraculous koran which states [just to site two examples]:
    1. "Dhul-Qarnayn reached the setting place of the Sun" [koran 18.86]. To this day no muslim can explain to us WHERE this place is and WHEN exactly does the Sun go there.
    2. The koran [verse 4.34] also commands men to beat their wives to discipline them. Setting aside the fact that this is unacceptable, allah made it even worse since he did not care to explain how, or set limits to the beating method and severity to spare millions of women from abuse that can result in disfigurement or even death.

"The Koran claims for itself that it is 'mubeen,' or 'clear,' but if you look at it, you will notice that every fifth sentence or so simply doesn't make sense. Many Muslims-and Orientalists-will tell you otherwise, of course, but the fact is that a fifth of the Koranic text is just incomprehensible. This is what has caused the traditional anxiety regarding translation. If the Koran is not comprehensible-if it can't even be understood in Arabic-then it's not translatable. People fear that. And since the Koran claims repeatedly to be clear but obviously is not-as even speakers of Arabic will tell you-there is a contradiction."

The best part of these kinds of videos and their comments is that people simply push out their opinions & convictions, and vent hatred, anger & frustrations.
Nothing serious academically, historically, scientifically or logically.
Facts and figures are usually handicapped, opinionated or biased.
This then, only confuses more those already confused, misleads more who is already misled and satisfies more he that has already chosen his nest.
But, ARE WE READY TO FACE IT?
    If yes:
Wouldn't it be nice, rational and spectacular a moment, that some of many efforts in producing many clips like this (that arguably, has little or no benefits for the minds and souls of men) be for once use to arrange a professional well mannered and regulated debate?
Many fellow famous RUclipsrs on the other side of the coin would be happy to do so.
    BUT WOULD WE?
Problems with science-like expressions? Historical fallacies? Logical errors? Legal or moral objections? Fine!
Let episodes be dedicated to professionals in their fields addressing each topic, presenting all related research and papers, and then finally weighing them.
That indeed, would be great and truly beneficial for viewers and the society.

You clearly never watched the video bud. Lots of academic references and citations shown here that is used for arguments against your religion. How ironic that you appeal to muh experts in academia and history when even in the Quran contradicts and makes errors about actual historical figures. Hope you find your actual mind too since it seems lost somewhere.

      @@ophanimangel3143What's wrong with your UNDERSTANDING?
Did you see this: "Facts and figures are usually handicapped, opinionated or biased". Or is there anything in the comment that suggests "NO scientific or historical data at all"?
"Lots of academic references and citations shown here...." Not sure if you read the comment too, LOL.

Putting things out context will not help. Why don't you explain what Nouman Ali explained.

It's funny how mohamad struggled to attract followers if the quran was so convincing until he was able to wield secular power to compel people to follow.
