I think they are really in the way of the main structure and you got to start somewhere it seemed logical to get them and the metal out of the way. Thanks for watching hope you joined our community!
You guys are best, absolutely amazing at what you do in all the different levels. You're a good guy, Dave and you take care of your crew and in turn, they take care of you. Your positive energy and work ethic are first class. Top of the line, ahead of the rest. 👏👏💪💪💯💯
I'll bet you got a deal on the equipment because you took care of it, didn't start BS about the hydraulic hose blowing, and to foster a good business relationship. Three good reasons to give you a deal. I'm pretty impressed how quick and easy you guys got that done. Great job and hey my dad does some renovation work. If we ever need cabinets or anything like that we will definitely check you guys out before buying anything new. The new cabinets most times simply don't last like older ones do because of the materials.
I miss that park right to the north of the building, I’d pull my motorcycle up by those 2 palm trees and sit at the grass huts that were there and call my mom at sunset every night , that was the best park on the beach hope it’s rebuilt
With a history of building collapses in Florida, it’s understandable that a lot of caution would be exercised. I live in Canada and have seen plenty of instances where salt has extremely detrimental effects on concrete. With a hurricane whipping boatloads of water at the building, any chance of salt water entering the structure would destroy the building in short order.
This building had the electric, the plumbing, the fire suppression system, the pool, the roof, the elevator and structural repairs it was just too much. Hope you joined our community and subscribed.
You guys knocked it out of the park on this job! Looking forward to seeing you guys continue to grow and take on bigger jobs like this. The live stream at 50:20 that was me asking if you finish early do you get a credit. Knew you'd make quick work of it
You have to wonder if it was a supplier issue with the concrete decking and if other buildings on the beach built around 1978 are experiencing the same concrete issues as this building. We really enjoyed watching this series on the demolition of this building.
I was thinking the same, especially when so many of those beach condo buildings on both coasts went up in the 70s. They're just about 50 years old, much less stringent building codes then, subjected to the salt air and sea water....makes you wonder. I guess we'll know more once all of the inspections are completed by the end of the year on those older buildings. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing aot more of these beach condo demos. I just worry about where all of the people are going to go.
I know of two condos in the Myrtle Beach area that have similar problems. One had similar shoring up at a corner. That building was ordered to vacate for about a year. After some steel and concrete repairs the owners were allowed to occupy it again. The other condo was ordered to vacate and is still unoccupied. Not sure what the issue or determination is at this time.
Great channel! Thank you for your service to our amazing country. Long line of Marine Corps in this Family. I notice you guys left all the extinguishers and extinguisher storage boxes. Is that normal? Can they be repurposed?
Just going off From claws I’ve seen pop up for sale I’d guess that one is in the 150-250k$ range. Considering that building was 7 stories high the pile of rubble really doesn’t look that big!
That building crumbled down pretty easily. I wonder if the floors had early failure due to how they were poured? Being near the salt water, probably trying to pour each floor at the same time with multiple pump trucks showing up, with crazy traffic and lots of hot days... And the water in the hose either starts or stops and so on. Other things could have caused a delay in the pouring timeline too, that may have affected the curing. Sometimes the smooth top peels off the crumbling popcorn base below.
These were lightweight, concrete floors that were brought in and set across the beams, and it seems to me like the we're a failing, they're coming apart.
@@removeitprosdemolition Speaking as a ley person on the subject, the 70s seems notorious for "innovations" in concrete that were, how shall we say... "Less quality-focused". Seems like this was pulled-down, before it fell-down!
To prevent collateral wear & tear, as well as premature damage to the roads, in the Chicago & vicinity areas, all concrete and masonry products are re-processed(ground-up), on- site. The grades #7, #8 and lime screenings are stored on- site for future construction. This process is an additional profit margin. The grindings can also be sold as recycled material. It's considered on-site inventories.
I have followed you all on this project from the first day of you going through the condos. I was hoping you would have shown the inside of the condo you didnt want your guys going into. What was inside it?
I am just wondering what will be built there next? The same kind of building but better build and better concrete and with much much stronger supports?
Yes when we got this one they were running down the street. And it needs a roof, elevator, fire suppression, electrical and plumbing updates, a pool and a parking lot. Along with needing foundation repairs. Thanks for watching hope you subscribed and joined our community!

My guess with taking the stair cases down first is too ensure no one gets the clever idea of climbing up them during the demo process.

Yeah guess we over did this one it was a big deal for us.
Do you connect to a fire hydrant to get the water for dust control or truck it in??

Developers are going to come in and ruin Ft. Meyers the way they did Miami. Hopefully the county has some height limits.
Can you imagine how many truckloads of cinder box and cement trucks that went to this building?
It's mind blowing, and the time it took to build it.
@removeitprosdemolition So sad
