Hello I spoke about the TOMS supra with the toyota turbo celica 3SGTE tuned to race in the JGTC in one of the first GR supra release videos saying toyota should make the new GR Supra with a 400hp 3SGTE motor instead of a 6 cylinder motor to be all original instead of using BMW's straight 6 motor and toyota took my idea.These car manufactures do read the comments section I think.
if you want a practical decent 4 banger get the 330i the supra and z4 should be option with the inline six if your buying a 2 door 2 seater sports car with really crappy boot space you the reason why you bought it.
Toyota really had a good brand that they could have capitalised on. In the next decade, the Supra could have been synonymous with the likes of the 911's heritage. Disappointing. And it really shows when Mat points out fuel efficiency as one of the advantages of having this "sports" car
Honestly i´m at Minute 7 and all i hear is eeeh it is a 4 cylinder mimimimimimi. It sounds good enough for a 4 pot and if you buy one you know that you´ll get a 4 pot. Just be happy that it even exists
And make it even much lighter . At least there is an argument that a lighter car with a smaller engine gives you absolute agility in cornering and braking ability. But the mechanics will probably like the 4 cylinders due to more working room for them.
I think they did a fine job making this 4cyl version. I'm always a fan of variety, whether it's a 2.0L Supra or 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang. The more options buyers have, the better. Something for everyone!

Not really, the 3.0 has a combined fuel cycle of 32mpg, the 2.0 has a combined cycle of 38mpg. Then there’s the reduce co2 emmisons that effect tax costs. Admittedly, mpg isn’t an exact science but the 2.0 offers much of the benefits of the 3.0 but will be significantly cheaper to run.
Don’t get too excited. I own the 2.0 and it’s a beloved keeper. I think most owners are going to hang on to their Supra’s long term. It’s really a lot of performance, style, and luxury for sub $50k
