This is the Toyota Supra TRD - and it just might be the greatest Supra EVER made!
It’s one of only 35 Mk4 TRD Supras ever made, so it’s super rare! But that’s not all… Not only are there just 16 left, but the one we have here is one of only two currently available in the UK!
So what’s different compared to the normal Mk4 Supra? Well on the outside you’ll find a load of changes, from a huge rear wing & updated rear bumper through to widened wheel arches and some additional vents.
And of course, under the bonnet you’ll find the much-loved 2JZ engine - a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six which originally produced 326hp & 441Nm. But of course, given the look of the car, you know it’s already been tuned... And it now produces an almighty 700hp!
The question is, what will that additional hp feel like once it’s on track? You’ll have to stick with Mat to find out!

people take for granted that upping the power results in better 0-100 times. Well in a lot of cases it does not.
If it narrows the powerband (only from 5000-7000 in this car) and you don't go along with suspensions, diff and tires to get more grip and a balanced launch.
You saved me writing this, thanks. Either Matt cannot drive or this is not 700bhp

@@mounir347 So right: I have driven the new 911 Turbo S, and it makes sub 3 second 0-60 times the realm of grandmothers: you really don't need any skill whatsoever, the software optimises the engine, autobox etc for insane times. Younger people who have only started driving past 10 years don't know what animals higher powered cars were in the 1990s, even into the 2000s. You needed to carefully judge the road surface, match the revs for the optimal grip / spin with a manual that often had a long throw and a tricky, heavy clutch.
We're never gonna hear noises like this again in 10 years time. It's what I like most about cars. And this thing has a brutal soundtrack.

I think the fact that he kept a twin turbo as a post to go and single, is a great thing. Honestly, for me, A 500 hp twin turbo car with a lot less lag would be ideal.

Awesome car. I really like what the owner has done with the interior as well as the powertrain. I like the idea of keeping the twin turbo system in place. Yeah, the power and massive surge you get with a single turbo is fun but I like having some power delivery a little lower down in the rev range, relatively speaking when it comes to these cars. I remember Matt Farah drove one built by Titan Motorsports down in Florida which had a similar amount of power and based on that video as well as this one, 700 hp seems to be a really nice spot to be at. It appears to have enough power to keep it feeling fast in this day and age but not so much that it’s too hard to control. I bet engine internals last longer too. Either way, I can’t wait to see it again when it’s making more power.

I'll never forget the ride in my brothers mates Supra import years ago (approx 420bhp) - he went for an impossible overtake. I thought this is fast as the first turbo kicked in and then all hell broke loose when the 2nd one kicked in and we passed around 10 cars in a few seconds at warp factor 8. He then hit the brakes as he didn't want to lose his licence.
I was on the m25 this morning and spotted this beauty 😍 wow !! Gran turismo toms Supra got me hooked 🙂

Love this Mat. It’s exactly what brings emotion to carpeople. In the end the feeling that you experience is what makes you smile driving a car like this. Even driving a smart roadster with only 100Hp brings a bigger smile on you face than an Electric car.
And yes, please show more of these kind of cars.
Suggestion: some old Porsches. Like Sc Rs, Carrera Rs. Or old Alfa like gtv. Giullietta Spint Speciale. Etc etc.
Searched for this. I'll work my best to engineer solutions out of this mess but the only solution for me now is owning old, used cars and maintaining them for the next several decades.

I think it’s the most beautifully customised Supra. Subtletwide ness to the flares. Even the livery is perfect and the new bumpers. ❤️
I think the two turbos spool together at the same point in time. They aren't sequential, they are parallel, the extra power you are noticing is probably the high lift cams
