Cutaways are the best learning tool.
Really? “Sorry I don’t know how to diagnose or replace the part but I know what it looks like inside.”
The air conditioning system has stopped performing its function. Chips have been detected in the system. This is the end of the compressor.
@@alexandergunaka666 🤦😂
@@alexandergunaka666 no but now you can see the inside and understand how it functions to learn what you need to replace. Maybe you are too stupid to be able to understand simple mechanical devices?
@@alexandergunaka666 really allows you to understand the mechanics of the machine which can help diagnose the situation or get an idea of what might be going wrong in the long run. And besides, what’s wrong with getting extra looks?
As a commercial refrigeration tech of 42 years, thank you for that. I've never seen the internals of an automotive a/c compressor. Watch your fingers. ✌️
Thanks a lot
That's old school. Most are centrifugal compressors nowadays.
@@Comanchee0689 wrong
@@nathangregory9002,Comanche is absolutely right. I've seen a lot of air compressors (for cars) and they all work on the same principle. I've also seen high-pressure car washers...same principle.
@899baki I'm a commercial refrigeration guy but I know that for car A/C the most of the times is reciprocating compressors with schwaseplate! Now we have some expectations where we have scroll compressor instead of reciprocating compressor! Also older cars runs on Suva 134a (Yep that's the brand name given by EX R134a newer cars now runs on the newer A2L R1234yf or Opteon YF (from the same company EX DuPont nowadays Chemours).

Looks like a hydraulic variable displacement axial piston pump
That Red40 hit different
That made me laugh 😆
Air conditioning systems are a lot more complicated than heating systems.
I mean, a heat pump IS an air conditioner, just with the flow direction swapped. So, you need an extra part to make an AC system into a heater. Seems the heater is more complex ;)
@@tomb816 are you joking?
@@BB-np4ib No. A heat pump is pretty much the same design as an AC unit, just w/ a reversing valve. Neither are complicated systems. They're simple heat exchangers using a certain fluid as the transfer medium and a pump to produce flow. They extract heat from one source and transfer it to another. AC from inside to out and a heat pump from outside to in.
@@tomb816 A heat pump is literally mandatory for a AC unit. Why would a heater be more complex?
@@BB-np4ib No. A heat pump has the ability to heat AND cool, but an AC unit does not. I said more complex because without the reversing valve, an AC unit cannot produce heat. Hence, more complex.
Funny, I was just reading on Wikipedia about axial engines and then this pops up

That's why I roll the windows down. It was working fine, but because my truck sat for a long period of time before I bought her, shit like that is making itself known.
roll the windows down turn the radio up fixes a lot of noises man 👍🏼😂😂😂😂
@rhyslewis4516 Usually 🤣🤣. Until rolling the windows down makes the sound that much louder 🤣🤣🤣.
It only makes that noise when the compressor is actually on, turn off the ac (or disconnect clutch via switch in cab), and it quits rattling.
Mine too. I should really get a new one🤣
I’ve seen that kind of AC compressor used in European cars specifically Volkswagen

Saw a video of a dude turning a AC compressor into a gas engine. It was pretty cool.
Pleace send me / Us all the link
Im baffled by the posible amount of rotations in its lifetime. Anyone have the slightest idea if it’s in the billions or 🤷🏻♂️?
1.6 trillion
About 80K RPM s a minute
Think of a cars engine they can go through between 350,000,000 to over 1,000,000,000 rpms in 100k miles, and most cars make it well above 100k miles today. So, going by that the compressor would have either equal to that or about half of that depending on the climate. If you live in Florida the AC would be on all the time so it'd be about equal. But there's another thing to consider. Vehicles that run high rpms normally have have under driven accessory drives and vehicles with low rom engines tend to have over driven accessory drives, so they could have half the revolutions or double!...
That's a Swash Plate which make the piston travel constantly variable and is more efficient than on off
A/c compressor that noisey gets kicked off the line as a defect. Good learning g tool with the side cut away.
Isn't this one convertible to internal combustion ,with some modifications????🤔
Yup. And depending on the angle of the swash plate depends on the throw of those tiny pistons.
Is this a variable displacement compressor. No magnetic clutch?
I can't buy the variable travel part. What governs this relative plate angle?

You'd have to make ports for the valves and spark plugs for the pistons, then make groves in the pistons for rings for a better seal when running oil.

Причем здесь дросселирование?
Used to make key chains from those pistons
