      You bring up a valid point.
      It's essential for consumers to make informed decisions about the safety and reliability of repaired vehicles. Some may feel comfortable driving a repaired vehicle, while others may prefer to invest in a new or certified pre-owned vehicle with a clean history.

      This us a body on frame vehicle, all the sheetmetal they straightened gives almost zero protection as there are no reinforcements in it as far as I've seen. It hs basically holding the fenders on. All the strength is in the frame and the bumper that is attached to the frame in this case.

      There is NO way this was $1000, maybe to buy, but to fix. Parts alone are way more. As long as the structural crash system was replaced to stock form, it should be OK.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  10 дней назад +1

      The cost of this car is very cheap. As a domestic brand off-road vehicle, the new car sells for just over 10,000 US dollars. The price at auction at the scrap car factory is about 2,000 US dollars, plus the repair cost of 1,000, it is less than one-third of the price. It is still a good deal to buy a car like this. After restoration, this car is only used near the farm. The price/performance ratio is very high.

      @@xinxianshi Agreed, my friend has a body repair garage and he gets requests for this kind of repair especially on Taxis where down time is a big issue causing lossof revenue and where the car's value being a Taxi is non existant (basically scrap yard value). My friend declines and refers them to a shop that does that kind of work. I just don't like that kind of repair on my car and I have insurance so don't haveto dealwith the cost. PlusI would never do such a repaironmy Jaguar or Ranger Rover! This said, the frame rails weren't damaged so the safety wasn't compromised but the value was..

    This vehicle is structurally compromised. Should be scrapped.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  10 дней назад

      Your concern is valid. When a vehicle sustains significant structural damage, particularly in areas crucial for maintaining its integrity and safety, such as the chassis or frame, it can indeed compromise the vehicle's structural integrity.

      Nah man, its china… theyll rebuild this utterly fucking destroyed car so it drives again, but theyll confiscate and scrap a perfectly good, never hit, low mile car because yknow, its 8 years old and doesnt meet the govt standards of what they want people to drive.
