What an amazing journey from start to finish! The details and restoration techniques are truly incredible. Definitely a video worth watching and learning from.
I believe that these videos are only for the curiosity and skill of the repairman, a vehicle like this will never have the structure to withstand another impact.... Would anyone trust it???
You bring up a valid point. It's essential for consumers to make informed decisions about the safety and reliability of repaired vehicles. Some may feel comfortable driving a repaired vehicle, while others may prefer to invest in a new or certified pre-owned vehicle with a clean history.
This us a body on frame vehicle, all the sheetmetal they straightened gives almost zero protection as there are no reinforcements in it as far as I've seen. It hs basically holding the fenders on. All the strength is in the frame and the bumper that is attached to the frame in this case.
There is NO way this was $1000, maybe to buy, but to fix. Parts alone are way more. As long as the structural crash system was replaced to stock form, it should be OK.
Guys you did a great job bringing back together, that brings back memories of me doing this same thing to brand new cars smashed into the windshield keep up the good work

One word: Annealing. Every single one of those severely bent areas were hardened by deformation, and hardened even further by "straightening". All of them are cracked or will crack when stressed.
Indeed, after the metal is deformed, it is easy to deform and crack when it returns to its original shape. Heating with a spray gun is a good method, but it will also lose the toughness of the metal.

Here in the UK something like that would be a write off and scrapped. Kind of a good job it was body on frame too because if was integral much more work would have been needed.
When I was in the motor trade in the 80’s we repaired cars like this all the time - even reshelled cars that were too bad to repair - slot of the body work skills are gone now - I worked with some fantastic panel beaters all old school and could repair anything.
It would have been much better to have replaced all the damage parts, rather than beating all the dents out.. This would not pass any inspection here in the states.
This is absurd, this car will never take another hit, this is a leaky boat, and it will sink again, this should be a crime, selling an old can like that, this makeup can't take anything, if there is another head on collision everyone will go die, in Brazil this car is a total loss and sent to the scrapyard to sell the good parts that are left, and the insurance pays for the car completely, or gives the value in cash.
Hello, everyone has different judgment standards. Vehicle repair is indeed not satisfactory, but the repair price is cheap, so some people still choose to repair it here.
@@xinxianshi I really believe that you are an excellent professional, but there is a certain limit to where you can repair and where you have to go to the junkyard.
This looks much worse than it actually is. The real structure and strength is in the frame which was literally untouched in the wreck as the impact was above the frame. This is a time consuming, but relatively easy repair overall. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this anywhere after the repair is complete.

That's a valid concern. While skilled craftsmen like can work wonders in repairing heavily damaged cars, there can be limitations to how much structural integrity can be restored, especially after severe damage.
Indeed, repairing damaged vehicles, especially those with significant structural issues, can be a daunting task. It requires a combination of technical expertise, experience, and meticulous attention to detail. While some may feel intimidated by the extent of the damage, skilled technicians can often assess the situation and develop effective repair strategies.
Hello! I'm glad to hear from you. This video is not a professional repair of Nissan, but after watching enough, it is a good idea for Nissan to try another method.
You're absolutely right about the importance of eye protection, especially in environments where there are potential hazards like flying debris, sparks, or chemicals.
The cost of this car is very cheap. As a domestic brand off-road vehicle, the new car sells for just over 10,000 US dollars. The price at auction at the scrap car factory is about 2,000 US dollars, plus the repair cost of 1,000, it is less than one-third of the price. It is still a good deal to buy a car like this. After restoration, this car is only used near the farm. The price/performance ratio is very high.
Well seeing that vehicle already injured or possibly was involved in a fatality, I wonder if one day we'll see it again being repaired on this channel.
Your concerns are reasonable, but they are not as unbearable as you think. Some cheap new cars may not be as safe as this one, so everything is relative.
Dont know. Pulling the upper unibody nor replacing major structures. Frame od truck is good after you take off the body? Using a rhe frame machine and not tying it down? How do you get Pulling power? This repair was to restore the vehicle to a normal driving state with the least amount of money, and they did it. The continued use of the repaired sheet metal parts saved hundreds of dollars in this repair.
Hello, the vehicle is fixed on the stand through clamps, and there is a force behind the vehicle that pulls the rear end of the vehicle. Unfortunately, it is not shown in the video.
Hello, they are right. After the repair, there will be some loss of safety, but it is not as serious as they say. There are many repaired cars that can still be driven normally on the road after many years.
This seems incredible, but it does cost so much money, because many parts are repaired and not replaced with new ones. The value of the vehicle itself limits the cost of repair. If the cost is too high, there will not be enough profit.
It's understandable to see it that way. While the repair work might be skillful and impressive, the extent of the damage might lead some to consider the car as beyond repair.
No hearing protection, no eye protection, no welding goggles, no mask. These guys are supermen. I must admit, the work seems to go much faster when you eliminate little details like sanding the welding spots, using weldthru primer, grinding out those plug welds and maybe hitting them with a bit of primer. What you can't see can't be important. Everything seemed to line up nicely so it must be A-OK.
