Greg's no Layne. I think Layne was bar none 1 of the greatest voices of all time but Greg does sound good with Jerry. My love for Layne blinds me. If Greg and William started great bands the singers they'd be great bands. But idk if we'd know about em.
I hear ya! I had a few buddies say that they thought I should give it a shot. So I programmed/played all the instrumentation and started working on the vocals. I wasn't trying to imitate Layne at all, that just wasn't going to happen. But I focused on my own vox. Well after a month I just scrapped the whole thing as, in my opinion, I wasn't doing giving the song the justice it deserved. I've seen a few attempts on RUclips, some good, some not so good. That is a helluva cover to pull off, props to all who can do it justice!

The AIC singer that replaced Layne is better to tour doing these AIC songs especially with Layne Leads type songs when solo tours. PS whomever this dudes is, I might be as good. 3. Jerry should do his solo albums tunes (last one was great), AIC songs that he did more leads on and COVERS, I’m sure he could pull out a few. This was a disappointment of a video, he’s playing again this March. What’s up with the AIC version?

See those big square things on each mic stand.(tablets) Tablets have replaced teleprompter monitors.(monitors with lyrics in bold print). As if bands are karaoke there own written songs. Now some bands/artists fee the need to have a safety net on stage. As a musician, I can’t support this non sense.
Have you listened to other videos with Greg? He's actually a great singer and has done well with AIC stuff. This video does nooooot sound good though. Maybe a combo of him being off at this gig and poor sound quality? Layne is impossible to replace/top
