Jerry Cantrell has never had a bad song, this whole Brighten album is a freaking masterpiece.
I totally agree. I like it better than the last few AIC records. I love every song
All his solo albums are dope. This one happens to be a bit more special. He allowed Greg in on alot of it.
Facelift had a couple lemons. Still the best guitarist in a generation......mine

Never seen a interview with Jerry where he don't come across as a mellow. Humble decent guy... it's a wicked album was well impressed
This album came out when I was headed right into the worst depression I've ever faced. A year later, I can say I've made a ton of progress, and I still love this album; but I did put it on the other day and it does bring me back to that strange, dark period. If nothing else, Brighten is already a part of my personal story in that sense.. Which is nothing new for me, considering how much AiC has played a role in my life already. It's just crazy how this kind of music can have such a huge effect! Hope he keeps makin em.
Jerry's music is magic. AIC and all of his solo albums . . . all pure magic.

As someone who dabbles in darkness, the best advice is, get outside and throw yourself into social situations . Even if it's just going to a bar/ library/gym/ cooking class. Inside leads to too much inside.
I felt that with Degradation Trip...I managed to get Volume 1 & 2 (thank you dad's credit card) and found my discman. This album is like a light...well, the title says it all.
It's amazing Elton John, was the inspiration for so many grunge/metal artists...Madman Across the Water is amazing.
I loved it when I heard Jerry doing backup with Gov't Mule doing a cover of Effergy from Creedence...

I love you Jerry Cantrell. You have helped me through some very low tragic times, and been there through some super happy fun times as well and everywhere in between. I graduated in 1991 and man in the box of course was my first favorite AIC song but I've kinda followed Jerry specifically. I wish I could thank him for his art and tell him how his writing saved my life many times over. Literally physically and mentally . Thank you a million times over.

Brighten is legit af. Im convinced at this point Jerry is the grunge/metal/country version of Paul McCartney in terms of the quality of his musical output. In terms of consistency. Dude simply does not take L's. Pure musical genius flows through this man's brain.

Jerry’s music is LIFE, I don’t want to live in a world without his music, keep it going Jerry many of us depend on you, we lost Layne and still missed , by you carrying on its softened the blow, im in my 50s and been metal since early 80s not a big fan of newer music but your music is an exception, just masterfully done unique genuine the best, hands down thanks for the tunes

Loved this album from the first time I heard it! They don’t call him #RiffLord for nothing! Saw him in concert in April, we were 10 feet from the stage, was completely mesmerized by his awesomeness! A true rock legend! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's cool to see Greg involved in something pretty fucking cool and reunited with Gil also, I am a Dillinger fan clearly but have always also admired Jerry Cantrell, what a great mix of musicians.
The album turned out great, but live it was even better.

I was blessed to see the great Jerry Cantrell in Pittsburgh/ McKees Rocks. What an amazing musician--the entire group was incredible.
The vibe coming out of that room. Jerry fits the room, puts it all together.

I feel like Jerry Cantrell is the best ambassador of anyone from his era of music. He's my favorite musician of all time, bar none. I love this album Brighten, along with all of his solo stuff and all of his work with Alice. He's a musical genius.
I loved the album from the first time I heard it, and Siren Song is a poem made into a song, it's beautiful, the lyrics, the music, everything. Thank you Jerry for giving us this masterpiece.

So many thoughts and appreciation for your music. You and Layne kept me from releasing my soul in the early '90s. I was directly in front of your guitar in San Jose in 2001. I was a first year teacher and grew up listening to AiC. After your set I had your set list from the stage in my hand and the stage guy shook is head; I put it right back. Everything that comes out of my mind comes out of my earholes and my voice box; I just can only play chords, without rhythm. Thank you for everything JC; LS, MS, SK, MI, and, yes, WD, too.
Really enjoyed this record. This docu was a treat.
So glad I went to see the tour for this album! One of the best live shows I’ve ever been to. 🤘🏻

Just the most amazing guitarist, fucking brilliant guitarist and an awesome storyteller. This doc shows how never forgets to mention Layne and how grateful he’s to have had him in his life and how much appreciates other musicians.

This was so cool to see. This record was a big part of my life when it came out and so cool to see moments of its creation. A bunch of powerful artists getting together and sharing, pushing each other. One of the highlights of this year was seeing the band play here in San Diego. Couldn't believe how close I was to the legend and getting to see his songs from all eras played in an intimate room. Thanks Jerry for sharing with us!

I always feel a great relief, lightheartedness when I see and hear Jerry Cantrell smile, laugh and giggle. He’s worked so hard to heal from a tumultuous past, he’s had to deal with tremendous loss but he’s determined to not let his musical spirit go to the grave. Good for him, them, US❣️🤌

It was awesome seeing you after all these years on Wednesday in Charleston. Crazy, I have a couple pictures from that concert in Spokane where you opened for great white. I should’ve brought them. 34 years ago this summer, time sure fricking flies bro. Made be a bit nostalgic thinking about the times sleeping in my car over in Seattle, pioneer square, the Moore theater.. wild times. You’re music has aged like a fine wine brother. Caught me by surprise when I saw you playing a telecaster. Then I went back and listened to the album and I’m like how’d I miss that. Excellent work you guys, now get down to Florida again bro.. I slept in my truck again to be on time for Charleston lol, life goes full circle.

1st time I heard Atone I was like this is different but I love it&now it's just one of my faves .I could nvr really listen to or watch AIC perform after Layne - just wasn't AIC to me anymore but I'm soooo glad Jerry went out on his own journey&kept evolving he's a musical genius.
Other these songs here right now in this video, I haven't heard this album yet. I want to buy it. I know, I am late to the party but I haven't bought anything for myself in over a year. I even haven't replaced my amps that were stolen from me. I have been paying my mom's copays every week for her cancer treatments. Very expensive to say the least. It's been hard.
So the reason for this reply is my mom and I play "Hurt A Long Time" from Boggy Depot every week to her Chemo treatments. She says the song speaks to her. Although the song isn't about her issues, she says the lyrics "Tell the kids that I loved them, Oh, it's a bad dream, I've got only time, Yeah, it's a bad dream"
She says those words, speaks to her inside very loudly. Thanks Jerry for making mom feel during all this.
I can't wait to buy this album and will do so when mom beats her cancer. Love this video.
