Group of dedicated grilling guys design, cut and weld a griddle plate to improve grilling. Same guys make a cardboard box smoker to put on same griddle. And here's the kicker - it works perfect and doesn't catch fire. LOL Great project and vid.
Literally LOL'd at your comment Mr T! Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment! Also noticed your subscribed so yeah,,, Thank you for that as well!! WE plan to keep pushing the envelope and having a good time! 😀 Griddle on Sir T! -N
Morning Bob! I am thinking this would be really fun during the summer, Get the smoke smell out there and people would be intrigued as to why you have a smoking cardboard box on a griddle LOL! Cheers! -N
That's great to hear! My family loves them and I personally think they are great so I am happy to have been able to share with you and your fam! Griddle on Zeb! -C
You Guys just have too much fun! I actually smoked some ribs on my 22" Blackstone last year while camping. My inspiration was from a you-tube video, sorry but I don't remember who it was. My Adventure Ready has the lid so didn't need a box. For the smoke I used a smoke tube with wood pellets. If I remember correctly, I had the ribs on a rack like you did. I also installed a temp guage in the lid to keep track of the temps. The ribs came out very good. You can do anything on a Blackstone Griddle. Fun video and I enjoyed watching it. Ron
Morning Ron! Another person mentioned a smoke gun... I had not even considered the smoke tube,,, those are affordable and I bet it would work GREAT! Thanks for taking the time to share! Griddle on bud! -N👍
Awesome experiment fellas! Jeff definitely needs to get to work on the homemade hood with strobe lights lol 😆. Always a entertaining adventure and glad you guys are back in 2023. Cheers 🍻
Good to hear from you Bat! Happy belated holidays! We appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. It helps alot with the YT algorithm. Griddle on and Cheers to 2023 bud! -N
OK, THAT looked like fun! Love hanging out with you guys (even though I'm in Albany). C'mon Jeff, you know you can come up with something in the hardware line to replace the cardboard box...but, Nate, that WAS a great idea!
Jeff was clearly not on board with my fine engineering job on the box lol. I guess the ball is in his court as to if he would build something better! Thanks for commenting Toga! Griddle on bud! -N

Haha this was awesome! I've actually done game hens on my 600, raised rack and domed to roast. Then right on the griddle to crisp the skin at the end. Love the smoke idea tho!
Sounds great and good to hear from you 2 Wheels! Excellent suggestion on roasting under a dome. Jeff and Chris both have one, I am going to suggest it to them. . Griddle on bud! -N

We never really used the backyard in the past and now, we have already been using it a ton! With any luck I will have a completed deck in the near future. Go for it! Watched the Kansas City Soup Video. Really liked that you used chuck roast in it. That cut has ton of flavor and gets over looked by so many folks. It's one of my favorites. Keep em coming bud! -N
Here's a tip buy those chunk pieces of wood at Lowes to do this using charcoal is bad it introduces the black soot to the food due to not constant flame. So the wood chunks are pure wood smoke you can also do it on the stove and in the oven. I made burgers in a frying pan smoke infused and it's amazing but in the frying pan use chips not chunks and in the oven can be either but wrapped in foil for both
If I was not being lazy,,, I could have grabbed the chop saw and some of the oak off my wood pile and made some chunks... Next time around I probably will. Great suggestions Jason! Thankyou! -N
I wondered about smoking on the griddle. I think it would be hard to do three very different meats at one time. Two helps; one for the smoke, one for the very different meats. Thanks guys. Oh, are there plans for the smoke box available.😎😎😎
After we were done I was had the thought,,, we should have said we were selling the boxes and there was a link in the description lol 😉 Thanks for watching Rick and for taking the time to comment! Cheers! -N
I use a smoking gun on my griddle and it works great. I used it on ribs, wings and other stuff. With a griddle, smoking gun, and a cooking torch who needs a wood burning smoker.
Your preaching to a choir on Christmas Sunday Bob. Both Jeff and I have "oversmoked" food. Thin smoke is the way to go. Heavy thick smoke and you run the risk of the food tasting like an ashtray.... Great comment and thanks for watching! Griddle on bud! -N

LOL,,, We were def 50/50 on if this would work or not. Jeff argued me to death that the box was simply going to light on fire,,, and if it did then hey, that would have been in the video to! Thanks for watching Bruce! Cheers! -N
i cold smoke butter and cheese on my griddle all winter the metal keeps everything perfectly cold and i use a smoke tube from pitboss easy peasy and smoked butter is amazing in sausage gravy
Excellent idea! How long do you smoke each for and what wood do you use? Sounds like an easy thing to do with a big return in flavor? Thanks for sharing it! -N
Whats up Rob! Hope your holidays were good! I had not even considered making a real box but... good suggestion! We are filming tonight and I will bring it up to Jeff. Griddle on bud! -N
My 22" Blackstone has the hinged lid/hood and I have smoked ribs on it using a smoke tube with pellets. I also installed a temp guage on the lid to keep track of the temps. My 36" has the lid/hood that is just for protection. Instructions say not to cook with it in place. Ron
@@kevinsummers7155 If your lid is hinged, you should be okay cooking with it down. Some people do that instead of using the dome covers, ie. melting cheese on burgers. You must have the culinary 36". I wish my 36" had the hinged lid. Ron
Yes! A few others have commented that they do the same thing but use a hood instead of a cardboard box (can't imagine why? I mean the box was a piece of high tech engineering... but anyway) They have also mentioned using smoke tubes, and smoke guns as opposed to the pan. I would think as long as you keep the meat up off the griddle surface and control the heat it would def work! Griddle on Kev! -N

The cardboard box on a griddle is a fire waiting to happen. A big metal lid or something similar would be a lot safer. Some idiots will try a box on the griddle on the back porch or somewhere with bad results.
Oh My, you guys should stick with normal griddle cooks. This was awful guys. You never wanna use wet sticks from your yard that have any mossy or fungal type growth on it first of all, you only use dry seasoned wood for smoking , in this case I get it was a weird experiment but you would have been better off just using the charcoal, lump would be best and never match lite type stuff. For anything. I would recommend one of you get an actual smoker or at least a weber kettle if you want to try out some real Q. Good luck
Smoke ring? Maybe… You guys really push the envelope (in a good way). You need to market this idea, “Box O’ Smoke, “Set it, but don’t forget it”, Redneck Cardboard Goodness.?” Wait till Hussy sees this!
