You create magic! Many women used to know how to stretch a dollar but we have lost that skill. Thank you for showing us how it's done!
Another tip: you can add chick peas to the coconut curry dish instead of rice. It adds a starch, bulks out the dish, and tastes delicious! Love your videos! I am binge watching them. ❤

Hello! I know cooking all day is exhausting when you're healthy, add in pain & that's totally different game. WE are pain warriors! As we do this fighting thru constant pain to hopefully feed our families healthy, delicious & well balanced meals. If you understand pain, you will understand what I mean. I personally think your kitchen is beautiful & perfect for you. Everything is close & perfect for your well being. The last thing you need is extra or unnecessary steps. The rude comment (a few videos back) bothers me SO very much! Hopefully enough positive comments washed away the negativity. I won't bring it up again, however please know what a great service you're doing for so many.
God bless you & your family.

I break it up when tired or busy. Just do a couple of meal prep dishes or cut up ingredients a few hours earlier. We have to keep it manageable.

Yes I like how many meals you get for your money some people say when I cook a big lot of either chicken and vegetable soup or just vegetable soup how much do you spend I said I don't care what I spend I spend what I have to I buy about between 10 to 12 vegetables and I buy a big thing of good chicken breast it might come to about between $75 to $120 dollers it depends on how much my vegetables are sometimes there are dear and sometimes I can get them cheap I sa it depends on how much it costs to get about 10 services of chicken and vegetable soup and about 8 of just vegetables so that is 18 or so services then you work out how much it costs per meal for dinner I am not a big eater so.iitabout between $6.50 to 8.00 a service depends on how much chicken I put in each serve vegetable soup would be between $4.70 to $5..30 per service depending on how much it cost me

Wow it surprises me that people say there is not enough meat.... considering the RDA is 4oz to 8 oz a day...plus you have all those beans. I think people are use to eating too much meat...your budget grocery haul could easily give you enough for the week. Great Job... Everything looks great!

You do such a good job making any amount money work. It encourages me each time I watch you. Today I went to my fridge and freezer and made up 6 dinner meal ideas with what I found. My 6 are: in no real order: Hamburgers, potatoe wedges, Egg roll in a bowl, Potatoe soup, a loaf of homemade bread and green salad, Tofu-Kale Sauté with fried rice, Chili with beef and beans, topped with some cheese and cornbread, Shrimp Scampi over noodles, broccoli
I surprised myself that I had nearly everything I needed to make these dinners. There is a small grocery pick up I will need to do before the end of the week for missing ingredients.
You were really tired doing all the work you did. I felt like you should only do shorter videos and not burn yourself out. I am 65. I live in N. Idaho, USA. I do all my meal preparation in the morning hours. I am bushed in the late afternoon. We are currently a family of 7. Two teenage grandchildren are with us while their mom finishes up some schooling, My husband and myself, Our 20 year old daughter, a newborn (11 days old)
    and the newborn’s dad.
We cook all our meals at home so managing the kitchen and food supply is a full time job of sorts.
Thanks again. You really did get me out of my funk and busy solving some food organization issues. Lori

mixing it into risotto instead of Parmesan cheese

stir it into creamy soups for added nutrients
adding it to scrambled eggs or a tofu scramble
mixing it into a nut roast or stuffing,,,,

You did amazing! My mom grew up through the Great Depression in TX. They were cotton farmers and with 12 kids they had a huge garden and raised their own meat. She was the baby and started cooking for all of them at a very young age while they all worked the fields. She only knew how to cook for 14 and made huge batches of everything so our freezer was always full. I learned to cook from her and also cook for an army. I love how you have such a diverse amount of recipes! I hope all young folks learn about your channel! Thanks for sharing but don’t ware yourself out 💖💞

Along the idea of onion scones, roll out some dough and add little bits of leftovers, roll into pinwheels and top with herbs and spices. Yes, flour will stretch meals a long way.
Cook the apple cores down and press through a colander to get every bit of apple for an apple sauce, a spread for toast or maybe popsicles to cool you down from the kitchen heat.

@ProudCanadian-vv6bk yes, we make coins and notes for many countries. We originally got the polymer notes from Australia then made our own. That's why there are so many anti-counterfeiting features, some of which are quite slick. Our notes have had braille for years, even the old paper notes.

I used to make a chow mien , it’s similar to your curry using mince , I added some raw rice and a packet of chicken noodle soup, bulk it out with more cabbage , other leftover veggies can be added if you wish , serve with rice .

With the leftover eggs, could fry an egg to add on top of the bean burgers if people are worried about protein, or just for the yolk drizzle.

  • @lindc1070
    @lindc1070 4 месяца назад

If you add some cooked rice to the mince curry with veg, you could have a stir fried rice. I usually do that with frozen veg like corn, peas and carrot or fresh cabbage, coriander, french beans. A one dish meal.

I love your traditional old school way of cooking. Reminds me of how I grew up. Nothing fancy but kai was always wholesome and filling. And the carving with the fork in the mash with the fish pie, is humbly awesome

When you were talking about the slurry it made me remember that my mum made flour dumplings to expand the dish and it was always my favourite part! Also she used baked beans in savoury mince as it added tomato sauce and more protein. I hate baked beans but love it cooked like that.

Hi Stacey this is what i was told as a teen, putting 1 teaspoonof salt in your pot when boiling eggs, will stop the shell cracking while cooking,
So ive always done it, never had an egg crack prematurely.
    In 60 yrs, i say it works.😮
