You did awesome! And no shame in the chicken dumplings using the back meat and odds and ends that’s how my memaw, mom, stepmom, grandma Polack and grandma cookoo all did it only difference they all added poultry seasoning or at least sage but nothing beats the simplicity and warmth than a bowl of chicken and dumplings! This menu was spot on! I also had a good chuckle when you mentioned how your one son just wanted a tomato sandwich- my husband always knew before I did when I was pregnant because I started eating those like they were going out of style. Just toasted white bread with Mayo and sliced tomatoes, salt and pepper - I’d eat them morning, noon and night and snacks in between couldn’t get enough of them and here we are with our youngest and her favorite food in the world is a tomato, she eats them like apples every frickin’ day and has her entire 17 years and our oldest who just gave birth to our first grandchild did the same thing and lived off of tomato sandwiches on toast…maybe something to do with the fact their technically a fruit but are sold as veggies, who cares - their tasty!

Love watching people's extreme grocery hauls ,especially when you do it. You come up with some of the most creative and appetizing meals for your family. I calculated how much these items would cost me. I had to base it all on Walmart, as I live in Oregon and we, sadly, don't have Aldi. My Walmart price would of been $57.74 for the items you listed you purchased. Our watermelon here was DOUBLE what you spent ( 5.98 here) and get this.... 10lb bag of Gold Leaf ( they don't sell Perdue brand 10lb bags of chicken here-- only Gold Leaf) would cost ........$9.08 here!! I about choked when I saw that price! You shopped smart and reasonably priced. Thanks for all you share with us. You are so fun to watch!

I used it as a reminder video is I knew there were things in there I had forgotten. Times have gotten tougher this is an even better idea now. Since I live by myself I had to alter the amount of food I made at a time or I would be eating each dish for 5 days.. even though you're cooking for five, single people can still get some great ideas of stuff to make. Cheap. 😋 Bless you and your family Brooke. From a Central Florida poor senior citizen.

I've been binge watching your frugal meal vids and I love them! Obviously pricing differs here in Canada, but I love these ideas. I freely admit I'm not a skilled cook, and I don't enjoy cooking. It's something I have to do to have food. Many videos on how to cook economically REALLY start with very basic ingredients and assume you are a skilled cook - What I love about your recipes is there are some are suitable for people of all abilities. I''ve learned a lot of ideas from your videos that use things I already buy, like frozen veg and tortillas - but I always make the same three things - because that's all I know. I didn't think my repertoire could be expanded considering my skill level, but many of your vids are totally do-able for me! Many thanks again for all the work you do.

I have most of this in my "just in case" pantry. Minus just a handful of things. I took a look in my freezer and pantry and can pull off most of this. A dozen eggs here are around 2.60 a month ago at Aldi and Walmart. I went to the food pantry and got 2 dozen eggs from them. I'm afraid to see how much it has gone up since I last bought them.
Anyway, I love watching your videos. I have 3 boys. One of my boys does the faint as well. The other two do thumb up or down. I have two ASD SPD ADHD boys so it is harder to be creative. They should eat a few of these and I'm excited to try. Thank you!

I peel/dice sweet potatoes and put in chili sometimes It stretches it and cuts the spice,if I overdo it

I think boned chicken is a better buy, because you can season broth with the bones. You made a whole meal with the back bones and 1 thigh!! Great job!!👍

Some alternative options: ALDI has sausage rolls for $1.88, boxes of cereal for $1.25-$1.45 for breakfast, they also have polish sausage that can be cut up for multiple meals. We’ve been using the sausage rolls in spaghetti instead of hamburger because it’s cheaper and tastes great.

You can never go wrong with chicken & dumplings. I'm cheep and don't buy the biscuit mix. I do flour salt baking powder mix in water. Great 👍

Don't you love those chicken quarters? I freeze them too and you can do so much with them. They are so cheap you don't have to wait for a sale!

Very impressive stretch of your money, Brooke. I like watching you because you make things that we would and do eat but I don't always think to make it your way, like chicken quesadillas- we eat chicken and quesadillas but I never think to put the chicken in there. I may have to try that BBQ chicken soon. Thanks for sharing, especially the cost breakdown and recipes in the description so others can see what is doable for them.

Once again another freaking awesome video! I totally love how you shared so much with what you got...definitely loved how you shared how to make nothing out of something as you said. Had no idea you could do that with chicken spines. I also love how simple and easy you make everything! Thanks so much for being you and giving me some awesome ideas for my family 😍😊

You are so right it is so hot here in Tennessee and I have been out in the garden girl I am praying for fall for snow for anything cold I am afraid one of my kids will find me passed out in the garden too many days of 100 + degree weather it's so humid. Be careful in the garden take care lady.
