I’m Cajun and you did a great job on those beans. A tip if the beans are a little watery when done. Take about a cup of the cooked beans and mash them well and add back to the pot. They will help thicken the mixture 😊
Just a hint NOT a complaint! 😊, I went through my cabinet the other day because I'm losing my eye sight. I put everything in order like a grocery store. Like all my same cans of green bean in a line and so on. Now I not only now what I have but where everything is. That might help you as well.
I do that too but I think I’m OCD. Now, my snack shelf in my pantry is a different story. The grandkids come and it looks like a tornado hit it within minutes 😂😂
I'm so glad you had a new post today. I haven't any family and I have severe depression. I think you would make such a nice mama and it was good to watch you.
I love the fact that when you discovered the chicken was gone, you simply went to the freezer, found something and went in another direction for dinner. I have done that on many occasions!
My husband loves cornbread dressing with pork chops!!!! I spent $24 on meat this week for 9 dinners for 3. $4.98 Rotisserie Chicken, $4.61 Whole chicken, 2 Sirloin Tip Steak Managers Special $4.20 & $5.55, I pkg Aidells Chicken Sausage #3.99. I LOVE a great deal for my budget. Saving 2 chicken carcass to make broth. You inspire me to think outside the box. Love your budget friendly videos.
The pats on the pancakes with the smiley spatula made me giggle 😆 new sub here, I love you and your videos, and your boys tasting what you cook, so cute! I have 2 boys myself. 🥰
I use hamburger patties to make meat sauce for pasta also..especially when they're on sale, or I have a few left in the freezer.😉 Some great meals there!
Last night I did a taco chili is what we called it. Hamburger, taco seasoning, corn, black beans and salsa. Top with cheese and sour cream. I kept all the juices in the cans. So good even better today.
Love this video, these are very helpful. You are totally an inspiration lady. Pretty sure you are the most genuine you tuber I have ever watched love that so much!!
I'm a retired in home caregiver and the favorite part of my job was shopping and cooking, but I can no longer cook like I used to because of back issues. So it feels good to watch you cook 😊.
I love that pancake mix from Sam's club. I usually make about 50 pancakes and freeze them. Saves me to much time! I'm making the chicken dish as I watch the rest of the video!
I’ve never heard of cash stuffing until you mentioned it recently. This is my 2nd week of doing it and I’ve already saved about $140 on my groceries/household budget. There’s more control when not using a debit card. Less tempting to overspend this way. Thank you!
I'm one person and eat 3 meals a day,and most of the time my grocery bills runs around $40.00. So I think you do a wonderful job feeding your family on $50.00.We have sales tax on food here in ks.which is 6.75 % right now so actually I spend around $37.00 per week. By the way your food that you cooked looks delicious.
My late husband's family loved "soupy potatoes" as they called them. Of course I grew to love them too. They are especially good with new peas thrown in. My favorite❤
lol... you crack me up.. I love your down to earth videos... and the meals look AMAZING.. i do the rice and chicken all the time.. but the pork chops.. i am going to try that.. it looked sooooooooo good... I wanted to reach thru the screen and grab me some.. Love you Brooke.. and your sweet family, and our very bubbly personality!! Thank you!!!
I made your boiled butter potatoes the other night and they are my new favorite. I sprinkled with some dried parsley flakes to make them pretty. I can't believe I had never heard of those before you introduced me. Mashed potatoes were always my go to, but this doesn't even need milk and my taste buds prefer it. Thank you for sharing!
32:30 ROFL!!!!! I’m not a pork chop kinda gal but that crockpot meal with stuffing looked SO DELICIOUS! so many great recipes in this video! As a home schooling momma… your lunch ideas? I’m SO grateful for them! Thank you Brooke ❤❤❤
Brooke! I love your videos. So helpful in these times of inflation when every penny counts! Thank you! The Red Beans & Rice using the Jambalaya mix looks awesome! A definite MUST try!
Brooke, I noticed you used your Trader Joe’s frozen corn in the burrito bowls. I buy their roasted frozen corn for burrito bowls! That charred corn flavor is great!!
New subbie here, and I love, love, love. your videos!! You are definitely my kind of cook. Waste not, want not. Or as my Mama used to say " A woman can throw out more in a teaspoon, than a man can bring home in a shovel", she was a wise frugal woman. Thanks for sharing these recipes, I will definitely be trying the chicken and rice bake, and the red beans and rice. Blessings to you and your family!
You’ve inspired me to make my kitchen more colorful with some of the pioneer woman stuff! I love your content! Definitely trying the stuffing crockpot recipe this weekend 🙂
I got my grand daughter one of those little noodle cookers for Christmas and she absolutely loves it!!! Best $10 I ever spent!!! I love Brooke so much!!!!!
Good Morning Beautiful Friend!!! You are such a bright light of joy and happiness; I enjoy your videos so much. Thank you for all of your hard work. Much love to you and your family! Have a great day!
Hi Brooke! Another great job on a cooking video. I have one suggestion for the little tortillas. Lightly toast them before you make the sandwiches… It really brings them up a notch and brings out the flavor. ❤😊
Good job. You always blow my mind. It always good to have a good recipe on hand for those type of baking I feel like. If you have a good roll recipe I would like to see it. I always do frozen for a group party but my rolls turn out to be mushrooms top rolls lol I don't know why.
I from North Carolina I am So thankful I found your channel I have cook several meals for my family and they have enjoyed every bit of it thank you so much keep doing what you're doing and your macaroni is the best I have had so far
When I have an abundance of potatoes, I make potato soup because my husband loves it. Sometimes I add ham or bacon bits to it. Sometimes broccoli pieces or corn. We top it with cheddar cheese.
For onions and I promise it works! I always wet a paper towel and put it by me while chopping my onions and no more tears. I was shocked that it works, but yes it does.
In my family you can eat what ever you want at any time we eat biscuits and gravy sausage at any time of the day even pancakes, they like rice as cereal with butter sugar and milk it just doesn't matter all that matters is they don't go to bed hungry.!
Brooke, your meals look wonderful and so creative for a budget amount. I love your personality and your little guy makes me laugh when he reviews your food. What a character. Also, I really like all your turquoise in your kitchen.
A new video 📹 ✨ 😍 just how I was hoping to start my day!!! TY Brooke 💕 I know how much work these daily filming vids take 🤩🥰🥂 Sending love from Ontario 🇨🇦
What a great job!! I cook for just one now after cooking for 5 for many years. It's hard to make the transition but your ideas are just the kind of thing I did to get us thru my nursing school on a firefighters' salary. We had a garden and and always kept a fully stocked pantry. The idea was to never NEED anything and be able to turn on a dime and change your plan. We were poor but we ate good!
Thank you for another great video. You make me brave enough to try what you call "winging it". Although I am almost 60 years old, but because I have never married or had a family, I have eaten out most of my adult life so cooking is not a strong suit of mine. Anytime I have tried some things without a recipe it usually hasn't turned out very well. You have given me the courage to try again.😊
Brooke i have to tell you i got a great deal on potatoes. Walmart is trying to get rid of overstock i got a 5 pound bag of russets for $1 i bought 25 pounds i am going to can potatoes i just found out i am allergic to the cans that they use for all canned food so i am going to start canning all of my food from fresh and from scratch. I love your low spend month i am trying to do this too. I hope you have a great week.
Great video. I'm gonna do that Taco Bell potatoes one today. The kids are so sweet. I am jealous of Ryder's hair it is so thick and healthy looking, and that is a good cut for him. He will be a definite heartbreaker, so handsome! Thank you so much for the great meal examples. I am 73 and will put it to use making my food more efficiently, and will stimulate my palate away from the usuals over and over.❤❤❤❤❤
I have seen folks say they spend $40 on groceries per week as a single person. So do I. And here's the reason. A loaf of bread $5.99 is the same price for a single as it is for a family. A single may have more bread slices left over at the end of a week but the original cost is the same. Another example a bag of potatos is the same price no matter family size. So, to cut back as a single buy 1-2 individual potatos lower total cost but higher individual price OR, one week buy Potatos next week Meat for 2 -3 weeks, next Veggies and so on. So each week you purchase just a few items for a month's worth or 2 weeks worth of meals.
Those burrito bowls look so good! I just got some chicken yesterday at Aldi that was 50% off! Yay! And I need to use some today. Burrito bowl for the win! 💝 We go through a Bunch of pancake mix. Lol That's like a go to breakfast/ lunch or even dinner here. Lol
I haven't been grocery shopping since the first week of January. I had split pea soup for supper last night with cornbread and I will have a cup of split pea soup for lunch with one or two slices of pizza. Tonight's supper is uncertain; however, I might stay for supper with my son, Paul after he comes home from work.
I am eating all lower carb foods. I only eat mostly meats and milk products. The way I can do it on my foods budget. I buy my meats on sale and I stock up then.I going to the stores early in the morning to get the meats mark down.
I haven't wanted an instant pot, but now that I know I can make spaghetti all in one, I gotta have an instant pot. I've used cream of chicken soup in place of cream of mushroom soup many times, even with pork chops, and it works great
The very best mashed potatoes--peel, cube and boil till soft. Add 2 tablespoons butter, salt, pepper and evaporated milk until you get them to the mashed consistency you like.
I make chicken wraps all the time by thinly slicing chicken whether it’s leftovers, smoked, chicken stripes etc all the time. It stretches the chicken and uses up left overs when we have them. I usually just use shredded lettuce, tomato if I have it and ranch
Hi Brooke this is Sue, l am gonna be making that Knorr chicken recipe, it looks yummy, and my kinda cooking, lol.. When l seen you make those potatoes in the air fryer, it reminded me of my double cheese potatoes.,, cube them like your did, par boil 10 minutes, put in a casserol dish, and a cheese sauce, (l just use packets) and mix, and then put some chedder on top and bake, OMG there so good, and they freeze up well too. Thanks for more ideal, The pork chop one looked good, might make that with chicken, hubby is the only one who eats pork, (my tummy doesn't like it), so we eat alot of chicken. and beef.
Thank you, Brooke, for the chicken marsala recipe. That was my favorite meal, my dear belated fiance (2015), would prepare for me. I'm going to try your recipe to see if it compares to his preparation. I'm not much of a cook, but occasionally, I surprise myself. 😊
Thank you for all the recipes and ideas for meals on a budget. i can't wait to try more of your recipes and it really does help with a limited budget and using what I have. Always need to make do with what I have to keep from going back to the store for something else. Love your videos.
I had forgotten about making boiled potatoes like that! When I lived at home, we did the same thing and added some sliced American cheese on top. It was one of my first things I learned to cook and also one of my favorites!
I am so happy you showed the Marcella wine. I have it in my grocery cart for delivery. I have always wanted to try it but I thought you had to use actual wine I didn’t know there was a cooking wine because we don’t drink so thanks for another awesome video, and I will definitely be making the marsala wine and those creamy potato sidesand the brussels sprouts can’t wait
I just heard than running an insulated oven at 350 degrees for 12 hours costs 0.50 cents. And the cost of a crockpot running costs way more. I always sear my meat before I add it to the crockpot. It adds way more flavor than any spice you could add, ever! I won't be lazy, when it comes to meat, it's price and it's drippings! Love your show girlfriend. Remember the Appalachian in ya girl!
I always buy a big tub of plain whole-milk Greek Yogurt and we use it in place of sour cream and in overnight oats. If you haven't opened it, yogurt lasts well past its best by/sell by date. I NEVER pay full price for anything and this is no exception. I buy it marked down.
You always do such an awesome job with your wonderful money-saving delicious dinners that look so easy thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration God bless you and your family 🍑
I made something like the chicken and rice tonight. I had some chicken in the freezer with lemon garlic marinade and a package of knorr chicken and broccoli rice. I used about 2 1/4 cups of broth from cooking chicken the other day. When it was done baking I put a little bit of shredded cheddar cheese on top and melted it. Everyone (except my youngest daughter who doesn't like anything) loved it. Thanks for the idea. I never would have cooked the packet of rice like that in the oven. One dish and done. Yay! I'm doing the pork chops tomorrow night. I'm sure that will be delicious too!! Thanks for the ideas. And just wanted to let you know. There are a lot of other budget shopping and cooking channels on RUclips and I watch some, but I don't enjoy any as much as I enjoy yours. Yours are awesome! ❤️👍
You can peel and cut up your potatoes, par boil, lay in single layer on a baking sheet to freeze. Once somewhat frozen, throw in a ziplock for the freezer, this way they don't stick together. Then can grab out however much you need. There are some RUclips videos out there about it.
Ty for sharing your videos. I m learning to stretch meals as far as I can. A bag if meatballs for 9.99 I divide for 3 meals for just us 2. Chopped up 1/3 bag of meatballs with taco seasoning makes taco meat for 2 ...another 1/3 rd bag of meatballs chopped up is bottom layer for shephards pie meat already seasoned and lastly the last 1/3 bag of meatballs is just meatballs for spaghetti and meatballs. 3 dinners out of one large bag of meatballs. For 2 persons or 3. Could do hot meatballs subs as well. Add subroll bread and cheese...
I was guessing the red beans and rice would be the substitute. I’d love to make the potato Taco Bell meal. There are so many meals I want to try from this video. While back I made Mac n Cheese. I didn’t know the cheese sauce in the box since I used it another time. Since you shared about the nacho sauce from DT I used it for my noodles. I need to pick up some more.
You can plant those parts of the potatoes that have eyes and grow your own potatoes. I did that last year, I live in the foothills of NC so you should be able to do it too.
I might try the pork and stuffing. I like to put pork chops in a casserole dish, add cream of mushrooms soup,(no liquid - it makes it's own juice. Season to taste...salt, pepper, garlic, onion, sometimes green pepper. Cover with foil and bake. About 30 minutes before done, drain sliced canned potatoes and put in. Fnish cooking. Meat, potatoes and gravy in one dish.
I know I'm late to the party. A year late. Lol. When i worked in a school cafeteria. We made the kids mcgriddle sandwiches. After the pancakes were made. We dipped one side of a pancake in syrup. Topped that side with a sausage patty and scrambled egg. Dipped the second pancake one side in syrup and put that side down on the egg. Mcgriddle sandwiches
Haven't watched yet but already giving a like. Because your content is great. Had to listen to Miley Cyrus at 4 am this morning.. lordy that song will b in my head all day. My whole family is sick. I've got croop aka covic. ... And pretty sure them at home test lie like a dog. Cause my husband and son r negative but pretty sure nope. Thank you for the great content and being sincere.
I’m Cajun and you did a great job on those beans. A tip if the beans are a little watery when done. Take about a cup of the cooked beans and mash them well and add back to the pot. They will help thicken the mixture 😊

It’s funny, sometimes I do this, and I get so busy, within a week it’s chaos again. 😂 It’s a vicious cycle lol
I do the same for the same reason
well I think you gave me good ides as my eye slight is not as good as it use to be.
I just bought a 4 or 5 shelf stand..To organize my non-perishables. So much easier to do it like you suggested

I love that pancake mix from Sam's club. I usually make about 50 pancakes and freeze them. Saves me to much time! I'm making the chicken dish as I watch the rest of the video!
You can make pancakes batter to make homemade onion rings and they are really delicious
I’ve never heard of cash stuffing until you mentioned it recently. This is my 2nd week of doing it and I’ve already saved about $140 on my groceries/household budget. There’s more control when not using a debit card. Less tempting to overspend this way. Thank you!
Ms Brooke, I'm watching u shake out the mushroom soup when I notice I'm squeezing and shaking my phone like it's gonna help ya 😁
Ha Ha Ha. That was funny.
I'm one person and eat 3 meals a day,and most of the time my grocery bills runs around $40.00. By the way your food that you cooked looks delicious.
Wow, in Texas our sales tax is 9%!
Ks just went down on food which used to be higher.
Depends on where I shop I can keep my grocery budget at 20 to 25. I have two main stores I shop at.
Another tasty way to fix pork chops is to season with lemon pepper and either pan fry in butter/oil or bake in the oven.
That 50 dollar budget was excellent you ate well all week 👏
I am learning so much from you, and I thank you for keeping me company while working from home. ❤
My late husband's family loved "soupy potatoes" as they called them. Of course I grew to love them too. They are especially good with new peas thrown in. My favorite❤

Thanks for more ideal, The pork chop one looked good, might make that with chicken, hubby is the only one who eats pork, (my tummy doesn't like it), so we eat alot of chicken. and beef.
You always have great ideas for cooking 😋
Add parsley to your boiled potatoes, soooo good!!
Thank you, Brooke, for the chicken marsala recipe. That was my favorite meal, my dear belated fiance (2015), would prepare for me. I'm going to try your recipe to see if it compares to his preparation. I'm not much of a cook, but occasionally, I surprise myself. 😊
Enjoy her boys being the taste testers anf hubby too 😊
Brooke Thank you for sharing your meals. I will be trying that pork chops and stuffing. Great inspiration today.
People forget that potatoes are a VEGETABLE so when people complain remind them lol. Love your ideas. 💜🥳
To thicken the red beans, too,
you can mash the beans slightly with a potato masher
Use your mini pancake maker to make the mcgriddles!!! That's the first thing I made when I bought mine! Lol
