Talk about serendipity, you don't know me, but I'm your dad's cousin, Linda. I have ET, and I really don't know how I came across your video. I was doing some research on Steadiwear to see if it is even an option for me, when I recognized your face. It took me a minute to place it, but couldn't help but see your mom in you. Anyhow, I am very impressed with your video and will be trying out your suggestions. Keep going girl! We need more people like you helping us "shakers"!

Worked in surgery for 19 years. I'm now a volunteer on a street medicine team that delivers quality primary health care to those in homelessness. In my scrub and 1st assistant duties I never had to do things like blood draws. Now with my volunteer work I wanted to be able to draw blood on our homeless patients so I went to take a 12 week course in phlebotomy. I passed but it was so embarrassing with my essential tremors which began about 1 1/2 ago. My tremors are worse in the morning and in my right hand. So I just tried to use my left hand to draw blood (I write with my right hand but do everything else with my left hand) and since my left hand tremors are very minimal it worked. But hated anyone seeing my right hand shake when writing. Any advice for me? I am going to use your techniques. My hands have been so important to me in my work.

The “doctors” here think it’s all my anxiety, they took away the only medication that helped and now I’m a shaky mess and I avoid most things because I shake like a damn leaf and have no energy to interact with people. It’s all normal apparently. I figured out the finger flick thing by myself, it’s a temporary small improvement.

Your sound volume is too low for me to be able to hear much of what you say. Or maybe you could blame my crappy little computer speakers. But I think I understand most of what you say. My neurologist wanted me to start taking propanerol (or whatever it's called) before trying anything else such as MRI guided ultrasound treatments. But I don't want to be placed indefinitely on possibly addictive pills.

Thank you so much. I have essential tremor that’s progressing and I am needing more work arounds. Curious about the wrist splint and the idea of cooling the arm before using the arm. I’m curious what you do there? Like wrap all the way around forearm with large ice pack or smaller ice pack to certain area of forearm.
The bracing of one hand to use the better hand helps for me some but i try to paint my nails and it’s pretty messy. I literally have to hold the brush in my left and prop it and then steer other hand’s nails under the brush and drag them under. Still very messy but I eek out painted nails and let the excess polish (that always ends up all over my skin) soak off in the bath to loosen it from skin and then scrub gently with washcloth on the skin painted by accident. It’s super frustrating but I usually eek it out. Looking forward to following you.

While I look forward to the information, I find your excessive hand fluttering and clasping distracting and your enthusiasm is a bit on the syrupy side. Even good things should be done in moderation and with some degree of being calm. It's as if you're about to become married. Just breath deeply and relax a little. Many thanks otherwise. .... Alas, I found the solution: just listen without looking at the screen or close my eyes. :)
