I have muscular dystrophy and while it is not anywhere near what Shane is going through, I can understand it. I have weakness in my legs and ankles and my feet are starting to be affected by it. I have had numerous people ask me if I'm capable of sex. I can understand a partner who is just getting to know me asking me that but it's pretty creepy when people out in public ask me this. I'm sorry that you've had to face such things as that, I know how it feels. Thank you for helping to dispel the myths and stigma surrounding disability. Also, I like where you said if anyone is uncomfortable with the subject matter, just don't watch. That's exactly it. I had a horrible time after the second bad driver hit me (yes that’s possible lol) but my leg and arm muscles were severely atrophied and an ex of mine reminded me daily that I was nothing and that no one would ever want me again. Same! My Husband has finally gotten used to the constant, random tears that happen so much in the last 20 years. He used to ask me what was wrong over & over when I’d be sitting there crying during a RUclips video, a commercial or semi sad thing that was happening on a TV show or movie. I think the way the courtship, or the path it went was perfect. Too many people think they found their soulmate just to end up in divorce a few years after. The long distance in the beginning of your relationship gave you both time to get to know one another more so then if you were in the same town and dating. I imagine you two shared things that on the other hand you may have never talked about. By the time you both met, you knew the direction you both wanted things to go..the love was very apparent! What I see in you two that a lot of couples have lost is that heart felt need and want you feel for each other. When you two got together, there was/is no second guessing..wondering if you both made the right decision’s. You both knew the future was going to be one where you would always be together. You built your life’s together from then on! No second guessing!

OMGosh!! I just loved the "fan art"!! Those pics were so good, I don't know which one I liked the best, but they will all look great in your home. When I looked at this topic I was a little nervous, as a parent of a young man who is in a wheelchair and has multiple disabilities, I'm torn between advocating and educating others about people with disabilities actually are sexual beings, perhaps just a bit different than a typical non-disabled person. However, I am a parent, and I no more want to know about my families details than kids want to hear about their parents. But I do believe there are so many misconceptions about people with disabilities and sexuality. There is no one single way for any of us to enjoy our sexuality, we're all just a mixed bag of emotions and feelings, both physical and mental, as long as it's legal and consensual alls fair in love and romance!

I have muscular dystrophy and while it is not anywhere near what Shane is going through, I can understand it. I have weakness in my legs and ankles and my feet are starting to be affected by it. I have had numerous people ask me if I'm capable of sex. I can understand a partner who is just getting to know me asking me that but it's pretty creepy when people out in public ask me this. I'm sorry that you've had to face such things as that, I know how it feels. Thank you for helping to dispel the myths and stigma surrounding disability. Also, I like where you said if anyone is uncomfortable with the subject matter, just don't watch. That's exactly it. And one must be thick skinned to be objectified & then criticized - which i believe these two are doing a great job at representing their lives and hopefully putting ppl in their proverbial places w.o harsh or insecure negative effects... if people want understanding & acceptance they also must accept that not everyone will do that... and thats not wrong either & therefore attacking alternative opinions negates anything as far as progress & understanding goes.) And I agree. 💛 we all hv something wrong w us (majority anyway) or have some kind of deficiency. Some more obvious than others - in my experience and my love life - less than "perfect" is perfect to me even if seggs is unconventional-if the love is genuine - then the seggs is easy.... The worst issues are those you cannot see. Such as - apathy - cruelty - narcissism - insecurities - selfishness - mental issues that people refuse to acknowledge/heal from & grow out of.... those "disabilities " are so much worse & difficult to perceive... a physical issue is easier to overcome and help in a partner/spouse. Lord help those that fall prey to falling in love w someone devoid of compassion & inability to give or receive selfless love..... So many have such a short attention span & anytime any effort has to be put into something it's easier to toss people aside. But. Anything in life worth having - is rarely easily come by especially love & devotion & grace/mercy.
My only expertise is my own life and being married to someone who is physically disabled. 21 years this May... and he's worth every bit of hassle & aggravation his disease has caused us and I'm grateful he's still with me. I don't deserve him and ... I know beyond any doubt I have never been loved more by another person... I hope to one day be the woman he believes me to be and wld walk thru any hell to help ease any bumps in the road through this life for him - bc he's more than loved me through all of my seasons. Even when i was truly unlovable.
When people put their lives out there for the world to see others are going to be curious about certain things.

I think the way the courtship, or the path it went was perfect. Too many people think they found their soulmate just to end up in divorce a few years after. The long distance in the beginning of your relationship gave you both time to get to know one another more so then if you were in the same town and dating. I imagine you two shared things that on the other hand you may have never talked about. By the time you both met, you knew the direction you both wanted things to go..the love was very apparent!
What I see in you two that a lot of couples have lost is that heart felt need and want you feel for each other. When I looked at this topic I was a little nervous, as a parent of a young man who is in a wheelchair and has multiple disabilities, I'm torn between advocating and educating others about people with disabilities actually are sexual beings, perhaps just a bit different than a typical non-disabled person. However, I am a parent, and I no more want to know about my families details than kids want to hear about their parents. But I do believe there are so many misconceptions about people with disabilities and sexuality. There is no one single way for any of us to enjoy our sexuality, we're all just a mixed bag of emotions and feelings, both physical and mental, as long as it's legal and consensual alls fair in love and romance!
