You nutjobs need to stop with this end times nonsense.
Jesus as a failed apocalyptic prophet is the general consensus of critical scholarship, even critical Christian scholars like Dale Allison. The Son of Man (Jesus himself?) was supposed to be an end of the world arbiter, as Bart Ehrman points out in his lecture referenced below, and as the Bible states he was supposed to come *within the lifetime* of Jesus’s followers. *It didn't happen.*
Read the article from the former Christian apologist and Tim O'Neill (former Christian), who has been studying the scholarship and history for decades, referenced below as well.
*Jesus falsely prophesied his return in the 1st century*
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; ***and then he shall reward every man according to his works.***
Truly I tell you, ***some who are standing here will not taste death*** before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom Matthew 16:27-28
Truly I tell you, ***some who are standing here*** will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God Luke 9:27
Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened Mark 13:30
      The sun will be darkened,
      and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened Matthew 24:29-34
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. When you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened Luke 21:25-32
*Jesus promised to return over 2, 000 years ago and he still hasn’t.*
Jesus and the angels never appeared from Heaven, the stars never fell from the sky, none of these things happened. Nothing he prophesied happened.
***Apologists can try to spin this, but the simple fact is that Jesus was either wrong or misquoted.***
According to the Bible that makes Jesus a false prophet or misquoted (and if Jesus is misquoted than the Bible is not inerrant or the word of God)
How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord? If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken Deuteronomy 18:21-22
*Jesus falsely prophesied to the high priest and the Sanhedrin*
Jesus also falsely prophesied to the high priest and the Sanhedrin (assemblies of either twenty-three or seventy-one rabbis appointed to sit as a tribunal)
You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and ***coming on the clouds of heaven*** Matthew 26:64 Mark 14:62
Except the high priest and the Sanhedrin never saw Jesus sitting at the right hand side of God, or coming on the clouds of heaven, or any such thing.
      *Jesus falsely prophesied to Nathaniel*
Jesus also falsely prophesied to Nathanael when he declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.”
Jesus said, You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that. He then added, ***“Very truly I tell you, you will see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man*** John 1:50-51
*Nathanael never saw any such thing. Neither did anyone else.*
The following quote from Stephen L. Harris, Professor Emeritus of Humanities and Religious Studies at California State University- Sacramento, completes this point with a devastating argument.
*Jesus did not accomplish what Israel’s prophets said the Messiah was commissioned to do:* He did not deliver the covenant people from their Gentile enemies, reassemble those scattered in the Diaspora, restore the Davidic kingdom, or establish universal peace (cf.Isa. 9:6-7; 11:7-12:16, etc.). Instead of freeing Jews from oppressors and thereby fulfilling God’s ancient promises-for land, nationhood, kingship, and blessing- *Jesus died a “shameful” death, defeated by the very political powers the Messiah was prophesied to overcome.* Indeed, the Hebrew prophets did not foresee that Israel’s savior would be executed as a common criminal by Gentiles, *making Jesus’ crucifixion a “stumbling block” to scripturally literate Jews.* (1 Cor.1:23)
Watch *Jesus: Apocalyptic Prophet, Historical Lecture - Bart D. Ehrman*

And even though i dont know many by heart, i could at least do "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Lol.. thats a "famous" one. So its always unbelievable to me that so many cant do even one. But i guess i should not be surprised. Thé only way you can be post millennial is if you treat a ton of scriptures as an allegory.
If you take the bible seriously and the interpretation more literally there’s no escaping the biblical truth that we are
Premillennial. You glazed over most passages that seriously say the opposite of what you are asserting. I agree we should be fighting not sitting with our feet on the desk but that doesn’t mean the bible doesn’t teach both premillennialism and fighting for the faith. It doesn’t matter what we want the bible to say it matters what it says And if you are seriously concerned with the accuracy of the scriptures they cannot have had a full past fulfilment that’s why it’s not evident to most Christians in the past even the ones that lived through Nero. They took the bible literally and not as an allegory. Did Jesus make an end of sins? I mean you can’t be post m and agree with the bible fully.
Love your other teachings this one is disappointing and biblically misses the mark on truth with funny antedotes and appeal to the senses but no scriptural basis when you take the fullness of the text not just selected verses and ignore others. Praying for you and pray for me too good bless

There a lots of reasons to not take the vantage point but I can't see any possible way to reconcile the apostacy and Revelation 19 & 20 with postmillenialism. Satan was given the keys to the castle on this rock. He's not going anywhere without a battle. But as I learned lately, debate doesn't mean division. And ultimately, no we are not losing, it's our goal to encourage others to come to that message as well. Bless you all and glory to our King. My question is what does Jesus mean by speaking of his return in Matthew 24 and 25, Mark 13, Luke 21. And 2nd Timothy 3 speaks of the last days as times of difficulty and how people will be just as they are now. And Paul speaks of it as in future context. And Revelation speaks of the wrath to come and the war of Armageddon. The Anti-Christ is clearly spoken of . That day will not come until the falling away. Which is very clearly happening 🤔. I will seriously pray over this. But as of right now I must be honest I feel the Bible very clearly and obviously speaks of the last days and the wrath that comes before Jesus Christ comes to defeat the Anti-Christ. It's all just bold and in my face. I'm just being honest. I would much prefer it to be the way I'm hearing in this video. But i do not see this in scripture. I do see all being placed under His feet very clearly. But I definitely see all I've spoken of and alignment with scripture to this generation. Example , lawlessness abounding and one world religion forming and then the natural phenomenon of the Euphrates River also spoken of in the last days, in both the old and new testament. Never before has the Euphrates dried up. But now it is. Just as scripture speaks of in the last days.as well as the kings all coming together and the hook in the mouths the money changing to fit the mark of the beast system and Elon Musk's cjip in the hand and head. All things in this generation are right in our face coinciding with the scriptures concerning the last days. It's pretty coincidental that it just happens to line up perfectly at the end of the generation that saw Isreal become a nation also s0oken of in scripture concerning these times. Idk. I will pray on it. And I will seek the Lord for the truth on this. It's extremely important that we watch for He told us to stay awake ! Live holy and be prepared for His coming. God bless in the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God Who was and is and is to come! The most important thing we all xan do is preach the word in and out of season, hold fast to our faith in His promises 🙏 and live every moment knowing that He is right here with us knowing not only our words and actions but the very thoughts in our hearts. Be blessed. Jesus is Lord!

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. The Bible does not teach Postmillennialism
In 2 Timothy 3:1-7, Paul describes the last days as “terrible times.”
Those who hold to postmillennialism use a non-literal method of interpreting unfulfilled prophecy, often interpreting prophetic passages allegorically. The problem with this is that when the normal meaning of a passage is abandoned, its meaning can become entirely subjective. All objectivity concerning the meaning of words is lost. When words lose their meaning, communication ceases. However, this is not how God has intended for language and communication to be. God communicates to us through His written word, with objective meanings to words, so that ideas and thoughts can be communicated.
A normal, literal interpretation of Scripture rejects postmillennialism and holds to a normal interpretation of all Scripture, including unfulfilled prophecy. We have hundreds of examples in Scripture of prophecies being fulfilled. Take, for example, the prophecies concerning Christ in the Old Testament. Those prophecies were fulfilled literally. Consider the virgin birth of Christ (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23). Consider His death for our sins (Isaiah 53:4-9; 1 Peter 2:24). These prophecies were fulfilled literally, and that is reason enough to assume that God will continue in the future to literally fulfill His Word. Postmillennialism fails in that it interprets Bible prophecy subjectively and holds that the millennial kingdom will be established by the church, not by Christ Himself.

Respectfully, you don’t understand postmillennialism. Postmillennialism does account for all the prophecies. Matter of fact, postmillennialism says they have already been fulfilled. The “end times” in the postmillennialism view was in the first century when Christian’s were being murdered by the government. That sounds like “terrible times” to me.

I see 1 massive hole is this eschatology.
The sign of His appearing is not the salvation of the nations.
Matthew 24:14 - And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
The gospel reaching the nations is the sign, not the actual salvation of the nations.
The salvation of the nations seems to happen after His return and when Satan is put away.
Other than that, no one argues that He is reigning now and that the kingdom is now.
He is coming when the gospel reaches the nations because of righteous justice.

    • @rolysantos
      @rolysantos Год назад

Agreed, but Jesus IS reaching "the nations" (ethnos) NOW!
That's the purpose of the Millenial Reign!
In the OT God gave His word to the Jews ONLY (see Psalm 147:19-20)
Although there were a few gentile converts, God purposely:
      >Overlooked the ignorance of the gentiles regarding Him (Acts 17:30)
      >Allowed them to go "their own way" (the natural bent of man IN ADAM (see Hebrews 8:8-9)
Which is why Paul said at THAT time, gentiles were "without hope and without God in the world." (Ephesians 2)
Satan had taken gentiles captive (2 Timothy 2:26, Isaiah 49:25 (Read ALL of Isaiah 49 where "The servant, ISRAEL" (Jesus) brings back Jacob (national Israel) AND gentiles)
But when Jesus came "The people walking in DARKNESS saw a great LIGHT" (Isaiah 9:2)
The light of the GOSPEL by which Jesus had come to "set the captives free" (Luke 4)
See also 2 Corinthians 4:4-6 (Satan has blinded minds, but God's LIGHT shines into hearts to free them)
THIS is the fulfillment of the "mystery not revealed in times past..that gentiles were fellow heirs with Israel" (Ephesians 3)
THIS is the fulfillment of Revelation 20, where Satan is bound *SO THAT* (for the purpose of) he could deceive the gentiles no longer, UNTIL the thousand years were ended..............
THIS is the "binding of the strong man" (Matthew 12)
      Jesus IS plundering his house!
But once Jesus has removed ALL of HIS sheep, wheat, elect from the world, THEN Satan will be released again "for a little while"
      to do what?
Answer: to deceive the NATIONS (ethnose/gentiles) again!
This conincides with the great falling away (2 Thessalonians)
What Post Mils do not understand is that the earth getting more wicked and evil men "waxing worse AND WORSE" (not better and better) is that this does NOT equate to "Failure" of Jesus, The Gospel and/or The Church!
God's Kingdom IS being built in THE HEAVENLIES! (Ephesians 2:6)
God's people ARE being "delivered out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of Jesus" (Colossians 1:13)
God's people HAVE COME (NOW) to "the heavenly Jerusalem" (Hebrews 12:22) who is "The mother of us all" (Galatians 4)
Even though it appears we are defeated, losers on the OUTSIDE (earthly perspective) (2 Corinthians 4:16)
Yet, "In ALL these things we ARE (not will be ) MORE THAN Conquerers" (Romans 8:37)
This is counterintuitive pattern of ALL God's people throughout the bible!
      WHY?
Because God's power is PERFECTED in our weakness, not in our earthly sucess and a world transformed by the Gospel!
WE are the ones who are transformed and made new, not the world. At least not this PRESENT world, which is what Post Mils teach.
Look at the faithful saints in Hebrews 11:
37 They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, *DESTITUTE, PERSECUTED AND MISTREATED*
NOTICE: This descrption is from an EARTHLY perspective!
But HERE is how GOD SEES these "losers" or "failures."
38 *THE WORLD WAS NOT WORTHY OF THEM*
They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.
39 These were all commended for their faith, yet *none of them received what had been promised*
40 since God had planned something better for us so that *only together with us would they be made perfect*
And when will we ALL be "made perfect?"
ie, our BODIES will be changed and the WICKED will be destroyed *AND THEN THE EARTH WILL BE RENEWED!*
But THIS WORLD will NOT be renewed and made better until the very end AFTER Jesus' return!
The GOSPEL IS already successful, having saved those whom God has chosen OUT Of this world!
We ARE SEATED in the heavenlies!
The "enemies" Jesus came to defeat are SIN AND DEATH (Luke 1:76-79, Hebrews 2:15)
This is why when the Jews expected Jesus to defeat their EARTHLY enemies (Romans) He did not, but said "My Kingdom is NOT of this world, if it were, my servants would fight!" The battle and the enemies are SPIRITUAL! (Ephesians 6:12)
And Jesus IS defeating His enemies (sin and death) every time another "captive" is taken from darkness and transferred into the light!
Remember in the OT God drowned the EARTHLY enemies of Israel in the sea.
But look at Micah's prophecy of the ULTIMATE enemy of the people of God:
"He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities.
*YOU WILL CAST ALL OUR SINS* Into the depths of the sea. - Micah 7:19
Post Mils and Pre Mil Dispensationalists make a similar error:
Pre Mils claim that Amils interpret scripture "spiritually" while they interpret the bible "literally."
But this is a false dichotomy.
Read 1 Corinthians 15: Adam was the EARTHLY (natural) man, Jesus is the HEAVENLY (Spiritual) man!
"However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual." (v46)
Old Covenant: Eartly/Natural Israel "after the flesh."
New Covenant: Israel OF GOD (Galatians 6:16) who are of the faith of Abraham (Jew AND Gentile) (Galatians 3)
Old Covenant: Earthly/Natural Jerusalem (which is IN BONDAGE) (Galatians 4)
New Covenant: Heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22) "The mother of us all" (Galatians 4) (we were BORN into her!)
Dispensationalists have Jesus reigning on THIS present earth AFTER He returns.
Post Mils have Jesus reigning on THIS present earth BEFORE He returnes.
Jesus IS reigning NOW, by THE GOSPEL!
And you will NOT be seen by an outward, earthly "transformation of the nations."
"“The kingdom of God *does not come with observation*
.................*For indeed, the kingdom of God is WITHIN YOU*

Hey Pastor Jeff, to borrow a line from Dr. White, what would you do with Rev 20:3 "...After that (the 1000 years) he (Satan) must be released for a little while (or short season in some translations)." Or Revelation 20:7-10 "7 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 9 And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, 10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."
Satan's short season? Loosed to deceive the nations. What does deceiving the nations look like? What if the "going and getting the world" happened say in the first 500 years after the Great Commission was given and then perhaps He returned, resurrected the saints and reigned with them for a thousand years. Would deceiving the nations necessarily mean hiding resurrected saints reigning with Him here on earth? Could we be in this period of history, right before the final defeat of Satan and death, Satan's short season? Perhaps we are in for some major boomerangs soon? What does Satan loosed mean from a Postmillennial view? I too am Postmillennial and am pondering on these verses. What are your thoughts?

maybe i missed something, but his argument is mainly based on 1 co 15, where he reads that the Lord is reigning now. in which case, the context says different.
paul writes this sequence: 1st the resurrection of Jesus, 2nd the resurrection of his servants, and 3rd Jesus delivering the Kingdom to the Father after supressing every principality, authority and power. then paul elaborates the 3rd point: Jesus must put all enemies under his feet, being the last enemy death.
and that's exactly what's shown in revelation: he appears in heaven as a slain lamb (his resurrection), then he sends for his bride (resurrection of his servants), then he defeats the beast and the false prophet, then he reigns a thousand years with his servants, then he defeats satan, death and hades (supression of all his enemies), then he and the Father reign as one in the new jerusalem (he delivers the kingdom to the Father).
so, what am i missing? because postmil doesn't make sense in this context.

The reason for this catastrophic world Judgement is to bring back Israel to God. Israel. Replacement Theology is quick to take the blessings of Israel but none of the punishments. After this fateful day, ALL of Israel is saved. The surviving remnant. God will judge the nations and destroy all those who stand against Him. Premil is caricatured from the experience of the "Left Behind" series (with a premise of pre-trib rapture its main feature), and for those like me who are premil and post-trib, a bit too much. To describe premil as a losing view verses postmil being optimistic is not worthy; both views know Jesus is Lord and King and His rule will be 'successful', or more precisely, is already successful. It was an authentic proof of the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit at the conception of the church, but after the Apostles passed away and the scriptures became canonized God stopped the use of speaking in tongues as a means for authentication. It wasn't gibberish like it's falsely used today in charismatic churches, but instead it was literally having the sudden ability to speak in a legitimate and known language.

When Gods word was completed and maybe even before it ceased. Anyone pretending to speak in tongues since the Bible was completed is a fake and a fraud and is only exposing that they do not belong to Jesus.

    2) When does Jesus rule from the temple in Jerusalem for 1000 years?
    3) When is satan bound for 1000, then released? When does the rebellion of Revelation 20:7-9 occur?
    4) When does "the mark of the beast" time frame happen?
    5) When do the events of Ezekiel 38 happen?

Jesus says ENDURE TIL THE END. The absolute end. Not almost the end. I’m not a scholar but this is my opinion, and from what I have heard from a few credible preachers. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

But through my deep dive into the Book of Revelation, I found Apologia, Dr. White, Doug Wilson, Crosspolitic, R.C. Sproul, etc. So in the journey of eschatology I also dug into reformed theology. Looking at how the western world branches have become stunted in the Kingdom mustard tree (parable) can get very discouraging. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Agreed. I think he does a great job dispelling many untruths, but I don't agree...at all..regarding the belief that the whole world will be turned to Christ before his coming. I see the exact opposite occuring...and there is too much scripture that aligns with this. Of course, I haven't even mentioned the many visions, dreams and direct visitations by Christ that people have recently had, which directly contradict the view being taught in this video.

I do appreciate Durbin in that he said he wasn’t trying to convince people, and was sharing his beliefs; however, I think it’s appropriate to address the contradictory verses to this belief.
I’m an engineer, and when developing a prototype or concept you just don’t list all the pros to your design. You need to be objective, and understand limitations/cons as well. I think pastors don’t necessarily do a good at this as they are trying to convince people that their interpretation of scripture is correct. To be fair, this is why I don’t like denominations.

Jeff Durbin is an excellent 5/5 star teacher and pastor and i would go to his church if he was nearby, but here we probably come into an area where we disagree: premilennial dispensationalism which i hold to, i wait for the rapture. Durbin disagree with me here acording to what ive heard him teach before and has a traditionalist view on scripture that followed into the protestant churches during the reformation from roman catholicism that does not hold up to what the fulness of the word teaches. Id still go to his church even if we disagree here though, lots of his sermons on other things than this are pure gold.
