  • In Part 2 of the two-part series, Jeff Durbin and Allie Beth Stuckey discuss the definition of the "end of days," covenant breakers, the judgment of tribulation, and how the dating of the book of Revelation can also affect your stance on eschatology. Finally, Jeff addresses how America correlates to these "end times" and how postmillennialism may have affected the creation of the Constitution.
    Allie is also joined by Pastor Joel Webbon of Right Response Ministries in California, and he shares his perspective in meeting up as a church congregation despite the orders given by California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

    Loved this from Jeff Durbin (paraphrasing): "Two thousand years ago, we started out with eleven very confused disciples, today there are Christians all over the globe who bow the knee to Jesus, and we look around and say, gosh, look how bad things are." Amen! Or as Jesus put it, "...and the gates of hell shall not prevail"

      The problem is we have failed miserably in the Great Commission which is to go into all the world and make disciples teaching them TO OBEY ALL THAT I COMMANDED YOU......Christians are not obeying God....thats why we lose....thats why Jesus has to come back and rescue us because our enemies are ruling over us and will kill us.....We dont win in history like the post mill position says we do.....Jesus returns to destroy His enemies according to 2 Thes 1:7-10......But thats also why God gets all the glory and not men.

    • @BethanyJoyWilson
      @BethanyJoyWilson 4 года назад +1

      Maddie Towns I understand! Basically there are different ways of understanding how a passage of Scripture should or could be interpreted and eschatology or the study of the end times is one of those things in scripture that people interpret differently. But that’s why it’s not the most important issue. The Gospel, which is the main foundational content of the Christian Faith is very clear and not up for interpretation. But with end times some people read the Bible literally, and some read it as if it is more prophetic in tone. So he is explaining the more literal perspective of the end times, and that leads to his conclusion that the “end times” we know of were actually lived right after the time of Christ. Many people hold the view you said you do, and I believe Allie Stuckey does as well. Hope I wasn’t more confusing!

    • @maddietowns7067
      @maddietowns7067 4 года назад +2

      @@BethanyJoyWilson ahh I see thank you. So seeing how he is saying the end times could have already been lived through... where does that leave us now?

    • @BethanyJoyWilson
      @BethanyJoyWilson 4 года назад +1

      Maddie Towns in his perspective we should expect the world to gradually become more Christian overall as the Church grows and the kingdom of God covers the earth. So he would encourage Christians to have that mindset in whatever work they do, knowing that whether you’re a lawyer, doctor, garbageman or teacher, you are the hands and feet of Jesus sharing the good news every day. And he also believes we are still at the very beginning of the growth of the church. So he doesn’t believe an “end” will come, like the return of Christ, until many hundreds or possibly thousands of years from now. Whether or not we agree eschatologically, I do thinks his perspective is so important for Christians to consider every day, that no matter what we do we should have our living hope in mind and do all we do to the glory of God to share his love with everyone we meet!

      "This world is ours": do you mean like Dominionism?
      At what point in history does Jesus call to His people to "Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins..." ?
      You know: the one who commits fornication with kings, and rides the Beast, and is drunk on the blood of the martyrs (witnesses) of Jesus? When does this happen, that we are supposed to seek political power ('by any means necessary', apparently) in our own time?

    • @kylec8950
      @kylec8950 2 года назад

      @@lindajohnson4204 Hi. I'm not sure what you mean by "Dominionism", but God does call us to take dominion over the earth. Jesus calls us moreover to "disciple" all nations, not just mere evangelism. We are promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail over us .
      Revelation up to Chapter 20 has already been fulfilled. We have come out of the Old Covenant, left Judaism and it's oral law behind and have been transferred into the Kingdom of his Son (Col 1:13). Not just through "political" power will we win but power in all spheres of life.

    • @lindajohnson4204
      @lindajohnson4204 2 года назад

      @@kylec8950 I'm not always prepared to answer this, but it is dead wrong. I would suggest the writing about Dominionism by Sarah Leslie of Herescope. Consider that if man, not God, forms a so-called "theocracy", it is by definition Antichrist, because mere man, as Christ, is a false Christ. The time table of the Bible has to be denied and set aside to pretend that we have a charge to take over the world, when the Bible, read as it is written, without dishonestly allegorizing it, says that Jesus, Himself, will do these things, not us.

    • @lindajohnson4204
      @lindajohnson4204 2 года назад

      Here is a definition of Dominionism, by Sarah Leslie at the beginning of a review on a book on it by Oriel Steinkamp and Sandy Simpson. The review segueways into an earlier article about it. Search "Herescope + Dominionism" and it will be down in the page, about halfway, when I looked.
      "Dominionism is the idea of building a paradise on earth. It is zealously espoused by both the political Right and the political Left, and each side agitates with a religious fervor for their versions of the cause. Dominionism claims to save the earth, not individual souls in need of redemption by Jesus Christ. In order to achieve its utopian goals, Dominionism believes that the ends justify the means. Dominionist leaders are intent on transforming political, social, religious and cultural institutions in order to foment their revolution. They champion new and old forms of totalitarianism to attain results. Their final solution is planetary transformation. Various Christian and New Age versions of Dominionism include the idea of mankind achieving godhood, thus perfecting the planet, and they've shown they are willing to work together, converging their politics. But in the process you will have to give up your rights and freedoms.
      "Given the significant increase in Dominionism as a religious force for transformation in society, the recent book _Dominionism!,_ published by Sandy Simpson, at "Deception in the Church" is timely and needed. ..."

      @@joshstrange1244 I would argue that that assertion is speculative. Lets be careful of taking what Durbin says as the absolute truth. My experience is just as valid as his, and in the end that is what the disagreement is about. It is only theoretical that a premillenialist would look at the end times and the coming of the Lord as less of a desperate moment in time for the lost as a post-millenialist. I have plenty of questions concerning Durbin's interp of end times but this one assertion I found to be impossible for him to defend. If he doesn't want to adopt a dispensational theological approach to Biblical hermeneutics then fine, but don't use straw men as part of your defense. • @hellosunshine1090

      The A-mil perspective basically sees God's People "The Church" in a No-win Stalemate vs Devil's forces all the way to the End of History.
      I like Chris Roseboro a LOT but I believe he shares Martin Luthers fatal Theological flaw, his disastrous "Two Kingdoms" view. Luther was a blessed Reformer greatly used BUT he got the nature of the KINGDOM wrong - so wrong in fact that Scandinavian & German Socialism errors are the tragic result:
      The flaw is investing the "State" with a Divine Imprimatur and then untethering it from God's Law.
      In short, they rip God's warning to Tyrants, in Psalm 2, from their Bibles and then act shocked when the Ungodly multiply & dominate - which leads to massive pessimism on their part.
      Contrast this with the English / Scottish / New Colonial view called the "Puritan Hope" that stressed a Unified Kingdom - Psalm 2, 22, 24, 72 110, 149 - Isaiah 9:6-7, I Corinthians 15, Acts 2 (Peter's Pentecost Sermon) + Eternal Rewards & Punishments for ALL men, especially including leaders & elected officials.
      In Colonial New England they had Election day sermons to remind the new office holders of their Psalm 2 charge:
      "Be wise O Kings, be instructed ye judges of the EARTH, serve the LORD with fear & rejoice with trembling, kiss the Son, lest He be angry and ye perish from the way when His wrath is kindled but a little.
      How Blessed are all they that TRUST in Him".
      I was raised Lutheran, then in Fundamentalist Dispensationalism & now by God's Grace, today optimistic Reformed Postmillennialism.
      I try to appreciate all angles & retain a loving Catholicity - not confusing Essentials & non-essentials: Eschatology isn't an Essential, it's not stated in any of the Historic Creeds.
      I see it like this: its a "Conclusive Expectation" a deduction that flows from ones Theological position, tempered by our experience & view of History.
      If we don't know History in some reasonable depth & how LIBERTY developed in Western Christian Civilization then every time the Battle gets 'Hot' we'll either Faint or Retreat.
      ONLY a solid resolute Strength from Christ our Reigning King is going to keep us steadfast.
      I'm blessed to hear this conversation - Pastor Jeff's really explaining this well & Allie is allowing him while asking relevant questions.
      Sorry so long - I hope that sheds light on A-mil Vs Postmillennialism !

    That statement, the church is in its infancy, that is profound and I agree with Jeff. If the church members were maturing as the church goes on, we wouldn’t have all these divisive denominations and false teachers. Unbelievers would be the minority. Maybe that’s how he would feel? But I don’t think it’s a very realistic analogy to place on “the church”. Also, if everything that was written was only for the early disciples in 70AD then why read the Bible at all if it doesn’t still apply to our lives and what’s to come now? Sorry if I missed Jeff Durbin missing a very important passage for his position but for an even stronger proof, I remember him mentioning the first half of Acts chapter 2 but if you keep reading through Acts chapter 2 especially verses 29-36, this really cinches down the fact that Gods promise to seat one of his descendents on the thrown was fulfilled in the resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father. Note the Davidic promise is referenced "God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne" then immediately says "He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption" and then goes on to quote the exact same prophecy the Apostle Paul referenced "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
    Until I make thy foes thy footstool." This ought to really seal the fact that Christ's ascension to the right hand of the Father WAS the fulfillment of God's promise to king David that one of his descendants would sit on his throne.
    29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
    30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
    31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
    32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
    33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
    34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
    35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
    36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
    This also meshes perfectly with what Jesus proclaimed in Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

      Period.
      Your eschatological view does not change the Word of God and what it says.
      Christians aren’t to live there lives based on feelings.
      If they are then the issue is NOT with their eschatological view but the issue is with THEM and the fact they are not living their lives as they should.
      Eschatological views have no bearing on how you live your life.
      The word of God is the only bearing that one should live their life by.

      Cinnamonbuns13 Wrong. Show me where in scripture He said it says He’s waiting for His enemies to be made a footstool before He can return.
      If you’re referring to Psalm 110:1 it says absolutely nothing about that.
      Psalm 110:1
      1 The LORD said unto my Lord,
      Sit thou at my right hand,
      until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
      Please show me where in this verse it says, “The LORD said unto my Lord,
      Sit thou at my right hand, and DON’T RETURN TO EARTH
      until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
      EVERYTHING is under His feet right now.
      Based on your logic then He will never return unless people stop having babies.
      4 babies are born every second so as soon as “His enemies are all under His feet” and He starts returning then He has to stop and go back and sit down because 4 more “enemies” were just born so now not all His enemies are under His feet anymore and He has to wait again.
      “All His enemies under His feet” is not some quantifiable magic number.
      Christ’s enemies will be out under His feet AT HIS RETURN:
      1 CORINTHIANS 15:51-57
      51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
      52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
      53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
      54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, 👉THEN SHALL👈 be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
      55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
      56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

It is fairly obvious that the six seal of Revelation6(great earthquake and sun become black and sky vanishes) has not happened yet. And the millennial kingdom starts after the rider of the white horse marries his bride and defeats the beast and his army. Has this happened and I missed it? Also Rev 20 indicates some sort of resurrection occurs with dead saints. (Also did I miss this?). He mentions having to ignore scripture with a premillennialism view but I feel like you have to ignore and allegorize WAY more scripture with a post millennial view. The Last Days were in operation in Jesus day & the Generation from his resurrection to the "Final Curtain" on wicked Covenant breaking Israel.
      In murdering their Messiah then rejecting Him fully, the once faithful bride of Jehovah turned Harlot.
      Ergo God rained Judgement on them - Israel was beseiged in all her cities & ravished fully in Jerusalem & the Temple, totally fulfilling Matthew 24, Mark 13 & Luke 21 - all Christians escaped & over 1.5 millions Jews slaughtered by Roman armies acting out God's Divine Sentence.
      As it was the Utter Desolation of God's former Covenant nation, Tragic ! And called for this reason "The Great Tribulation".
      But as we see in Acts, the Church the New Faithful Bride of CHRIST was the result so here we are 2020 years later back then 12 disciples now 2.5 BILLIONS worship JESUS as LORD.
      So the Great Commission is proceeding. The blood of the Martys is the seed of the church.
      We need to make use of the peaceful Lawful means we here in the USA possess to beat back this nascent Humanist Tyranny. This is crucial as the world needs so much Evangelization & Discipling that's why Satan tries to subvert the Christian Church here especially - so the lesser developed nations can remain unreached. Ergo we must remain Steadfast & fight on our knees before God's Throne - knowing the FATHER will anser the prayers of JESUS to be given "the Nations for your inheritance & the uttermost parts of the Earth for yout possession" - see Psalm 2 & 110 for context.
      We have 4.5 BILLIONS more to convert - the Holy Spirit working thru US his body on earth via the WORD is more than able !

Especially I think Daniel's prophecy shows us that. If the first 69 weeks were fulfilled literally than the last week will be fulfilled literally. I also agree that Isreal still has a part to play in future events, I like to look at the book of Hosea and the story of his marriage to Gomer. Gomer continuously strays from Hosea, purposefully seeking other men but in the end because of Hosea's long suffering, forgiveness and faithfulness to his marriage covenant, she eventually comes back to him for good. Gomer represents Isreal, who seeks after other gods constantly and Hosea represents God, who in His own covenant with Israel is long suffering waiting for the time when Israel calls out for her true God.

      Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely 100% agree that if an individual of Jewish faith and ancestry believes in Christ as their Messiah, in the Church age, they would be considered a Christian; as there is no difference between Jew and Gentile in Christ. However, there is a difference between Messianic Jews in the Church age and Jews in the tribulation period. We know that there is a difference between Christians and Jews in revelation; Christians being called "Tribulation Saints" and the 144000 sealed Jewish people of the 12 tribes of Israel; that is one Jewish group that is protected from satan by God (Read Revelation 12:13-17 to see God's protection of these Israelites). So that means that the Church doesn't replace Israel entirely, only that until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, Israel will be placed to the side of God's focus.
      Christ's first advent was to redeem individual persons, whether that was Jews or Gentiles. Christ's second advent will be in response to Israel's complete repentance as a nation. As I said in my previous comment, we can look to fulfilled prophecy in the Bible to see that future prophecy will be fulfilled in the same literal way.
      Thanks for taking the time to read this, I really enjoy talking to people that have differing views on the secondary doctrines. I find it really edifying when we, both Christians, can talk about our different perspectives and help each other learn in a loving way. God bless you and have a great day.

      The only way "So shall all Israel br saved" is even possible is if ALL Israel is ALL the Church, right ?
      Replacement Theology is a poor term.
      I believe those who use it have a Deficient Christology - which leads to a defective Ecclesiology.
      There is a slim book by Charles Provan called "The Church is ISRAEL Now" - its really a collated Index scanning & listing ALL PROMISES to Old Covenant ISRAEL & Then putting them side by side with ALL PROMISES to the New Covenant CHURCH.
      They're indentically re-stated to ALL Members of the Church be they Jewish or Gentile Converts.
      So the plan of Salvation is the same for both Jew & Greek.
      Its only Fundamentalist Dispensationalism that tries to maintain that there's 2 people of GOD.
      Its aka Christian Zionism and NOT well supported unless you slice & dice Scripture and ignore LOTS of passages.
      I'd also point out that modern Israel is NOT friendly to Christian belief - they criminalize prosletyzing in fact.
      To become an Israeli one MUST renounce CHRIST specifically.
      The most virulently Anti Christ & Anti American Muslim nation on Earth is Saudi Arabia and - no surprise the Israelis are in big with the Saudis.
      Not surprising as both nations fight CHRIST and Christians everywhere.
      Of course the State of Israel tries to whitewash this for 2 reasons:
      - Massive Tourism $$$ much from Western Christian nations
      - $80 Billion US Foreign aid.
      There is NO equivalency between Historic Old Covenant ISRAEL & the modern political state founded as an Agnostic Zionist entity.
      But they sure do count on Christian Americans ignorance on these matters.

    This was very interesting. Thanks for taking it on. But I found myself wanting to know more... especially when it comes to the book of Revelation, Israel, and the Antichrist. If you take this view, it seems like a lot of questions are answered, but even more questions arise. I guess this means I'll need to do a deep dive into the position myself.

      Jeff Durbin has a few sermons on this and so does Doug Wilson! I started with Jeff’s sermon “who will be left behind”… hope this helps. Other resources are the puritans, and Kenneth Gentry for more scholarly work.

    But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
