  • Don't miss this message from Pastor Jeff Durbin on the Lord Jesus, the Old Testament prophecies, the warnings to the 1st century, and the Book of Revelation. This is part 2 of the series of messages on Matthew 21 where Jesus talks about saying to "this" mountain be cast into the sea. Is this about what many teachers say it is? Or is there a more profound and biblical way to look at this important passage? Take a look! Share it with someone!

I am sad that I existed in a belief that was merely tradition. How can someone understand when the teachers themselves have deceived themselves.
Thankyou for giving your heart with the words of God. I have listened to many things you have said and if tears could fall from my heart they surely would.
My sadness is for Jesus, I’m sad I never understood who he was, his incredible strength and his love that there is no word beautiful enough to describe. He has pillaged my heart and is the fierce lion that takes what is his, because with tears of shame and heaviness I wanted him too. I want to be his, I don’t deserve the honour to be his possession though even the tiniest place in his heart for me is the only life I need.

I agree. It's strange though. When I was an atheist I knew the bible better than when I came to God at first. As an atheist I read the Bible and scoffed at Christians who praised God but didn't understand that this judgement was already brought upon the covenant breakers. I mocked them for being ignorant.
When I came to Christ I went STRAIGHT into the hands of other Christians and they were pre-mil.
Once I went into a real phase of study I began to understand and see. I remembered these things. Then it all came together. The honest reading but this time WITH a submission to the Lord.

Endtimeprophecy777 This is an easy answer. As the Bible tells us, the New Jerusalem is we the church. John introduces the New Jerusalem as the lambs wife, a bride adorned. You’re then taking that literal so you take the need for a physical sun literal. The final judgement is yet to come after the millennium and at that point sin is eradicated and the eternal state begins. Easy answers to basic questions.

Absolutely. I swear, many Christians, especially here in the west, read the Bible like 21st century Christians. They fail to read it in the historical context of the first century readers. Revelation was written by John who was a Jew, and it was written to the Jewish followers of Jesus, and Revelation is filled with Jewish language, imagery, and symbolism everywhere that has direct ties to the Old Testament. We make up these crazy ideas of what we think the locusts are, what the horsemen are, etc. and we don't even ask the question: is this how the first century JEWISH followers of Jesus would've understood it as?

I used to attend a small country church from my first Sunday on this earth. As a teen, I drifted. I didn’t end up going back seriously till I was 27 after the birth of my first child. A few years in, and now with two kids I wasn’t feeling as feed as I used to. I wasn’t able to grow anymore it felt like. So I stopped going for a few years. I could see a change in my children, and I realized what the cause was. It was about that time that my grandfather had passed. He was the senior pastor, and a close friend of mine. It really hurt me, so I stopped going all together. I went from proclaiming his word in public to strangers, to not opening my Bible for years. The kids ended up going to the church in the small town we lived in. I seen them growing in there faith, and it started to convict me. Out of curiosity I attended one Sunday service, and I can not explain the joy that filled me to every molecule in my body. We ended up moving a few miles away over the hill to the next town. It was there that the new neighbor came to welcome us, and said if you were looking for a new church since you moved, you could come with us SOME Sunday. Didn’t push for the next Sunday, rather they said it a few times, SOME SUNDAY! Well I ended up getting convicted and went that Sunday. It was the second best decision I ever maid. Now I’m not comparing myself to Jesus, not in the least. I did feel like Jesus did though in the fact that he wasn’t taken seriously in his hometown, so he left. Now I can say that if I’m not working on Sunday, I attend in person. If I am working, I catch the livestream. What I’m trying to say is sometimes it’s good to change a venue. I don’t know you, same way you don’t know me. Just consider finding a different church that teaches the word of God. Sometimes we stop going for unseen reasons. I hope you have found a place to worship with like minded believers.

Pastor Jeff...Love your Heart and being humble. We are brothers in Christ nd we hold hand, but as you said fight over things..lol. I do agree with you on Matthew 24 is for the Jews, however, I think you are throwing Hermeneutic out the Window with Pre tribulation. II Thessalonians 2: 3 for that Day will NOT come unless the falling away come first, and the man of sin is revealed. All versions of the Bible before the King James interpret this taking away, instead of falling away. Yes, Jesus will take away the Church and the AntiChrist will be revealed. He has Not appointed us to Wrath. You have to believe in this or you BELIEVE in Replacement Theology. Meaning the CHURCH takes the place of ISRAEL, which is foreign to SCRIPTURE. You are confusing passage of ISRAEL with the Church. QUESTION?? Pastor Jeff...is ISRAEL still under Judgment? The ANSWER is Yes...they Reject his Kingdom and he grafted the Church in...and Jesus said until you say Blessed is HE who comes in the Name of the Lord and they realize they Reject HIM. Which will NOT happen until the Middle of the Tribulation period. Sorry...John wrote Revelation on the isle of Patomos which didn't happen until after A.D. 90. Love and prayers for you my Brother in CHRIST!

The strongest source for a late dating of the book of Revelation is in Irenaeus’ book Against Heresies and even that claim has issues.
      Issues with the late dating:
      Against Heresies 5:30:3
“We will not, however, incur the risk of pronouncing positively as to the name of Antichrist; for if it were necessary that his name should be distinctly revealed in this present time, it would have been announced by him who beheld the apocalyptic vision. For it (he) was seen no very long time since, but almost in our day, towards the end of Domitian's reign.”
"Several church fathers indicate that Domition was emperor when John wrote Revelation. All of them, however, seem to base their information on the testimony of Irenaeus" (Revelation, p.17)
"The meaning of Irenaeus' statement has been debated. What was seen toward the end of Domition's reign? Was it the vision which John "beheld"? or was it the apostle himself, who was "seen... face to face" by those who testify? The phrase "it was seen..." may be a corruption of an original that read, "He was seen..." If this is true, then it only proves that John lived into the reign of Domition, though he may have written the Apocalypse much earlier."
"Those who originally translated Irenaeus' work into English complained of the poor condition of the manuscript evidence for his work. They wrote: 'The great work of Irenaeus, now for the first time translated into English, is unfortunately no longer extant in the original. It has come down to us only in an ancient Latin version, with the exception of a greater portion of the first book, which has been preserved in the original Greek, through means of the copious quotations made by Hippolytus and Epiphanius. The text, in both Latin and Greek, is often most uncertain."
"Since the text is admittedly "uncertain" in many places, and the quotation in question is known only from a Latin translation of the original, we must not place too high a degree of certainty upon our preferred reading of the statement of Irenaeus."
"Earlier in the passage, Irenaeus refers to "all the.. ancient copies" of Revelation. This presupposes that that the book had been around a good long while before this statement was written. If there were "ancient copies," was not the original more ancient still? Yet, in Irenaeus estimation, the time of Domition's reign was not considered to have been very ancient history, for he speaks of it as "almost in our day." How could Irenaeus speak of ancient copies" of a work the original of which has been written "almost" in his own time?"
"With reference to his mention of Domition's reign, there are grounds for believing that Irenaeus was speaking of the time of John's last being seen by the brethren, rather than the time of John's having seen the apocalyptic vision."

It looks like nobody was even interested in answering your question. Apologia Church is view is Post Millennial, Partial Preterist. They believe most of the book of Revelation was fulfilled in the 1st century but not all of it. The Post Millennial view is not that church will be defeated throughout history but the Gospel will succeed in every facet of life and that by the time Jesus comes back most of the world will be under the dominion of the Kingdom of God through the preaching of Gospel and transforming nations from the inside out. This is the Eschatological view that many saints had throughout history. When Christians of old would go into a nation they would deem it as already belonging to God and would fulfill the great commission by discipling the nations therein.

Jeff is wrong about Revelations. He isn't an authority on this aspect of God's word. It's not his fault, It was God's choice for it to be that way. The Beast is not Rome, the beast is the "one Satan uses to deceive the whole world" (this deception quote is near the end of rev). Has anyone deceived the whole world, ever? No.
Don't misunderstand me, just because Jeff wants to believe he is right doesn't mean he is not correct about the majority of what his ministry teaches. His apologetics, i.e. Worldview supposition argumentation is correct. His view of Rev. came from "other people". One can only have an understanding in regard to these subjects by it being an innate gift from God. Most of the symbolic verses in rev. are not meant to be dissected and parsed out like Jeff has been taught. There are aspects of Rev. no one will ever know, it's planned that way by God. A lot of what Rev. discusses is being spoken to those people already in the other life. They are souls or in spirit.
This following verse is separated from any connection to the prior message to the church discussed before it. It should be obvious because it says "churches".
Rev. 2--11 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt at all by the second death."
If this message is being heard by people whose bodies have died, i.e. the first death. then the messages are being given to those who are already souls, spirits only...etc. They haven't suffered the second death. death of the soul, which is eternal condemnation.

Lets consider the context before your conquest to subject us to a literal Mark of the beast. From the readers perspective, are we certain this means a physical mark? And if we do still believe in a physical mark, then what about the 144,000 of Israel that are sealed on their foreheads (Rev 7, 1-8). Are we also supposed to be looking for this physical manifestation? I can not say I have ever heard anybody say they are looking out for the RFID chip or mark for Israel. I have honestly pictured the mark of the beast to be a physical marking, but I’m afraid I’ve have gotten most of my understanding from

Question: When we read scripture, is the return of Jesus described as a peaceful event where Jesus is welcomed back to Earth to conduct the Final Judgment and usher in the eternal state by a mostly "Christianized" world, or do we read of the return of Jesus as a violent and bloody event where the Son of God goes to war against His enemies and includes the rescue of Israel (Zech 12-14, Rev 19) ??

It is totally absurd to interpret the Book of Revelation as having been fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. It is clearly talking about destruction on the wicked of the entire earth, as well as unbelieving Jews who are alive at that time. Isaiah also talks about the "Day of the Lord" as relating to God judging the wicked of the entire earth. The "mark of the beast" has to do with commerce and a coming cashless society: Revelation 13:17 "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." God surely knew what technology would develop in the world. Those who take the mark will be declaring their loyalty to the Antichrist (the beast) instead of being faithful to Jesus Christ.
He is dismissing passages that clearly have literal meaning and "twisting scripture" to the extreme. Flee this man!

    • @beaulin5628
      @beaulin5628 5 лет назад +2

@@TheGospelAssociates There is nothing that says the Antichrist gives a code number.
Revelation is the only book that mentions a system of commerce requiring a "mark" on the forehead or hand. The Bible identifies the Antichrist with the numbers 666. It does not say that this is a "code" he uses. Revelation 13:18 "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." The word mark in Greek implies something piercing the skin. The verse describes the mark as being "in" the forehead or hand, not "on": Revelation 14:9 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand." Many believe it might be an implant under the skin, a tiny capsule or chip read by RFID. This technology is already available though it is not widely used right now. They can put chip implants in pets so they don't get lost. That something is mentioned only in one place in the Bible in no way makes it untrue.

    • @merecatholicity
      @merecatholicity 4 года назад +2

@@beaulin5628 Here's the problem with you're interpretation of the mark being a literal mark, or chip, or whatever. Throughout Revelation, we see believers "marked" with the seal of God on their foreheads. Unless you take this literally too, I think it's much more accurate to assume the mark is a symbol of who you belong to and serve. Either the world systems or Christ.

    • @beaulin5628
      @beaulin5628 4 года назад +3

@@merecatholicity I agree that the meaning of the mark is primarily a symbol of who you belong to, and this is primarily a spiritual mark applied by God. But, Revelation describes a system of commerce coming on the earth at some point that will be controlled by the Antichrist. Already we are far along towards a cashless society implemented by technology. Banks and government want this so they can observe, control, monitor, and tax all transactions. It is likely that when this world dictator appears he will require that all people worship him in order to participate in commerce. Even now, you will be censored from social media if you express ideas that are not considered "politically correct". People are being fired from their jobs for comments on Facebook and Twitter that do not conform to "required norms" set by totalitarian technocrats and their secret Masters. The spiritual mark by God is not said to be in the "hand". The cell phone in your hand can be scanned at the super market for coupons. Why not to pay? Computer chips are already being implanted IN people and pets for identification. Paying by scanning your hand will assure your money can't be stolen and it certifies your indentity. The trend for body piercing is conditioning humanity to accept an implanted chip. They will love it. The mark will not be implemented until the Antichrist takes power but the technology is already there. They ones who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ will reject this mark of loyalty to the Antichrist dduring the Tribulation because they will understand what it is and they will suffer the consequences, just like the first Christians which refused to worship Caesar and were killed by various Roman Emperors.

Chris White has wrote a book that takes away the guesswork on the identity of Mystery Babylon and it is thorough and it has many confirmations in scripture directly related to the temple in Jerusalem. I'm a futurist, so I think there are things that were certainly fulfilled. However there are some things that are yet future. The books name is 'Mystery Babylon: When Jerusalem Embraces The Antichrist' by Chris White. He is gifted and pinpoint accurate in his exegesis of scripture. I suggest reading some of his works. The book of Revelation is basic a compilation of the OT prophecies. But i disagree with him on this one. There are many things that are not fullfiled yet (Revelation 1:19), esspecially Jesus Christ returning, 1000 years kingdom and of course, the end of this world.
As is written in the book of Hebrews 2:8, not all things are submited to Him, but at the end ot will be. I do not believe that he teaches JW doctrines of Jesus returning though...

I fully believe that Rome is that woman on the beast, and I see the catholic church raising its head again soon enough. Ever since the reformation, the Pope's have been working to get the world in their hand again. The present goal for the present Pope every year has been working on getting men of authority from all nations and religions to draw near and join with him. I find that to be a significant thing, especially if this Pope is a jesuit.

@Andrew Brown The prophecies are supposed to be interpreted using scripture proving scripture....that is, for knowing what the symbolism is and what the allegory means. Using scripture always to prove, not the things which are happening in the world. THE Puritans have a lot right in their commentaries because they stck to biblical principles. You are wrong because the book of Revelation was meant for God's servants, to be known and understood. It is all allegory which is like a word picture to describe what is coming about, like a painting to describe it all. Those references to heaven do not literally mean "heaven" but spiritual things or godly, holy things or even the church etc. Allegory, look it up and see the definition. The papacy is the anti-christ.

(Not us), however when he reads over “all the world” quickly half’s over it and does not make emphasis on it? I was wondering why? I know Abba judged Jerusalem and the killers of the Martyrs, I agree with many things, however why when I read Revelation and Old Testament prophesy I still see “the whole world”, “third of the earth”, “world”. What about 2Peter 3 - what about the Day of the Lord? Isn’t what for the wicked and ungodly? Not just for the Jews?

    REVELATION 21.
If Jesus returned 2,000 years ago then where is new Jerusalem? We are supposed to reign with Christ for 1000 years. Revelation 21 is not a metaphor because God wishes to be with his children again. The entire gospel is about restoration, and that is not complete until we are with him again. This is our ultimate hope.
Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
This did not come to pass in 70 AD.

Multiple Second Coming Visions in Revelation: (book not in chronological order )
Christ returns one time in the future. However, there are several different visions of His return shown from different perspectives in the Book of Revelation.
Christ returns at the end of Revelation chapter 6, with signs in the sun, moon, and stars, as are found in the Olivet Discourse.
Those at the end of the chapter are hiding from the wrath of the Lamb.
Why would they be hiding if Christ is not present?
The "kings", "captains", "might men", "free", and "bond" are also found in chapter 19 at the return of Christ.
He returns at the 7th trumpet, which is the last trumpet in the Bible, and the time of the judgment of the dead in Revelation 11:15-18.
The beginning of chapter 12 is a history lesson containing the fall of Satan, and the birth and death of Christ, who is the seed promised to crush the head of Satan in Genesis 3:15.
The Second Coming is found in the "harvest" of chapter 14, which is related to the parable of the wheat and tares in Matthew chapter 13.
He comes as a thief at Armageddon, and we find the greatest earthquake in history in chapter 16. This occurs when the 7th angel pours out his vial. How powerful is an earthquake which moves islands and destroys the mountains? What is happening to the planet?
He comes on a horse in chapter 19.
    Chapter 20?
Does He come with the fire, and the judgment of the dead at the end of chapter 20, which agrees with what Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, and 2 Timothy 4:1?
(The time of the judgment of the dead is also found in Revelation 11:18.)
There are no mortals left alive on the planet at the end of Matthew 25:31-46.
Why does an angel come down from heaven with a key to unlock the bottomless pit in Revelation 9:1-2, if the pit was not already locked before that time? Are there wicked angels in the pit in Rev. 9:11? If the beast "ascends" from the pit in Rev. chapter 11, where was the beast before that time?
Does your view agree with Peter in 2 Pet. 2:4, and Jude in Jude 1:6, when they both said wicked angels are already in chains of darkness?
Revelation 9:14 proves some of the angels were previously bound in some manner.
Because the two witnesses were bodily resurrected from the dead in Revelation 11, the "first resurrection" at the beginning of Revelation 20 is not the first bodily resurrection in the book.
The principle of "Recapitulation" means there are multiple visions of His return.
    =========================================
    New Covenant Whole Gospel:
What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below.
Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him.
He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.
1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

    How do you explain
“But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear]. For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Let us not be divided as a body. If you have a belief on the end times that differs from this. That’s okay, I urge you to study, and draw closer to Gods word. Why this double standard?? What I've come to understand is that the white Jesus is the false prophet. Because the real Heshuwa is a dark skin man.
