I asked God to take this burden away from me...feeling great 👍 I listen to your channel all the time and it helps me stay focused...I quit drinking 4 years ago...looking forward to living a sober life and giving praise to God. Dude! I've been on and off weed for 18 years and just 8 days ago quit and started going to a 12 step group. Cool! Keep it up bro! It's super important to be in a local church and be accountable to others who can pray for you and encourage you.
Right on Jeremy!! I quit weed for good last year after exactly 20years of daily/all day use...gotta consciously give each day to the Lord!! I never realized how big of a wall herb & or drinks put up between us and the Holy Spirit...plus weed & alcohol are doors for the enemy to use at his leisure. Well done brother & God bless!!!
when jeff said " im not your pastor" I was like dang lol, im currently without a church at the moment, i ask for prayers that the lord will lead me to a very biblical church, hopefully reformed. Im new to Reformed theology and i love it.

This teaching is very important. I have been studying eschatology since 1984 (I was 13). This subject caused me great mental pain because I could never get it to fit properly because of all the false teachings out there. I finally started to figure it out recently and you have confirmed it in your studies. Although I agree we should not dis-fellowship over the issue, it is a vitally important study
Do you know who would be the anti christ under this interpretation? Not an individual? Genuinely curious. I see this viewpoint making a ton of sense too, but other parts of scripture come to mind that I’m not sure how to reconcile yet.

What I love about this forum is we are all pondering The Lord together, working hard to understand His teaching because (hopefully) you love and fear Him. What a wonderful place, I am blessed by your desire and debate!!!
Thanks so much pastor Jeff I have been watching many of your sermons for the past 10 months since God drew me to My Lord Jesus and declared my faith in Him and repent my sins. Wow, what a message. Really opened my eyes to how sometimes we take advantage of what Christ did for us and installed more fear in me of God. Great sermon
The desolations of abomination has to do with us in the last days. Not just about the Jews in the New Testament. And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Daniel 12:11 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God 2 Thessalonians 2:4 There a lot more scriptures but Jeff interpretations is off. Abomination that maketh desolations has to do with us defining the house of God.
@@odefreitas18 The Temple is gone that Jesus pointed too. That is over. The more I consider this (I don't even think it's up for debate at this point LOL) the more I can't help but wonder if certain (false) doctrines in modern Christianity were maliciously created in order to dissuade more people from accepting Christ for who He truly is, and historically/prophetically PROVED IT. The bitterness of realizing just how saturated almost EVERY church is with the doctrine of futurism is QUICKLY overcome with an even stronger conviction and appreciation that Christ is indeed Lord, not liar, nor lunatic.
Just a slight correction Jeff. The first legion of Roman soldiers that surrounded Jerusalem was sent by the Governor of Syria. They suddenly withdrew for no known reason and the Jewish rebels pursued them and massacred them. This so angered Emperor Nero who sent General Vespacian (who took with him his son, General Titus) to Judea to put a stop to the rebellion. He brought with him legions of Roman soldiers.
Luke 21:24 is talking about the fall of Jerusalem, 70 A.D. Trampled under foot by the gentiles (Romans) and the time of the gentiles (Jewish world leadership has never existed since).
The tribulation (written of in the book of Revelation) lasts 7 years, and that is one "week" according to Daniels prophetic timeline, so I think the 70th week is yet to come.
@@laronwilburn304 But the Lord Jesus Christ did NOT say that the Kingdom of Israel would NOT occur later, only that the disciples would not know the times or seasons that the Father has set. (Acts 1:6-7)
@@hokieham Let's test your assertion. Why did the Jews of the Lord Jesus Christ's time, including his disciples, believe that the Messiah was going to rule from David's throne at his coming? Again, check out Acts 1:6-7.
John Doe I’m not sure. At the “2nd coming,” the Dead rise first. From where? This is a question I still have. I assume we are in “Sheol.” But as to who greats us until the 2nd coming, the only analogy I’ve read in scripture is that of Lazarus the poor man, who is carried by the angels to Abraham’s side (Luke 16). What say you?
John Doe I understand it was a parable, but that’s how Jesus communicated truth to his Disciples. It’s what he said. Revelation 20:4&5 talks about those who had been persecuted for Christ, raised and reigning with him....and some were not raised. In verses 11-15 the rest await the White Throne Judgement...where are they?
John Doe That doesn’t change anything I’ve said. Those who were persecuted for Christ are the ones Revelation says are raised. A persecuted Christian wrote that to Early Apostolic Christians being persecuted...who have been raised according to Revelation. The rest have not. So, You still didn’t answer my question, where are the ones who were not and await the White Thrown Judgement?
@@JohnDoe-le8fy concerning the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man, plenty of things in parables can represent something else, but I do not know of a single parable that used made up things to relay a message. I.e. in the parable of the 10 Virgins in Matthew 25, the oil can be a metaphor for something (like justification) but oil is a real thing that is used to make the concept simpler. Jesus doesn't make up things for His parables, he uses real examples to illustrate a point. Likewise, I'd say unless you have really good reasons to the contrary, the idea of a real afterlife (Abraham's Bosom) was as real to the listeners of Jesus as oil and lamps were. If you disagree, can you give an example of a parable by Jesus that used non-real things? Or is this parable the only one?
John Doe Dude, it’s Revelation, not Revelation(s). I get it, you’re a full preterist. I understand the ages perfectly fine, and don’t arrive at your conclusions based on the text. You aren’t listening, so I’ll have to be done with this conversation. Have a good day.
"Flee to the mountains" (Matthew 24:16) is repeated again by John in Revelation 18:4 which says, "Depart from her my people or you shall share in her sin". Depart from Jerusalem and don't enter it (Luke 21:21).
Which is after the destruction of the temple in 70AD. In our time now we can look back and see that this is a future event. I agree that it happened in the past as well but it will happen again but this time with the antichrist on the scene. The kingdom of God is within us but the heavenly kingdom we are waiting for is New Jerusalem. It’s an everlasting kingdom. There will be a new heaven and new earth.
Jeff Durbin believes that the book of revelation was written before 70 AD. I haven’t studied that in-depth, but I can see some legit points on both sides. I’ve heard Jeff recommend the book Before Jerusalem Fell by Kenneth Gentry, if you are interested in researching his perspective.
@@ghc9123 Whenever I read Revelation I’ve learned to let it speak for itself; without imposing any presupposition into the text... I firmly believe it was sent to the churches before 70AD to warn them all of impending judgement; the judgement Jesus prophesied in His Olivet Discourse with pinpoint accuracy...
@@lavieenrose5954 👍 I agree. Coming from a pre-mil dispensational church, I had a lot of questions that I never bothered looking into because no one else questioned, so I assumed I just didn’t get it. However, after being exposed to Durbin’s teaching, I began to actually study for myself, and I realized the inconsistency of my beliefs when confronted with scripture and church history. Eventually, I came to the same conclusion as you. Douglas Wilson’s book When the Man Comes Around was a big help to me in solidifying my views and explaining them to others. I would highly recommend it. Assuming you haven’t already read it.😁 Thanks for commenting, it’s encouraging to hear others coming to that conclusion. God bless!
One of the first points I heard made about this topic was that, if Yeshua is describing a world -ending event, what difference would running to the hills make? Another was about lightning being a local event. I had to drop all my preconceived notions about Jesus on a cloud coming down to destroy the planet. As soon as I was able to do that, and keep in mind the fact that he was talking to actual people who really lived in the first century, the meaning is clear as day.
I wish all shepherds like Jeff preached like this, instead of the feel good lukewarm sermons of most preachers I pray that I could find a local church like this where I live

Hi Jeff...very much appreciate your teachings. Regarding Lee's (forget his last name now) shaking your hand and expressing his gratitude for your work: I watched the debate with Dr. White, and honestly, I think he longs to be refuted. That is, somehow the enemy has undermined his faith, and amidst all of his doubts, confusion, and objections, at the bottom, he longs to believe. So, he's grateful for your ministry, because it's a proclamation of truth, a point of light, if you will, in his darkened view of reality.
Around 23:00 pastor Jeff mentioned a teaching by ken Gentry on Daniel 9, and I was wondering you guys could link it or if anyone knows which one he was talking about.
I believe it is a reference in his book on Postmillenialism which goes into Daniel 9. I would recommend reading Samuel Frost’s book “Daniel Unplugged.”
After a couple days of sitting on this, God brought me to Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” It is intentional that God wants us to search for Him. He wants us to be in community with Him, intimately aquatinted. The Holy Spirit convicted me of my lazy, half hearted pursuit of Him. #diggingin

That was God's good grace upon you! He is false teaching and doing you a disservice. The beast system is still very much in power and most major religions have been infiltrated by Tares (wolves in sheep's clothing) and they are all preparing their congregations to support the antichrist. By getting you to believe that everything is hunky dory and that the Book of Revelation was already fulfilled is to get you to let down your guard. Notice the 5 wise virgins kept looking for the Bridegroom to come and continually had their lamps full of oil. If you read the Bible with the Holy Spirit's teachings you can clearly discern false teachings.
@@coko3124 you don't know what your talking about, troll. It is very clear to me that this power that will rise up and destroy the whore of Babylon is going to appear as a good guy But we know from scripture it is a ravenous wolf. So when the whore of Babylon is destroyed and everybody cheers if you don’t read the Scriptures or if it hasn’t been interpreted to you plainly by your pastor or whoever the Bible teacher but really you should be reading it on your own then you’re not going to notice that this is not a good guy. This is really great teaching to compare the ultimate rejection of the covenant with the ultimate confirmation of the covenant with forgiveness happening all at the same time! Also nailing down that Christ’s sacrifice is the sacrifice once and for all. Many try to claim the cut off one as the antichrist in Daniel 9:27 instead of understanding it’s Jesus. I typically only hear this teaching from Adventist (SDA) theology today, but this is the teaching of the reformation churches.
PWP Packaging - if by “rapture” you are referring to a removal of the church from the world (eg before, during or after the tribulation), that is a non-Biblical teaching. It’s a very common teaching today but you won’t find it in the Bible. Now if by “rapture” you’re simply referring to us being caught up in the air with Christ (as a part of His triumphal return) that IS Biblical and will occur when He returns. When is that? Beyond my pay grade 😄 It will be a glorious day. That I know.
kbuzbee , So... I have been following Jeff on RUclips for a while and really appreciate the teachings. I’m having a new appreciation for the reform movement in our Protestant faith. Jeff, could you please address the fact Jesus speaks of the "abomination of desolation" in Mark 13:14 as a future event? I am wrestling with Daniel 8, and whether it concerns the second coming, not the first.
It was future to the disciples but in Luke 21 Luke tells us what the "abomination of desolation" is when he says Luke 21:20-21 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains"
@@vanessapsalm91 you misunderstood me what Luke says in Luke 21 already happened when the Roman army surrounded Jerusalem in 70 AD. The Romans surrounded the city then pulled back and when they did all the Christians in the city fled to a town called Pella in the mountains. I couldn't find any article saying that Palestinians and middle easterners were fleeing to the mountains this was already fulfilled in the first century.
@@Chico60Colt Chris, could you please provide an historic reference for the Christians fleeing to Pella? I do not think I encountered that before and would like to read of it. Josephus recounts much of the siege and apparently acted as a negotiator. There were periods when Titus just let the discouraged leave. And there was a period when Titus "left off the siege" but that was to give the rebels a opportunity to rethink their cause due to the Roman's successes of pushing the rebels back and the destruction of some fortifications used by the rebels (Wars Book 5, 9:1). If Josephus is correct, Titus did not consent to the destruction of the temple in Wars Book 6 Chapter 4).
This is so compelling! Ironically I’m listening to a sermon from John MacArthur and he is preaching premillennialism. Both pastors I respect deeply and both bring compelling arguments. I would love to see a discussion between these two about Mathew 24. I’m leaning towards Jeff Durbin because it all makes sense what he’s saying but I still can’t make sense of the millennial reign being right now because Satan doesn’t seem bound in the abyss like Revelation declares.
Satan is bound. Scripture to back it up: “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.” Matthew 12:28-29 ESV “The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” Luke 10:17-19 ESV Satan had a change in status at the resurrection. God is plundering his house & gathering in the elect.
Thank you so much for sharing! What is your take on the sacrificial system prophesied by Ezekiel that will unfold in our future, as well as all the other priestly roles of the Levites?
Read Hebrews. The very idea of doing sacrifices is like sacrificing Christ again and again, which shows the idea of, "Jesus didn't do enough, he is insufficient." Often in the Old Testament you hear that God "Took no pleasure in sacrifices." Simply put, rebuilding a temple requires sacrifices, and such sacrifices are blasphemy against his finished work. This is repeated many times in the NT, while the idea of a rebuilt Temple and Levitical system Are NO WHERE to be found in the NT.
Love the teaching and listening to the points made, but i struggle with some of the points asserted. Understood from listening to other teaching from Jeff, he believes revelation was fulfilled in 70 A.D. Which i struggle with... But either way i'm glad to listen and hear someone i trust scripturally differs from me that isn't a pre-everything.... A number of points simply don't add up. Even caught Dr. White suggest in one debate a few weeks back suggest Revelation was written in 90 A.D....
He doesn't believe all of it was fulfilled in 70 AD. He believes the final battle, second coming, and judgment and new creation are all future. If he didn't he would be a heretic
@@mattbaldwin247 Thanks the info. Hearing partial preterism, is that like partially pregnant? Or as we know Christ said a little leaven leavens the entire lump. I'd be the first to agree a lot with end times eschatology can be tricky and hard to comprehend and none of us have the place to say what is right or wrong dogmatically. Just troubling when one might take a theological view that has major problem first with history and worse the Bible itself, just hard to see a partial view of a bad doctrine is any good. Never heard a preterist in any manor agree Revelation was written after Jerusalem's destruction for example all would say before 70A.D. We know John was not exiled to Patmos until 94 A.D.
Double fulfillment of prophecy. He even admitted that it was a thing. He denies that this can be double fulfillment of prophecy. What's crazy is the wicked are already moving towards everything the Book of Revelation talks about and people are still believing this preterist nonsense.
GENUINE QUESTION: When Jeff speaks about the 70th week, the last 7 years, that 3 1/2 years into it, Christ is crucified. I can see that clear as day. However, he says that 3 1/2 years later, we get the events of Acts 10 where Peter has the vision for the Gentiles. I can't find any sources that teaches that the events in Acts 10 happen only 3 1/2 years after Christ's Resurrection. All of my sources teach that it happened between 5-7 years after Pentecost. Where are there sources that show that the events of Peter in Acts 10 happened 3 1/2 years after Christ's Resurrection?
I thought the same thing. The events of Peter in Acts chapter 7 appear to be more than 3 1/2 years after the crucifixion. Plus, in Daniel chapter 9, it states that the Messiah would be cut off after the 62 weeks. This means it would end at His crucifixion not His baptism 3 to 3 1/2 years earlier. I would like more information when this took place with Peter in Acts chapter 10.
Can I make a book recommendation for you that actually gives a more Jewish preterist view? Daniel Unplugged by Samuel Frost. You brought out a good point with your question. Sam Frost has a better answer.
Dude, get Daniel Unplugged by Samuel Frost. You will get the Jewish preterist position which is waaaaaaay more consistent than what Jeff explained. You’re hitting on very important things that Jeff clearly goofed on.
Interesting stuff. I would love to here how you think it ends for us, the church. God was cut off by non believing Jews, jesus was cut off by his death on the cross. Now we have the 3rd part of God, the Holy spirit. What is your thought on the Holy spirit being removed?
God was never and will ever be cut off. This is all his plan and he is in control of all things. Jesus was cut off by his death by not physically being on earth. The Holy Spirit is not removed. Consider these verses: Mark 13:19 and Daniel 12:1. Michael is the angel that protects God’s people. It appears as if when he stands we have trouble like never before or ever shall be. This is a time of great tribulation when satan makes war with the saints all the way through the wrath of God. No matter how hard it has been in our time or in the past could possibly equal that time to come. As for your question about how it will it end for the true believers.... beautifully!!!
30:27. I was just reading Luke 11 yesterday and came across verse 20 where Christ says “..then the kingdom of God has come upon you”. I used to be a dispensationalist until verses like these raised red flags everywhere.
For some reason Jeff doesn't mention Daniel 12, when the resurrection of the just and the unjust happened, after the the abomination of desolation is set up, and the power of the holy people have been completely shattered. The coming of the Lord is connected to the resurrection.
While many get stuck in Daniel 9 with the Seventy Weeks all they need to do is keep reading through to the end of Daniel. While much is explained for greater clarity, Daniel is still struggling for answers and understanding in 12:8. Imagine, here we have respected prophet of God getting direct information from Gabriel and other messengers from God while we're stuck with RUclips yahoos spouting drivel. After Daniel gets his heart crushed by finding out that his people are going to blow it all over again, he's left with the promise that he'll die but stand with his people at the end of days. He could at least take some comfort that Michael stands for his people and delivers those written in the book. It does appear that a resurrection follows thereafter but it does not appear to be a complete resurrection due to the word "many".
@@mcgeorgerl doesn't Paul and Christ both refer to Daniel 12:1 for their ressurection doctrine , for Paul it would be Acts 24:14-16 and for Christ it would be John 5:28-29, they both refer to Daniel on their view of ressurection, it's a complete one, Daniel teaches it occurs after the tribulation and when the old covanent power would be shattered, Daniel 12:8 , if the text is correct the ressurection should have taken place at the fall and destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in AD 70, the " end of days" at the end of Daniel 12 refer to the " time of the end" the end of the age, where Daniel received his resurrection reward,. Scripture points to a ressurection in our past but in the apostles and old testament prophets future, Mathew 24 stems from Daniel 9 and 12, Pastor Jeff stays away of 12 because it teaches the ressurection at the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD, he doesn't want to go there, due to his partial preterism postmillenialism,
@@andrebias3534 I'm "spitballing" here as I have to leave in a few minutes. I think a person could spend the greater portion of their live doing nothing other than study the resurrections. Moses was resurrected. Then we have all those who were raised from the dead by Christ and the disciples. Then those who were resurrected at Christ's death on the cross. Possibly Paul at his stoning. Those resurrected by disciples AFTER the ascension of Christ. The resurrection of the dead in Christ who join the living saints. The "First Resurrection" of Rev 20:5 and the one 1000 years later for the Great White Throne. Man, I never listed these before. We've got more people popping up from the dead than in the "Highlander" series. I'll read your post in more detail when I have the opportunity later.
@@andrebias3534 Oooops… Forgot one. Maybe 2. Two Witnesses - Dead 3 days then resurrected. The other MAY be Jonah. It's been a while since I read the account.
@@andrebias3534 Let's assume both Christ and Paul knew Daniel better than any one person extant. So both knew that at some point, Michael is going to "standeth for the children of Israel" for the purpose of delivering them (Dan 12:1). And at some point thereafter there is a resurrection of many of the dead and a sorting out to everlasting life or shame and contempt. John 5 is interesting in that verse 25 is a KILLER verse. In that resurrection Christ again speaks of a sorting of "good" and "evil" but there's a difference isn't there. This time it's "all" who are resurrected. In Acts, Paul speaks again of a resurrection of "just" and unjust" so there's s sorting there as well. In 1 Thess 4:17 we have a resurrection of the dead and a catching up of the living, all saints apparently. And Paul relates something new, a mystery, in 1 Cor 15:51again with no mention of any unrighteous where, apparently, not all are "sleeping". In Rev 20 we have a "first resurrection" where those are "blessed and holy". And 1000 years later another resurrection in which we have a resurrection has another sorting out (Rev 20:15). Back to Daniel now... Daniel asks, twice, when this is to occur. He's given time times and a half and 1290 days. Let's accept 3-1/2 years. The next bit confounds many because there's something ELSE for those "blessed" 45 days later at 1335 days. Shall we accept this 3-1/2 years to be the 2nd half of the 70th week which most put 3-1/2 years after the crucifixion? If so, what does any of this have to do with 66-73 A. D.?
Preterism is great if you ignore vast amounts of prophetic old and new testament teaching. I'll say this much, there is a lot of prophecy that is fulfilled in the preterist view. And this much is expected. Jesus' discourse applied not only to that generation but to the final generation as well. We actually have biblical prophecy that is partially fulfilled at one point in time, then completely fulfilled at a later time. These initial partial fulfillments are often small "tastes" of what the final prophetic fulfillment will be. A.good example of this: Scholars generally agree that the first reference of these prophecies is the Seleucid king Antiochus Epiphanes IV, who ruled Palestine from 175-64 B.C. Antiochus treated Israel with such violence and contempt that they rebelled against him. When he came to suppress the rebellion, his forces entered the temple, stopped the regular sacrifices, set up an idol of or altar for Zeus, and apparently offered swine there as a sacrifice. This is an abomination because it is idolatry, and it brings desolation because it defiles the holy place at the heart of Israel. This act was the abomination “of” desolation, the abomination “causing” desolation. This was prior to Jesus' arrival! Are we to assume that the prophecy of daniel was in direct reference to this specific incident? Absolutely! But this incident alone? Hardly. Going back to preterism, how can we ignore the vast amounts of prophecy describing the state of the world as a whole in the end times, prior to Christ's 1000 year reign? The one world government and religion, the beast system, the great deception, the persecution of the church on a world-wide scale There is quite a bit of symbolism in these prophecies, but some of the language is very blatant, and cannot be passed off as metaphorical.
Well said! I loved Pastor Jeff's teachings but he contradicted himself when he says (in another video) that there is no double fulfillment of prophecy concerning the antichrist and beast system but then in this video admitted that there is a double fulfillment of prophecy. It's not up to him to say what is and isn't double fulfillment or foreshadowing of prophecy. I wanted so badly to believe his pretorist story but when I unpacked it all and read between the lines and his ultra passionate way of gaslighting his congregation I was more than disappointed. Beware of 🐺s in 🐏s clothing. I have discerned him to be a wolf. You cannot read the scriptures honestly and teach this fantasy.
@@coko3124 I don't think I'd go that far. Pastor Jeff is just another human like the rest of us. And unfortunately, in the church, eschatology is possibly the most contested issue. Jeff still does believe we are saved by grace through faith. Definitely more Calvinist leaving, but he's a good guy.
@@MadProphet_97 I certainly do not know his heart but it really troubled me when I saw him downplay conspiracy theories and the evil of freemasonry and freemasonry symbolism on his late night talk show and coming from Mormonism which I was in for 37 years I thought that our profit was a profit and was a good guy but there Is a lot that points to him actually being a Freemason or a part of that occult world.man So I never look on the outward appearance and I never judge people by the fruit that they love to show everybody. However, I do not know his heart but I err on the side of caution because that is what the Scripture tells us to do and is to be aware of wolves in sheep’s clothing and Paul mentions discerning of spirits.I honestly feel like giving this man who is in charge of a huge congregation of people The benefit of the doubt is very naive for me. I really liked his teachings at first but when I read the Bible it didn’t sit with me at all, eschatology wise, and I am super careful because of my experience in the Mormon church.
Will THE TRUMPET be played in the city, and the town will not be disturbed? Will there be any evil in the city, WHICH JEHOVAH HAS NOT DONE? For the Lord Jehovah WILL NOT DO ANYTHING, WITHOUT Revealing His Secret to His Servants, the Prophets
Revelation was written in 95 AD, twenty five years after Titus destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. The early church fathers told us John was imprisoned on Patmos under the reign of Emperor Domitian.
@@SerenityNow22 The early church fathers said John was on Patmos during the reign of Domitian. This comes from Irenaeus, disciple of Polycarp who was the disciple of John. I don’t care about Roman eschatology derived from Origen 200 years after Irenaeus because he hated Jews and there was no nation of Israel or city of Jerusalem standing and he couldn’t harmonize the prophetic texts. Find better eschatology than recycled 1600 year old Roman Catholic AMillennialism the Reformers who also saw no literal Israel regathered one the land and Jerusalem rebuilt were too ignorant and lacking faith to challenge. The Bible says what it means.
@@thirdplace3973 I love your comment. Say it loudly. There's something deeply disturbing about this perspective. Hearing your voice on this confirms for me that it may have many points of weakness and is at its core, insidious in some sense.
I believe in the early date. I believe Revelation is God’s divine judgement on apostate Israel of the first century; God unleashed His wrath upon the wicked and perverse generation who killed the prophets and the Lord Jesus Christ.
What old texts are available to read that tells the historical account of those 1st century times? I keep hearing of Josephus, are there any of his writings available that we can understand?
I have always been taught that Daniels prophecy was future. Even now so many ppl refer to this passage as for our future to know the end of the world. Thank apologia !
You were discussing earlier how God is into symbolism. Is it possible, the past, historical destruction of Jerusalem, is also a symbol of things to come? I have believed in 'the rapture' of the church as long as I can remember, I don't want to be bound by tradition, but I still struggle doing away with 'the rapture' (harpadzo). Is it your understanding that the tribulation has already happened?
Preterists are people who believe the tribulation has already happened. I'm not one of those people. Read The Word carefully, and ask God to reveal the the truth before you jettison your whole framework.
Jeff is difficult to understand because he jumps around so much. If you want to understand more, read and study the Bible yourself. I hold to a pre trib rapture but you have to go deeper than what Jeff does. This is my main question for people as far as the rapture is concerned. What is the purpose of the tribulation? Is it for judgement of those who are already in Christ and have already been made righteous by the blood of the lamb. Is it for the national salvation of the Jews, Romans 11:25-26, Zechariah 13:8-8? Is it for the judgement of the world, Revelation 3:10? I don’t know why it so hard to distinguish between God’s plan for the Jews and God’s plan for the church. Way too many allegorize the book of Revelation and all the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets. Over 100 prophecies were fulfilled in the first coming of Jesus. Why would we ignore all the other prophecies in the Bible? If God does not fulfill all the promises made to the Jewish people then why would we have faith in all the promises made to believers? Matthew 23:38. Behold. Your house is being left to you desolate. For I say you, from now on you will not see me until you say blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Has this happened yet? Is Israel in all the land that was promise them for an irrevocable and eternal promise Genesis 15:17-20? When is that going to happen? How about Genesis 17:8? How about Genesis 48:1-4? There are promises made to the Jewish people that are yet to be fulfilled but they will be fulfilled in the future. Consider these questions and actually there are many more that I could ask but start with these. Do some reading and studying for yourself with a good study Bible.

The more I consider this (I don't even think it's up for debate at this point LOL) the more I can't help but wonder if certain (false) doctrines in modern Christianity were maliciously created in order to dissuade more people from accepting Christ for who He truly is, and historically/prophetically PROVED IT.

I think the 70th week is yet to come, between the 69th and 70th, is the church age talked about in Luke 21:24

Whenever I read Revelation I’ve learned to let it speak for itself; without imposing any presupposition into the text...
Oh wow! Our Lord Reigns!

Where's the video from Uncle Gary?
Excellent ! Praise God !
Jeff does an awesome job of tying together Old Testament prophecy with the New Testament fulfillment. Are there any good books out there on this?
G.K. Beale's "Commentary on the New Testament Useful of the Old Testament" is one excellent book.
John McGough - Paradise Restored, Chilton and His follow up book Days of Vengeance is excellent
#diggingin

as it has been said here already, any way to put the "kingdom of God" series through the Gospel of Matthew into a playlist? i've tried searching for the sermons and many are there but hard to find. if not, i still thank you for your faithful preaching of the word. It is refreshing.
I would've never left Phoenix if I new about this church and this pastor. Holy CRAP!
If there are emphatic points Pastor Durbin pushes continually, it is to not let your guard down looking for a rapture escape and to keep fulfilling the Great Commission, making disciples and advancing the Gospel of Christ. He never lets up on that charge. You can't prove the great tribulation is a future event, but it could be, who knows and who cares, these are non-essentials, but u hold out the same hard-headed, haughty, dogmatic Jehovah's Witness-quality ignorance that drove me out of fundamental Pentacostalism.
@@slamtheleft we are to be always watching for the return of the bridegroom. To say that we only are waiting to be raptured and not fulfill the great commission is a lie. I live by every word that comes from the mouth of God and I do both. Jeff paints a picture that is false. You can look for Jesus to come again which the scriptures say is wise while fulfilling the great commission and oh fun fact about me is I left the Mormon church after 37 years, that is preparing its members to accept the Antichrist. I have bone chilling experiences with this and you best believe that understanding what is unfolding is important to pay attention to. God specifically told me to warn his people after telling me to read Matthew 24:26. I am not a troll. I am a watchman.
@@coko3124 well, good luck with these megalomanical proclamations. To say Jeff Durbin is a false teacher, false whatever, is absolutely delusional. What a lot of people fail to realize and put together is that the beast system has two parts and it talks about the whore of Babylon ruling the beast system but then that will be thwarted by another in the beast system but only because they want to give the power to the antichrist. So much respect for that intro!
Jeff, this is the best sermon I’ve heard from you in a long time. So engaging and quite frankly, fun! Thank you for your faithfulness to our Lord.
Pastor Durbin you look like Nebuchadnezzar with the beard. Love that beard.
Thank you soooo much!!!
Good job
This is really great teaching to compare the ultimate rejection of the covenant with the ultimate confirmation of the covenant with forgiveness happening all at the same time! Also nailing down that Christ’s sacrifice is the sacrifice once and for all. Many try to claim the cut off one as the antichrist in Daniel 9:27 instead of understanding it’s Jesus. I typically only hear this teaching from Adventist (SDA) theology today, but this is the teaching of the reformation churches.
Great video thank you. Where do you get the time markers for Peter going to the gentiles?
Jeff, where are we related to what the scriptures say about the rapture of the church?
PWP Packaging - if by “rapture” you are referring to a removal of the church from the world (eg before, during or after the tribulation), that is a non-Biblical teaching. It’s a very common teaching today but you won’t find it in the Bible. Now if by “rapture” you’re simply referring to us being caught up in the air with Christ (as a part of His triumphal return) that IS Biblical and will occur when He returns. When is that? Beyond my pay grade 😄 It will be a glorious day. That I know.
kbuzbee thanks for the reply
Acts 1:8-11
Did this happen as we read?
PWP Packaging Yes 😄
kbuzbee , So... I have been following Jeff on RUclips for a while and really appreciate the teachings. I’m having a new appreciation for the reform movement in our Protestant faith.
The post tribulation view has always been a real question for me. This message has opened my mind to understanding this end time view.
Always had a pre-tribulation view that has kinda taken me out of the fight.
MacArthur has a great interpretation of the end times. This is a good one to ponder as well.
BlazingLove3:16 - no he actually doesn't.
Dynamite Fresh - I didn't say he wasn't a good teacher, i just disagreed with the comment about his eschatology.
Scripture to back it up:
“But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.”
Matthew 12:28-29 ESV
“The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”
Luke 10:17-19 ESV
Satan had a change in status at the resurrection. God is plundering his house & gathering in the elect.
Thank you so much for sharing! What is your take on the sacrificial system prophesied by Ezekiel that will unfold in our future, as well as all the other priestly roles of the Levites?
Read Hebrews. The very idea of doing sacrifices is like sacrificing Christ again and again, which shows the idea of, "Jesus didn't do enough, he is insufficient."
Often in the Old Testament you hear that God "Took no pleasure in sacrifices."
Simply put, rebuilding a temple requires sacrifices, and such sacrifices are blasphemy against his finished work.
@@Iffmeister Hmm sure sounds like a preterist view. No?
He believes in Partial preterism, hyper preterism believes all has been fulfilled.
ADs popping up frequently during the sermon is just plain wrong.
Why do I have so many ads?🤨
I started reading Daniel and I keep running into things about Daniel, I wonder if God is showing me something
Book recommendation:
Daniel Unplugged by Samuel Frost.

False. There’s very good internal & external evidence for the early dating of Revelation.
@@lavieenrose5954 Then you need to pervert the scriptures like Origen did and allegorize everything.

It's so difficult to comprehend pastor Jeff, hopefully I'll get better in understanding him...
Any resources for Daniel 12:4?
Daniel Unplugged by Samuel Frost. I promise you that you will not regret the purchase.
Please, will you recommend a solid, Bible based church in the Denver/Parker area of Colorado? I have looked but haven’t found any yet. Thank you.
