A huge band. They marked my adolescence. They really returned the joy and revelation to rock that seemed to have diminished in 1974. They demonstrated to the world that it was not necessary to be a prodigy musician to be able to play on stage- It was necessary to have energy and something to tell. They were and are a great band.
They were first official punk band but they become significant very late, which is ridicule, they were true and rare real punk band, but they didn't achieve much in my opinion, best thing about them is that they didn't change their style at all, all songs are basically the same...
Tommy..God Rest His Soul was the only one with class to applaud Joey with meaning and not just "an oh by the way" comment. That spoke volumes about his character.
The Ramones are in, and who cares about those other guys, and I mean ALL those other guys. Eat your hearts out. Dee Dee, best speech ever. Come back to life.
Rest In Peace to Joey, Johnny, Dee-Dee, and Tommy. True Punk Rock Legends, that influence a bunch of bands after them. From creating something original to making it to Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!
This ceremony took place on March 18, 2002. Dee Dee died on June 5th, less than three months after this. He was 50. No original Ramone member was left alive after Tommie died in 2014, but 2nd drummer Marky, 2nd bassist C.J. and 1983-1987 drummers Ritchie and "Elvis" (Clem Burke helping out for two gigs) still survive as of February, 2022.
Wow I remember watching this live lol love the Ramones such an amazing band and it sucks that I was only 1 when they stopped because I would've loved to see them live
This is from March 2002. Joey died in April 2001, Dee Dee died in June 2002, Johnny died in September 2004 and Tommy died in 2014. Marky, Richie and CJ are still alive.
just looking of how they were with each other, you can just… feel the tension with each one! but tommy at 2:54 really sum up the relationship within that core for what the Ramones were… brothers
How is it possible that Dee Dee seemed to have what I would expect the exact same reaction when he was 25 getting an ice cream as to getting inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. He had his issues but really seemed to come out of a hard business fundamentally unchanged and sweet. My heart...love Dee Dee.
I have only started to listen to the Ramones, i was kind of stubborn musically when i was a teen, i just assumed they weren't my thing without listening to them, i'm 28 now and i'm so impressed by them, Listen to my heart, we're a happy family, 53rd and 3rd, i just want to have something to do and so on...and i'm actually sad when i see them in interviews or listen to them, that they're all dead... i'm from Dublin and they played here at least 3 times and i know some of the venues, what a shame, what a shame, hopefully we'll all meet again some day, or some of us for the first time. All of them were so interesting and unique...they worked hard and really enjoyed what they did...they were a great band.

Dee Dee did most of the work and received most of the royalties. Most of all the songs were written by him in complaint the lyrics and the music. Even though they started to suffer due to DD's addiction to heroin but Dee Dee was the real talent
For those who have not already done so, I recommend going to read Marky's book, in which he describes what happened immediately after the award was given, when the Ramones got off the stage
@@TheWinstonSlip Johnny had forgotten the nomination item, and when it was returned to him, he was given Joey's. They both did not notice the mistake and, for years, they kept the wrong one at home.
I'd like to thank Tommy Ramone, for his creation of a driving beat behind the drums. & delivering some of the greatest records, even two debut ones with different drummers (Road To Ruin w/Marky, Too Tough to Die w/Richie). Behind the kit, or behind the board - he defined the Ramones sound. Thank you, for defining the Backbone in the band. Johnny Ramone, for his dedication & sheer stamina, ripping through songs like a chainsaw. Thank you, for being the Muscle in the band. Joey Ramone, for his lanky outsider build, gave hope to all the cretins. His voice, both soft & roaring, he could lull you to sleep or get you going - both in good ways. Thank you for being the Heart of the band. Dee Dee Ramone, for your talented song writing, aspiring many bass players (such as myself) to listen to our heart, even if we were strung out on glue. Thank you, for being the Soul of the band. To Marky, Richie, & CJ - thank you for keeping the band going, in times where it may have seemed like the end. 1974 - 1996. Long Live The R.A.M.O.N.E.S

Rest In Peace
Pensar que Joey soñó con ver a The Ramones en el Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll pero jamás pudo ver en vida su sueño hecho realidad ,que en paz descanse Joey Ramone ❤️
that`s like it was with "mamas and papas" without Cass Elliot RNR hall of fame. look like bygone.
Tenes razón, Si no fuera por Joey nunca hubieran llegado, lastima que se acordaron poco de él en ese momento, pero bueh la historia es historia. Los amo y gracias 4ever
Joey was the best. God bless President Bush is a different way of punk style
Es cierto, el fue el primero en morir en 2001
These guys are as quick with their speechs as they were with their songs.
Ramones forever!
I ❤ Ramones
Descansen en paz chicos. Siempre estarán en nuestras memorias.
Dee Dee - "I'll take one too...
*THREEE FOOOUR!!!!* "
the negative detail of johnny, he was a republican, and his attitudes reflect it, very good joey dedicating the song kkk to my baby away
this comment is too underrated
@@mauriciobm5534 You know, that wasn't what it was about, really. Marky told the real story behind the song in an interview.
@@mauriciobm5534 Being a Republican doesn't make someone a bad person. Being a modern day Democrat does though. Better just to be nothing!
Awwwwwww...yasssss! I just love him.
My love to Joey's mom there...& to Mickey. It all ended for the Ramones when our beloved Joey left...he was the center
the facial expressions dee dee makes are hilarious
A huge band. They marked my adolescence. They really returned the joy and revelation to rock that seemed to have diminished in 1974. They demonstrated to the world that it was not necessary to be a prodigy musician to be able to play on stage- It was necessary to have energy and something to tell. They were and are a great band.
Faltaba el numero1 Yoie
DeeDee - "I'll take one too." This ceremony and award seemed so trivial in the context of what the Ramones were, represented and achieved,
Hal R. But yet if anyone deserved it they did
The way I see it the people who really deserve it are the Ramones Elvis The Beatles Iggy and the Stooges when it comes to keeping Rock Alive anyways
They were first official punk band but they become significant very late, which is ridicule, they were true and rare real punk band, but they didn't achieve much in my opinion, best thing about them is that they didn't change their style at all, all songs are basically the same...
"trivial" Because it's the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, yes. They're embarrassing in general.
RIP, the pioneers of punk rock & never to be forgotten. Pure talent in their day leaving us with lasting songs and memories
Tommy holding back the tears after saying "It would have meant everything... to Joey" :( Makes me sad aswell
Tommy is the only one in the band who truly cared about Joey!
Tommy..God Rest His Soul was the only one with class to applaud Joey with meaning and not just "an oh by the way" comment. That spoke volumes about his character.
brenda Capaldi Tommy was a class act. Marky is a fine drummer but things started going down hill when he left the band.
It's speaks more about how bad the others were
Marky really cared about Joey too he was the only ramone member to visit Joey at the hospital he brought Joey a cd player and CD's
Dee Dee's facial expressions throughout are hilarious, he couldn't wait to thank himself 👏👏👏👏 😂 RIP to all these guys, they left us way too soon 💔
Ramones Son el salón de la fama. Gracias por la energía muchachos
Awesome band
This ceremony took place on March 18, 2002. Dee Dee died on June 5th, less than three months after this. He was 50. No original Ramone member was left alive after Tommie died in 2014, but 2nd drummer Marky, 2nd bassist C.J. and 1983-1987 drummers Ritchie and "Elvis" (Clem Burke helping out for two gigs) still survive as of February, 2022.
It really bothers me how Joey was barely mentioned. RIP sweetheart 🖤🤘
Stay on Heaven, Joey, only you could make me cry such a poetry
It amazes me how these guys could be together constantly on the road and not like each other at all. There must have been some kind of respect there.
Chris J you would hope they had respect for each as the band cause they are so amazing!
The best Punk Band ever... congrats from GERMANY
Wow I remember watching this live lol love the Ramones such an amazing band and it sucks that I was only 1 when they stopped because I would've loved to see them live
Great great band. Thanks for the tunes guys! ❤
Dee Dee "I'll take one too" haha

@@greensmurf9623 CRETINS WANNA HOP SOME MORE!
RIP The Ramones...your fans love you forever
This is from March 2002. Joey died in April 2001, Dee Dee died in June 2002, Johnny died in September 2004 and Tommy died in 2014. Marky, Richie and CJ are still alive.
Let's be honest, we were all thinking what Dee Dee was saying anyways
just looking of how they were with each other, you can just… feel the tension with each one! but tommy at 2:54 really sum up the relationship within that core for what the Ramones were… brothers
Brings tears to my eyes watching this the ramones mean allot to me I wish they were still around miss them so much
I have only started to listen to the Ramones, i was kind of stubborn musically when i was a teen, i just assumed they weren't my thing without listening to them, i'm 28 now and i'm so impressed by them, Listen to my heart, we're a happy family, 53rd and 3rd, i just want to have something to do and so on...and i'm actually sad when i see them in interviews or listen to them, that they're all dead... i'm from Dublin and they played here at least 3 times and i know some of the venues, what a shame, what a shame, hopefully we'll all meet again some day, or some of us for the first time. All of them were so interesting and unique...they worked hard and really enjoyed what they did...they were a great band.
i'm dee dee ramone, I'd like to congratulate myself, thank myself, and give myself a big pat on the back, thank you dee dee you're very wonderful, I love you.
I wish Joey could've been there...
They will live forever
Ramones para toda la eternidad !!! 🙌
At the end you can see Johnny patting Dee Dee on the back and Dee Dee flinched saying "I'm kidding!" ...PTSD from years of slaps to the head from him.
Ramones changed my life. Thanks Ramones!
I didn’t remember what year they were inducted and I thought “where’s Joey?” And then I realised that they were inducted in 2002 and now I’m sad
Well said Tommy. Dee Dee you were a punk to the end! Imagine showing up to an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in a coat and tie. 1 2 3 4!
John Householder ramones have never been a punk band.rock n roll hall of fame has nothing to do with punk. Its conformists like pop band ramones who bow to the record company corporates.
@@johnoleary8751 well said your right that's what I say the ramones are a fast rock n roll band not a punk band sex pistols where the first punk band
Then you have no clue what punk are still one of the most influential PUNK bands of all time.
Without Joey there wouldn’t be the songs like “I Wanna Be Sedated”, “KKK Took My Baby Away” and “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker” .
Without Johnny there wouldn't be "KKK took my baby away" either. An unintentional collaboration
Whitout all of them there wouldn't be the band Ramones
Without tommy there wont be a blitzkreig bop!
As musicians i admire them all, as partners, Joey deserved better
In punk/ Rock & Roll there will not be a band like The Ramones . They have left a historical mark forever on music history .
So have the Pistols tho 🤘🤘
Richie and CJ should have been included
We fans know how important members CJ and Ritchie was!
Both saved the band when they came in.
That is true RRHF at its finest ....God Rest Tommy, Johnny and DeeDee..True Legends,,and First But Never Last The Only...JOEY RAMONE..God Rest your sweet soul..THE BEST!!!
It's sad, Joey was not on this day. Joey was the best of all! 😭
Eu simplesmente amo esta banda . Ramones está certamente entre as 5 melhores por sua atitude e energia!!!!

Dee Dee did most of the work and received most of the royalties. Most of all the songs were written by him in complaint the lyrics and the music. Even though they started to suffer due to DD's addiction to heroin but Dee Dee was the real talent
Got to see them live in 1996 on their farewell tour. I'm a lucky man
Speaking of The New York Dolls they should without a doubt be in the Rock And Roll hall of fame.
There was such resistance to the New York Dolls and no doubt a lot of that resistance is the RnRHoF itself.
No, the Hall of Lame is unworthy of the Dolls.
Tommy's speah is amazing, every now and then I come back to list to it.
For those who have not already done so, I recommend going to read Marky's book, in which he describes what happened immediately after the award was given, when the Ramones got off the stage
Can you just tell us please?
@@TheWinstonSlip Johnny had forgotten the nomination item, and when it was returned to him, he was given Joey's. They both did not notice the mistake and, for years, they kept the wrong one at home.
@@andreat.2809 that’s awesome. thanks!
@@TheWinstonSlip You're welcome
I love the ramones music forever .
Dee Dee is the best xD

Joey would've been proud🤘🏼

dee dee's speech was my highschool qoute. he truly had all the right to thank himself! i wish joey was there.
Rest in peace The Ramones band😢😢😢
I met Johnny briefly that night before the ceremony began.
I'm a Rockaway Beach guy so when they sing about it I can picture them taking the Q53 bus and going to Beach 116 St. for the day.
