@@laughteraddict1003 I went to the same show! I even got pulled on stage to save me from being crushed by the crowd! Amazing show, and I miss that version of SOMA.
I know. First time I saw the Ramones there were maybe 50 people in the audience.
Joey was the best he really was hilarious how he said hi to us. Don't forget to enjoy the show.
He sounded kinda sad when he said he’d eventually settle down…. Like maybe he had a hard time finding someone and just pretended he liked the lifestyle…..RIP Joey…. True legend 🙏
He had two girlfriends both dumped him, he was known for dating women at bars, offering them a drink and asking them to walk with him.
The KKK took his baby away
Probably because he already knew he was dying.
Well, it’s said he never recovered from Linda, who left him for Johnny Ramone. That’s also a big part of Joey and Johnny not seeing eye to eye.
The stories that guy could tell. I saw the Ramones on the Lollapalooza tour and they were amazing. It’s where I learned that “1234!” is the best song intro ever conceived. RIP
What a legend... RIP, The Ramones will always be legendary 🖤
"We're screaming out for help" smart answer to a stupid question
Ive had goose bumps since he said it.
The question wasn't all that stupid to be honest. It was a legit question, if you think about it. But then again, your brain probably didn't so there's that.
Never saw this before.
Really cool.
I regret never seeing The Ramones live.
So many good songs!
Joey just seems so damn cool. A sense of humor too.
If only Conan had let him actually finish a sentence
I love his grin. So iconic.
"The Sex Pistols want to fight you" At that time the Sex Pistols probably had a combine weight of about 175 pounds. I am sure it was terrifying news.
I’d wager that to be more than enough weight in streetwise etiquette to knock the shite out of most
@@vecihibostan1743 NYC wasn't anything like it became from the early 90s on. Pretty sure the Ramones would have held their own. 🙄
@shad rokxx Hah! I forgot about that story😂😂😂
R D. 175 lbs truth behind being funny!! I dated girls that weighed more than the sex pistols!
I don't see anything leading me to believe the Sex Pistols thought they would win the fight. Isn't being beaten up, ragged, and without value their entire gimmick?
What a sweet and wonderful guy. Miss him so much.
It’s nearing the end of 2023 and Joey is still the GOAT!
I miss the Ramones. They were so under appreciated in my day!!..
we are as far from this interview as they were from Ramones at their peak
Jesus
Bright side: The Ramones' relative anonymity is long dead. Can't think of a "best rock bands" listicle that doesn't have them somewhere near it these days.
You seem like a barrel of laughs
What?
I'm old and so is Conan
Rip Joey
Forever in our hearts
Gonna listen to some ramones tonight. Thanks for the idea Team Coco.
My hero💔 have loved them since’83. Saw them for the last time in ‘97
I saw these guys at The Bomb Factory in Dallas back in early 90's. One of THE BEST SHOWS I've ever been to. FAST, FURIOUS, IN-YOUR-FACE with no nonsense! It was a blur bc it was over as quick as it had started. I miss them dearly! R.I.P. guys.
Plot twist: They aren't dead, just returned to their old planet !
Music that still lives on from generation to generation. And what other tee shirt is considered a must have in every closet?
RIP Johnny Joey Dee Dee Tommy
Wherever you are Joey... Thanks ❤️
They inspired so many people🤘🏼 Joey was a very nice person
Joey was a great singer, The Ramones where my idols as a teen.
Conan is such a pro. Got to listen to Joey, the absolute icon that he is.
Such a chill, nice dude. Can even take Conan ragging on his hair over and over lol I feel it. My hair is long now, I get comments about it all the time, but short hair just isn’t for everyone
I can't believe all the Ramones are dead
All the originals.
Punk is dead
People age and died
The good die young. I guess God likes their company.
@@1pcfredMore like drugs and alcohol reduce your life expectancy
Very modest and shy guy, from other hand one of the biggest rock legends ever, one and only-Mister Joey Ramone 🖤
Miss Joey. One of a kind that guy.
20 years! ❤❤ You're a Legend, Joey! We luv u for ever n ever! Long live to the Ramones! 🤘🏻Gabba, gabba! Hey!🤘🏻
I don't think i would've survived my childhood without him
Word ✊ 🙌
Plot twist: it’s actually Anjelica Huston pretending to be Howard Stern pretending to be Joey Ramone
Plus a little 'Alice' from POPEYE. Remember from island of the Goons.
Lmao U win +100 internets
I thought more olive oyl
Gen Z idiot
with a twist of Goonies
2 Ramones concerts under my belt and to this day I can still say they were a blast.....gabba gabba hey ! To this day
The Ramones were the absolute pioneers of Punk. I'm glad it's explained that the Sex Pistols came after this band. And if you really want to be amazed this band were Pop / Punk way before that became popular in the 90's / 2000's
Death politician in my mind
The Sex Pistols Nevermind the bollocks was the first punk album. Get over it.
@@nellsonogmore5938And the most relative..
However, MC5 and The Stooges were years before Ramones.
@@nellsonogmore5938false
genuine. the real lulabelle. the kosher salami. the man himself. you're a god, joey. we all miss you so much.
Joey Ramone with a conservative haircut is just David Schwimmer in shades!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I definitely got Ross, not Neo. 😂
Ross Ramone sounds great
or roy orbison
That epic moment when you realize Kevin Nealon and Adrien Broyde were next to Joey all this time.
Conan can talk to anybody...not up, not down, just talk. He's the everyman.
it's great to hear Joey's voice again! Rest In Peace🕯️luv
Sucks they couldn't include the part where The Max Weinberg 7 introduced Joey with "Blitzkrieg Bop."
I remember that. They nailed it!
There's another vid of this uploaded on RUclips that has the part with them doing blitzkrieg bop
@Justin Raap Try this ... v=wAqvp-p36gg
@@irresistablejewel yeah, just looked it up. It's not much longer, but still very cool for Ramones fans trying to get a bit of fun out of their day :)
If anyone is just a casual Ramones fan, probably it doesn't matter, so it's not going to change your world, but still fun for big Ramones fans :)
he is so respectful
Fantastic music still after all these years!
Rock n roll in peace
I used to play their first album coming in from the bars at 2am and drove my roommates crazy. They were perfect-2 minute gems with amazing melodies and Chuck Berry worthy lyrics delivered with punk attitude. Great interview
I read that the last song Joey ever heard before he passed was "In A Little While" by U2. Bono would make a tribute to Joey in concerts. It's a great song, I love it.
Such a Legend!. RIP Joey.
First time I ever heard of the Ramones was the movie RocknRoll High School! I was a kid then first experience with punk rock THANK YOU RAMONES!!!
Awesome freaking movie. R.I.P. Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee from the movie. R..I.P. Tommy as well who had already left the band and replaced by Marky who was in the movie.
Same
Rock n roll high school doesnt mean anything to me.
When Joey Ramone says,"People looked at us like we were ALIENS." I remembered Men in Black II at the Post Office... a postal worker with a Joey Ramone haircut and glasses pulls back his wig to show his true colors (froggish green) and a big eyeball at the end of a tentacle...
Joey was one of the best story tellers and all in truth of course.R.I.P. Legend
I love how Joey just insists on leaving his hair in his eyes. He knows we know he can’t fucking see but the show must go on lol
That story with the road manager really had me going 😂
Thanks for the music Jeffrey Ross Hyman (May 19, 1951 - April 15, 2001)
Joey deserved the best. I love Joey forever🖤
every time I watch an interview with Joey I think hes the coolest person alive
Only thing i find silly is that he couldn't admit that they went heavier on their music from 1984 to 1989, he always said that they didn't change their original sound if you listen to too tough to die, animal boy, halfway to sanity and brain drain the change is so obivious.
Joey Ramone: "We pissed in Johnny Rotten's beer."
Johnny Rotten: "I got pissed on the Ramone's beer."
That might of happened,it might not have.Thats just that geeky looking c***t saying it for laughs and for his gullible fans to automatically believe it.BTW Sex Pistols NMTB is a far better album than any ramones album.
Never happened
When have you ever seen John Lydon drunk? Never. He doesn't take drugs and he doesn't drink.
@@Buz-Lunch-Punx Lighten up, people. It's a joke.
@@JohnDoeXYZ Its not a joke, he's lying about pissing in someones beer. He's also lying about the Ramones being the first punk band. The Sex Pistols had already written most of their songs before the first Ramones album even came out. The reality is that The Sex Pistols created the audience for The Ramones. The Ramones should be very grateful to the Sex Pistols for giving them a career.
I love The Ramones, but I don't appreciate lies.
I love how he says "in barrels" towards the end. Legend...
"The Barrels" and it's guys wearing barrels playing instruments...someone should do it.
Love the guy's voice. Great performer, songwriter, and as Iggy Pop once described him, a landmark. Gabba gabba exceptional.
What is gabba gabba? ,Iggy Pop was good
I miss all 4 of them. They were the best. I saw them so many times in 1992 I got tinnitus.
How many times?
@@rumpledxkn at least 9 that’s how many ticket stubs I still have
@@arnieslab That’s some Phish/ Deadhead stuff. 😂. Were they playing the same show? Because I’ve seen a couple different bands twice or more on the same tour and some of them play the same show every night.
@@rumpledxkn yeah they did, it was pretty much the same set as their Loco Live album. It was still a lot of fun though. I got to meet them a couple times and they were really cool and down to earth people.
My hearing is still ruinned from a motorhead concert. So many people my head was in the speaker. All it took was the first note.. I was deaf for weeks... Funny thing nobody even noticed at school i couldn't hear for 2 weeks..
Joey was such a sweet guy! The Ramone's were a huge part of my High School experience. My biggest regret was not seeing them play live at CBGB when they were a $5 band. Kind of took it for granted that they would always be around.
Love the Ramones, Joey was a very humble very nice human being 🙏
