Only channel of its kind. Absolute mountains of rubble and devastation cleared and beauty brought back to life. All by one man and his friends.
Thank god your back nowt on the telly and this is just perfect viewing
Jesus, tinha seus apóstolos, Dan tem seu Nick, vai que vai
Totally the right idea. Work on upper levels in prep for the roof. And get floor in on that back 4 storey section. I would also like to see some temporary timber bracing, so you don't lose that back top floor window portal in a storm. I would hate to see that be lost now when you are so close to stabilizing it with the new roof.
No, I see life was growing back through the rubble and man said “let’s take over again”.
@ellebelle8515 -- do not forget the people behind the scenes; architects, engineers, consultants, etc. This isn't a one man show; I don't think.
My 4 year old son doesnt like waking up for school, but having a video about the castle never fails to get him downstairs calmly. He is very invested in the progress!
My 2.5 year old LOVES all the power tools😂❤️
who sends a 4 year old to school .. that might be an american .. cuz amy can can

"....we're going to have to buy another ruin...." made me, literally, laugh out loud. I would never bet against you all hitting the goal you outlined. Very impressive. Fun to see the little digger, again.
😂😊😊
I give you 10 years.
I laughed out loud too. What a character😂 I love his humor
There have been several comments telling Dan how to run his channel, that he needs to go back to daily vids or he'll lose subscribers, people will lose interest, etc. First, he already explained why he's cutting back. Second, he's got over 450K subscribers, and this video has over 42K views in an HOUR. I think he'll be just fine doing what he's doing. He doesn't need to kill himself doing daily vids just because a few people say so.
Keep up the excellent work, Dan! We're all (except for a few negative Nellies) behind you. You got this!
It's important to work at your own pace and know your limitations. Balance your project, kids, social life and mental health. You do you, we're just along for the ride. Ignore the vampires 🧛♂️ who want to suck you dry. Thank you for the inspiration.
It's important not to rush and since you started on the Chateau, you nearly had one video out daily...that was exceptional!!
One or max 2 a week it's plenty 👌👍😉😃
Can someone tell me what happened with the 2nd puppy dog?? It doesn't seem to be there anymore??
Super boulot et résultats Dan & Co 😉😃
Agreed. The pace of daily vlogs will kill you and is unsustainable. Imagine finishing back breaking physical work at 10 pm then having to face a computer screen to get a vlog prepared for the following day. It was necessary initially for Dan to build up subscribers and interest but logic dictates he had to cut back.
Yes some of us have followed from the beginning and are addicted, we will just take what we can get. Doing a daily on top of all the other work required here must have been a horrendous schedule. Plus has anyone noticed Dan has a cold? Get well soon and thank you for working through it.
Going to have to buy another ruin at this rate…😂😂😂😂 love it Dan! That is why we keep coming back to watch. Your positivity is boundless.
Lots of Lemsip milk and honey for this young man. With a touch of brandy. Take care of yourself Dan. You need all your strength to complete these plans. So glad that another wing of this chateau is getting sorted. It is looking better with each vlog. Thanking Nick from my heart for his help with this project. ❤
Nick is awesome, everyone needs a friend like Nick 👍🏼
I'm constantly astounded by your determination to restore a building that's in such a deteriorated condition. I wish you success.
Clearly you both built the pyramids in a previous life. Epic ingenuity. Love this channel.
I was thinking along those lines myself.
And Stonehenge. That's where Nick mastered his leverage skills.
There WAS something magical about the forest growing within the walls.... It was like a fairy realm. Lol. I hope when this is done you can hang pics of that area in it's forest state as a reminder of how you found it. That would be so cool ...
I agree.. it was majikal
And if you plan on giving the rooms fancy names, like they did in the old days, please consider naming this room the "Tree Room"!🌳😉
Dan, you should do tree murals all through this room when you are done.
What a wonderful idea! Yes!
Oh no!!! Seeing that old footage almost gave me a heart attack!! LOL!! I hate seeing the roots now, let alone whole trees from back then!
I was thinking the same thing! It would feel right to have the beautiful tree reflected in the room again.
Every time l see wild trees and vines inside or outside of the chateau, l just want to jump on a plane and fly to France and remove them myself. 😅
Large REAL indoor plants would look beautiful
Tell Nick he's an absolute darling brick. The new strategy and Nicks company have lifted you up, Dan. Way to go 🇬🇧
Nick a sympathetic "workhorse. I call him the UK version of Mumbles 🤪, it' a pity that i hardly understand a word he says.
Show Off! 😁 Had to be Nick cracking open a beer with a chainsaw 😂🍻
Best use of a chain saw yet!
Missing the daily vlog but loving both Dans working....is there only one Nick? He's brilliant too
I think I've seen Dan triplets or quadruplets! Nick is simply unique.
2 Dans? No the others are called Nick and Cameron
@@BrightThing Dan does a composite shot where it looks like there are several of him doing work.
@@BrightThingThere we’re two Nicks in this episode, he did it with green screen magic.
@@BrightThingat the 5:19 mark
Gosh...when we are taken back to the reminder of how it was, we again realise all that you've done and mostly sole-handedly! You're a marvel and I'm sure the spirit of this beautiful old castle thanks you! Keep up the awesome work Dan 🥰🤗👏👏👏
Dan, your tenacity and skills continue to impress me. You could never cast anyone to play Nick. He is one of a kind! Crack On!
Dan, how wonderful of you to START this video off with a cheerful and pleasant Good Morning! Glad you are now thinking of the other side of the Chateau's flooring but you are creating so much mess for poor Nick to clean up. Someday it will only require a light dusting, vacuuming and mopping, not a leaf blower and mini-dozer. Keep up the great work!
Someday it will only require a light dusting, vacuuming and mopping, not a leaf blower and mini dozer! Keep up the great work! I could not have said it better!
I think Nick needs a heavy duty helmet! Good job both of you! 🎉
Now THAT is how you pop a cap! Hope you're feeling better soon. Cheers 🍻
“Well finished by Christmas” No problem!
Love this channel.
Watching from Tassie
Love Dan’s ambition and humour ” gotta buy another ruin, because by the christmas we’ll be finished”. But it got me thinking that when all the chateau is really finished, what will I watch 😳 and Dan won’t be one to just sit in the garden with a beverage in his hand. What will he do 😱
That's another eight years and nine months yet, December 2033!?!
Hey, fellow Taswegian. Its a small world 🙂
He did not mention what year.... :D
Retire. Because it will most certainly be finished at Christmas… 2060.
Structural work is the quickest then comes the annoying parts, isolating, plumbing, electrics, rendering etc.
Thankyou for adding the old footage to remind us how far you've come..... congratulations
Well done guys you did incredibly well getting those two beams in,, you sound as though you’ve got a bit of a cold😢
It's amazing to see this side of the chateau, it's like going back in time..but now you the quick solutions for those awkward spots and you have worked out all the best ways to do some of those repetitive jobs..so pleased to see you and Nick again..working as a great team..❤.
I was properly impressed with getting the steel beam inside. That was just straight-up clever.
Big Dan, thanks for another great video, I'm watching from maui I'm on vacation, just came from Lahaina, shed some tears and said a prayer for all the poor souls that lost their lives, God Bless them all

Thank you for looking back! It really does show how much you have done!
YAY! I've completely caught up, just started binging these vlogs about 3 weeks ago and so enjoy watching the progress. Way to go, Dan on getting the roof on and making progress on the next stages of the renovation! I can't wait to see what you accomplish next. Cheering you on from across the pond in the US 🎉 Hardest working RUclipsr out there!
Nick’s got mad skills with that chainsaw bottle opener!🤣🤣
Great you have your MOJO back keep it up. So much progress with two of you
All these tedious fiddly-bits bring me great comfort. It's kept me going, frankly.
me, too! I may live to see it finished!
If you can get those floors in, in two weeks, that would be phenomenal.
I doubt he will. He has the predictive capacity of Elon musk. But let's think positive🤣
@bzuidgeest I too doubt he will get them done in even a month; but why use Elon Musk as your analogy? At least Musk is a Billionaire and puts Rockets into Space and back. More than you do from your mommy's basement. 😂😅😮🤣😱🤫🫣
Well I don't think 2 weeks is going to happen, or even 2 months, but I hope he proves me wrong.

@@dennispatrick4999 because musk takes on challenges and in the end puts rockets in space, but never on the promised deadline. If you knew anything about musk, you would know he has as very large track record for missing his own deadlines. So maybe get out of your own basement ones in a while.
Als both this guy and musk take on challenges a lot of people think are foolish. No need for both of them to be billionaires to find some parallels.
@@bzuidgeest OH, so you judge people by time lines? Which Elon eventually accomplished. Besides, Musk thinks and does things people like you fail to even attempt; yet accomplish.
Been out of my basement since 18, buttercup. And accomplished my goals.

It's just amazing what you've gotten done in the past year. How exciting to be starting on the other wing!
So happy for you Dan that now the large rooms are getting floors....!
dont even think about buying another ruin, this one will take the next 10 years to get it ready for moving in....!
Fabulous idea Dan sort the brick work and arches when you’re on your own them when the guys are there getting the steels In And flooring sorted, fingers crossed for you all stay healthy work safely and stay focused and positive loving your updates abs the progress 👍🎉🎉💪🏴
Ya have a tough cold so hope you get past it soon. Looking forward to seeing the accelerated install. Great to have Nic there to help again. See ya in a few days :)
It's amazing the progress you are making when you don't have to worry about getting out a daily vlog! Nice progress!
Debbie here,,👩🌾 love watching your videos and thank you for not putting the music in for the most part..I sure feel for your back, I hope you have a cute gal that can massage it for ya…😃
Take care Dan , hope your cold gets better quick quick ❤
Love seeing every bit of progress and wonderful knowing Nick is onboard to help! No Cameron, though? Did I miss something? Best of everything to each of you. 😃
The chainsaw to take the beer cap off! 🤣🤣🤣
This is so exciting we could have another part of the roof on 😮
That's very exciting to have the floors on the other side going in, and a roof!
Looking back at the trees growing inside beautifully captured the magic of the Chateau, sweet.
Great having Nick back 😊 .. Dan what a job you guys are doing love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Looking forward to watching the race to the top!
Happy to see the next steps in this magnificent journey! Thank you to Nick & the other gentleman who is assisting you Dan, I do get concerned when your out there alone. Be safe and we will see you on the next installment!! Fantastic workings.
So sorry you are't feeling well Dan, it was evident in your voice and your nose 🤧, so fantastic to move into the other side.. CRUISING!!!! yay!
He will have more of the same with the amount of building dust and sawdust he breathes in. One day he will decide maybe he should wear a mask for dirty work.
❤❤❤hope you are feeling better
Allergery season has sprung at our house already, snuffy noses all around.
So good to see you and hear about your plans. And great to see Nick there too😊
Good to see Dan 2 make an appearance.Lovely seeing the sun shining on the chateau again.Well done guys.
Dude, get well soon, do not take a cold on the easy peasy shoulder! Take it serious before you get really sick❤
You
Were missed
We see such how hard
Your work is
But it shows
Lots of hugs
Especially 🐶❤️🐶❤️
You could not have a better person helping with the beams than Nick. Not only is he an expert with all the equipment, but he has a built in understanding of how to manoeuvre large, heavy objects like those beams in a safe efficient way! The two of you work well together like synchronized cogs. Now that the weather is clearing up, it would be a godsend to get all those beams in place while you have help!❤
I am so amazed on how much they get done in a Day!!! Keep up the great Work!❤ 🎉
"...buy another ruin .. by Christmas... "
I ❤️ the optimism of this man!
Dan - Whether you do (buy another ruin) or not, and regardless of your progress (at Christmas), I want to thank you and your family, friends, and supporters enough for sharing this journey ... this channel has lightened my heart and given me hope that is difficult to explain or express.
🕊✌️🦋
Honestly though I cannot wait until you are living in the Château sitting in your front way with furniture and looking up and remembering when you had a tree growing in it. That is going to be so cool.
❤❤❤ Awesome! Plan your work and work your plan. You are amazing!
Love you Dan, and whatever time schedule you choose, We'll be there to catch it !! I am one of your originals from that first day at Stephanie's and never tire of your projects.
I’m an original too and I’ve loved every single vlog 👍
It looks like you have a bad cold Dan🤧. You take care OK, you are doing well so happy Nick is there with you, as you said it will go much quicker. Hope to see you tomorrow 👍love from South Wales UK XX
Nick reminds me of Davros whenever I see him on the mini digger
youand Nick are so inventiv using methods that are so clever to takkle all this heavy stealbeams……always interseting to watch……no limits for you with a clever brain
Right, a crane is so old fashion and slow... The time, SAFEFTY and effort is obviously easier.
😂😅😮
Dan, just to hear you say “Good Morning!” brings me a huge smile! You’re such a pleasure to watch, and I’m so looking forward to seeing the amazing progress!! 🥰💋
You blow my mind with this building. Hope you can accomplish your plan as you hope. Just be careful and don't over do.
Super great! I’m so looking forward to seeing the roof on the whole building. Watching from Houston, Texas.
Great work, once again! Dan is a trooper! Be encouraged. Watching from Colorado. 😊
U can do it Dan, with a lot of help from your friends. May God bless you.❤
I do believe it will be much faster on this side of the chateau. You have more help and more sophisticated tools. Dan…. You have done an amazing job. It first I thought you would be a great grandfather by the time you were done. But it looks like your boys are going to be running around the chateau in no time at all. God bless you and please stay safe. I enjoy watching all your videos. In fact I look forward to them. It’s also amazing how much you have learned. And how much more skillful you have become.
Evening all - number 2 here. Happy Tuesday ETRF fam!
What is it with this race to be first with commenting?

Damn Dan, that sounds like a good plan.
Love how successful your channel has become Dan Been watching you since you were introduced on chateau de lalande as the new Gardner
From "green house" to great house! You've got a twin? Lol!
Good job on the I beams. Bet those are a real stinker to move! You and Nick are stars!
Hey Nick..

So glad to see you. Carry on!
Just loving how much faster it's all seems to be going than last yr. Bravo🎉❤. Can't waitbto see you hit 500k.
Good morning. Good to see you guys again.👍
She is coming along and back to life.❤
Just in this little bit of time it’s hard to believe it looked like that. Trees growing inside and so much debris, you’ve done so much already. I’ve been here since you were working on your home with the ex and haven’t missed an episode yet👍 love the channel Dan 😊.
When Dan doesn't post for a few days, am I the only one who goes back and watch from the beginning just to see what I have missed. Lately I have been keeping track of his different shoes. Love the chateau Dan!
Well done, Dan and Nick.
Outstanding progress 🌟
I've said it before, I'll say it again: in the final decor of that room, it would be awesome to have a large mural of a tree, in homage to how far the place has come.
That would be fantastic!
What about a mural of a wheel barrow?
@@jasonfitzpatrick414 ...and that fantastic "lift" machine.
@jasonfitzpatrick414 In the basement, perhaps...keeping with the whole "ground up" vibe. And-calling all artists- a silhouette of Nick and his digger. That's gotta go in the chateau somewhere!
That subterranean Shop is a THING OF BEAUTY!!! Crack On Man!!!
Watching you two manuever those hella heavy beams around is epic!
I think it would be very interesting to know more about your "helpers", Nick's gotta have a real interesting background and knowing a bit more would undoubtedly be impressive, to say the least.
nice to see you back Dan amazing progress hope your cold clears up soon.
Sounds like you need a break and rest. Pushing through when full of cold, is not a good idea. The work will still be there tomorrow, better to look after your self today.
Nag over... Loving what you have done so far. I miss France more than i thought i would..
Good work , exciting too.
Dan, you’re one of the only chateau vloggers that goes back into your archives to bring us the “remember how it started out” shots, as you talk about what’s going on currently. Can’t thank you enough for that. Just one of many reasons why you have a gazillion views on your channel. But, then there’s Dan, and Nick working smarter, not harder. Watching the two of you come up that idea to move I beams up the front steps…….blows me away. Speaking of being blown away, if that’s a cold you’ve got, hope you’re better soon. Allergy? Good luck with that. Excellent episode. Thanks.
Yay it’s Dan, my daily fix, yippee
Dan, amazing and ingenious. How you get those huge beams around the site is remarkable. Great progress and so much to look forward to.
