The Foruno is a fish finder and shallow water depth finder, the Wesmar Omnicolor Video Sounder is a deep water sonar that uses color changes to indicate different types of objects and seafloor changes telling you if you are over a rocky formation, a soft muddy ground, underwater objects like trees, boulders, etc and gives indication of fish 🐟 schools and their sizes so you know what is going on under the boat as you are doing deep sea fishing 🎣. As always, a fun and very informative video. I have been a professional mariner for 33 years. You are both fun and knowledgeable. Best boat videos on you tube! A big hello from Vancouver Island!!
Furuno FCV582L was a state of the art depth sounder and multiple display fish finder. They don’t make that particular model anymore but it still is a solid unit
I am like SOLD on this boat. My hope is that in 3-5 years when I’m ready to buy something I’ll find one very close to this one. I love the proportion of guest to crew space. I want MORE crew, and LESS guests. 3 owner/guest cabins and 3 crew is perfect!
Why would you want 3 strangers living with you in what amounts, square footage wise, to a smallish house? You end up being the de facto guest, and you have to manage what is essentially a small business. I would never own a boat I couldn't handle single handed. The joy, and the peace, of boating come from independence, solitude, and self-reliance. If you want a crew: charter.
Nobody can do what you both do like you both! Love your videos, you guys have so much chemistry and are a joy to watch and listen to! Much love from Tampa, FL!
A truly beautiful older boat. I love the layout and the woodwork. Once again, wonderful job showcasing this. Oh yeah, stunning view from the crow’s nest but I have a fear of heights so I’m not sure I could ever go up there if I bought this boat!!!
Cheoy Lee made a lot of solid hulls in the 80s. The exchange rates helped them get really competitive. Some people take issue with them being "Chinese" but they moved to Hong Kong in 1936, and really do build a nice boat.
Hello guys, if you do have that $400k cash, just remember to check with the marina if they allow for live-aboard and also the monthly cost to have the yacht there, plus all other fees - which are a usually extremely expensive for a boat that size.
Wow. This is a fantastic layout!! Honestly, if someone wanted to upgrade in any way to bring this pretty close to a more modern spec, there is not a whole lot needed to get to a level quite close to perfect. What a beautiful vessel to use as a live aboard!! Love the crows nest controls!! How cool is THAT!!?? This is literally a ready built home that would feel comfortable right on move in, right?? The only things to seriously consider would be the cost of operating this monster. But if you want to live on an actual yacht and not just a cramped boat you could easily save a…..”boat load” of money, lol that would easily cut deeply into the cost of actual purchase of what would be a multi million dollar vessel to get similar accommodation in a newer version. Really nice.
Cost to operate usually is 10 to 15% of cost per year. However that's a new boat estimate. With an over 4k gallon fuel tank you can estimate cost to fuel easy. Maintenance can be a crap shoot. Considering it's got over 2k NM range it's not too bad. Efficiency isn't built in for an old boat. Fuel back then was way cheaper.
What an awesome boat. Almost 39 years old, and looks almost new. Love the overall layout, not much would really need changing, mainly just personal preferences etc., but what a steal at $400k. Nice range on it too, great if you ever fancied a longer trip. The next owner is going to enjoy it for sure.
@@utubewillyman I think the price is fair because these old huge boats work on the same principle as ink jet printers. Low cost of entry, insane upkeep.
Sure, with a boat like this, with a crew, you have to plan on spending something like $100,000 - $200,000/year. If I understand it correctly, the rule of thumb is 10% of the ORIGINAL purchase price/value per year.
@@barrysaiff8475 fair enough on the associated costs, but you'd also have similar costs on a new boat, except you'll have paid a few more millions of dollars up front for it, and how many years of ownership & enjoyment of this vessel would one get before they eventually caught up in terms of overall costs, including the considerable loss that almost all new vehicles have the moment they leave the dealership etc? I'd wager it would be at least 8-10 years, likely more, and by then one might be considering one's next boat. Then there's the possibility that whomever buys it, actually wants an older vessel like this, because they prefer it's style etc., much like with older cars & motorcycles. If one has the 'spare' money to do any of this, I hope they enjoy it. Someone might even buy it just as a nice place to live, which again is likely a heck of a lot cheaper than most waterfront properties.
This is perfect evidence of how much we value new and shiny things. What would a comparable 90 footer built in the last 5 years cost? You two are a stellar couple by the way. A solid woman and a man who deserves it. If ever one of my friends seems jaded I’ll just tell them to watch you guys. To help restore some faith. If you ever come across more gems like this please let us see it as most of us are probably more able to get something like this and it’s depressing to see the 30 footers with no space sometimes haha. 💙
This is, by far, my favorite of all the videos you’ve put out so far. Absolutely gorgeous vessel loaded with class and character, and just an overall quality machine. I’d be very curious to understand the maintenance cost of a vessel like this. To buy it is one thing, but to maintain it… well, I suspect that’s what might turn some prospective buyers away. For those of us who are new to the nautical life, it would be extraordinary if you guys could discuss maintenance costs on some of the vessels featured in your “affordable liveaboard” videos. Cheers and best wishes.
I just found your channel. Wonderful tour of a classic boat! I love the engine room and main bridge. The crow's nest is great, but that radar is a bit too low for me, I'd move it up about 2 feet higher...all that RF energy so close to my head brings up memories from my submarine days: "Attention, there are men working in the sail, do not rotate or radiate from any mast or antenna, there are men working in the sail!".
Wow. This is a fantastic layout!! Honestly, if someone wanted to upgrade in any way to bring this pretty close to a more modern spec, there is not a whole lot needed to get to a level quite close to perfect.
This is a nice boat. Old, but a really nice live aboard boat. I would add more refrigerator storage including freezers, but for the money this is an excellent buy and has a lot of potential.
If I could afford this yacht, I'd keep it like it is with the exception of the dining room, but I absolutely love the look of old meets new, and I would put in an 8 seater dining table with a tiered chandelier above
@@Burevestnik9M730 : No, not necessarily. If you buy a boat like this and you have no license, you must hire a licensed Capt. until you do, in order to move it.

@@gabrielvidotti pois agora né... mas acho que com a tributação não vale a pena não... ainda mais com a citação do dólar...
Good morning from Sacramento ☺️
I really love the positive energy that you create with your videos. So very refreshing! Thank you guys. Love your hair Victoria. 🌹🥰
😍🙏🏻💙
Love this one! More older yachts please!
This yacht is magnificent ! I think this is the most boat for the money. It's not all glamor and glitz, however if is very nice. The amount of living space is incredible. I'm also impressed with crew quarters. If you are using this boat to travel, and why wouldn't you, you will need a crew. A happy, comfortable crew will make life easier for everyone. If you travel, this area xwill be their home too. This yacht has class. I would love to live aboard this yacht. I could go on and on, after 40 yrs,my wife will testify to that. Love your channel. Your on line tours are thorough and well thought out. You make a fine couple and are great hosts. I have been a subscriber for a long time. I'm confined to a bed and both of you help me not to think about for a little while. Keep doing what yo6u do. May God bless both of you. Jerry
Thank you so much for your kind feedback Jerry, it really made our day! 🙏🏻💙
As always, a fun and very informative video. I have been a professional mariner for 33 years. You are both fun and knowledgeable. Best boat videos on you tube! A big hello from Vancouver Island!!
How long would it take for an absolute beginner to learn to operate this thing and be able to travel to Mediterranean on it?
I love the old choey lees. They have beautiful craftsmanship woodwork
Furuno FCV582L was a state of the art depth sounder and multiple display fish finder. They don’t make that particular model anymore but it still is a solid unit
Very similar I'm using on my offshore vessel built in 2014 120m long. This is a very useful piece of equipment for a more advanced users
@@ukaszc7194 120 meters long?!😳
Yep, 120m. It is not a yacht. It is a vessel made to serve in oil@gas industry or windfarms
@@ukaszc7194 gotcha! Safe travels!
Wow guys, this is just a fantastic boat........you always find a very great livable!
I love this series, keep them coming! One day I will leave my landbased life for a life full of salt and sail!
I think this is my favorite boat so far, I thank you two and Aquaholic and Producer Michael for the great mind bending tours
Beautiful boat and love all the natural wood..Vickie you have the nicest hairstyles in every video
Nobody can do what you both do like you both! Love your videos, you guys have so much chemistry and are a joy to watch and listen to! Much love from Tampa, FL!
Oooow thank you so much! That’s very kind 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💙
A truly beautiful older boat. I love the layout and the woodwork. Once again, wonderful job showcasing this. Oh yeah, stunning view from the crow’s nest but I have a fear of heights so I’m not sure I could ever go up there if I bought this boat!!!
well done. thank you. i will binge your channel now that I've found you!
Cheoy Lee made a lot of solid hulls in the 80s. The exchange rates helped them get really competitive. Some people take issue with them being "Chinese" but they moved to Hong Kong in 1936, and really do build a nice boat.
This yacht exceeded my expectations. Great refit and great video.
Hello guys, if you do have that $400k cash, just remember to check with the marina if they allow for live-aboard and also the monthly cost to have the yacht there, plus all other fees - which are a usually extremely expensive for a boat that size.
I really like what they've done with this. Even as a live aboard, think I'd want a crew just to maintain all that. Thanks for bringing it to us.
lol, it need a maintenance crew even if nobody live in so...
First thing I thought of was one of my favorite movies Overboard!
I need staff!!
@@gweger6425 I thought the exact same thing..........
@@pilotgirl5953 😁 that's great. I just watched it again the other night. Seems it's on quite a bit. Always get a good laugh and good message too.
Crew for a $400k boat? Lol
Love the outtakes and your chemistry. Helps this channel remain fun and enjoyable. I have learned so much from you two and your great subscribers.
Oooooow thanks Tony! So nice to hear that!
I totally agree!!!!!! They are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
A beautiful yacht. Very organized and flows nice. My fav so far.
Did a quick rounded calculation. It's over 20k to fill the tank. 😲
For the cost of a newer used Sea Ray half the size.
That's what I was thinking. Am I a sucker for thinking this is worth more than $400k?
Minimum maintenance will be about $150k/yr. parking is going to hurt.
Don't forget crew costs if you plan on taking the ship anywhere. It looks far too big to be handled by a recreational amateur captain.
@@eddievest4096 I don’t think maintenance would be that bad if you don’t run it much. But yes, parking is the big one with a boat like this.
@yo yo if you park out in the water, how much do you think it would cost to run off the generators?
@yo yo you could probably find room for a lot of solar panels on a boat that size!
Thank you for the video! Can you share what the annual regular maintenance cost has been on that boat in recent years? Thank you!
You guys have one of the sweetest jobs ever created.
In the crew area you can see the Cheoy Lee joinerwork that us old timers know and love. I would be turning the radar OFF when up in that crows nest.
That was a great tour. I really enjoyed it. If I had the money, I would buy it and move in. Have a wonderful week.
This one would make an awesome live-aboard, and the price is amazing!
Wow. This is a fantastic layout!! Honestly, if someone wanted to upgrade in any way to bring this pretty close to a more modern spec, there is not a whole lot needed to get to a level quite close to perfect.
This is a very good boat for the money. Well maintained and some nice updates. Thanks for sharing
This boat is truly amazing, great upgrades, really awesome potential.
I LOVE how well maintained she is. And I like shade options
This is a nice boat. Old, but a really nice live aboard boat. I would add more refrigerator storage including freezers, but for the money this is an excellent buy and has a lot of potential.
Wow...this is beautiful. I could totally live aboard this. Love the layout, the design, the decor...perfect.
If I could afford this yacht, I'd keep it like it is with the exception of the dining room, but I absolutely love the look of old meets new, and I would put in an 8 seater dining table with a tiered chandelier above
Gerne mehr von solch zahlbaren Yachten!! Besten dank!
I would absolutely purchase this yacht over a newer model any day! What a gorgeous all around purpose yacht! I'm in love! 😍
How long would it take for an absolute beginner to learn to operate this thing and be able to travel to Mediterranean on it?
@@Burevestnik9M730 : You would have to acquire a Captain's license: about a year.
@@Methoes123 So whoever bought it must have had that license already?
@@Burevestnik9M730 : No, not necessarily. If you buy a boat like this and you have no license, you must hire a licensed Capt. until you do, in order to move it.
Hi Victoria and Rico!!! Wow this is a nice liveaboard. Very roomy but I would make more upgrades. You guys keep up the great work you do. Everytime I watch these I have a smile. You are a lot of fun in these. Until next time signing off Lou from Jersey.
Thank you so much for watching, Glad you’re enjoying our channel
Really classy older model yacht. Well maintained…great size and price.
Best time of the week, when we get to see what you guys show us. Love your work . Great boat 😎
Ooow thanks Sandra! Really appreciate it
What a fantastic liveaboard. You two did a great job showcasing a vessel from days gone by. Keep up the good work and continued sucess ! PS : That is a hell of a bargain !!!
🙏🏻🙏🏻💙 thank youu
So, when I hire Rico to help us find the right boat in a couple years, I'm going to point him back at this video and say "I basically want that boat, but fifteen feet smaller and with just a little more range." 😉 (Don't worry, I don't expect miracles. There's stuff I could do fine without on this one, to bring the size down.)
A lot of boat for the money. Love the analog classics
Wow, This is really a nice yacht ! Not bad for 40 years old. Enjoyed the tour.
New is not better
As always, you two are delightful. I love the way that you work together, very respectfully, and sometimes comically. Your videos are very educational and technical. Thank you both. I enjoy being subscribed. The engine room is huge. This is likely the nicest yacht that i have ever seen. I wish that i could buy it. Stunning. Great tour. Thanks again.
Pat and Vanna.
I'm a sea captain and live aboard, and that folks is a quality boat for the money.
