    a HYPER underrated part of your channel is that every video has a price on the boats. We take it for granted but that little detail allows people to judge the type of product you are presenting easily in a way many youtubers seek to hide

    Nick.... One of your "colleagues" who actually also makes pretty good reviews, had this boat featured a week or so ago, and that video had me intrigued about this boat... I am a huge fan of the Grand Trawler, but this is so cleverly made, and it is your walk through - with all the little clever details and explanations of various options - that really does it. Never stop this channel! I really understand why you have 500K + subs, and you present the - for some - small details, for others the very important, and actually decision making details.... And this boat.... is an evolution in small trawler style boats - the best boats there is....Thank you so much for all your hard work

I really love the way you make us feel like we've just shown up to look at a boat or experience some aspect of boating with you, it's remarkably personal. You have an extremely engaging way of really including your followers in the video. Thanks so much, it's very refreshing, I shall be tuning in regularly now. Cheers from a mate in Australia..

      The sheer amount of bare timber below deck on these is just so crappy and cheap. These are not well built boats

    • @tonybazz53
      @tonybazz53 Месяц назад +1

      @@mz22waBeneteau uses Alpi which is an Italian made engineered hardwood that is extremely stable and durable. The highly esteemed Marriott Hotel in Lima Peru was recently updated using this product. Like Nick mentioned in this video Beneteau has upped its game by integrating the espresso colored foam backed panels on both sides of each door and cream colored panels on the walls as well which breaks up the wood and helps deaden sound. Even though the wood is engineered the cost is in line with solid oak or even teak. It’s far from cheap. The light satin finish gives the interior an open spacious feel and the high density of the engineered Alpi keeps sound from traveling from one room to the other. I can easily understand your opinion of the choices of color and the satin finish, but cheap and crappy it is not.

    Been waiting for this video! Have delivered and instructed on various ST42, ST44, ST52 and the most recent ST48 - the ST Range are some of my favourite consumer-level-market passage makers because of the ability to cruise at displacement and go fast, with a really flatish fuel burn. Brilliant boats all round, great predictability to handle in close quarters marina environments, and comfy on multi-day and overnight displacement speed passage-making. 👍

    • @BoatingMarketPlace
      @BoatingMarketPlace 2 месяца назад +1

      @@sharonbraselton3135 Hi! Yes i think the hull forms have been described as a semi-displacement type, you're absolutely right; what I was referring to as written was travelling at 'displacement speed' and cruising 'at displacement'. These are just terms used to convey that the through-water log speeds being travelled at are not 'planing speeds' or 'on the plane'. The terms 'i'm at displacement' or 'MCD' 'Max Continuous Displacement' are, somewhat colloquial contractions but, are nevertheless, widely understood - in my experience and sector - to denote that 'we are' travelling at a through water log speed slower than that which is required for a particular hull form to be 'on the plane', were it capable. It's also used as a quick way to say 'i'm just slowly cruising st this time' e.g. "hi, yes, we will be there in a few hours, we're just sitting 'at displacement' for a while...". Anyway, in terms of the hull-forms you're right that that's how they are described by the manufacturer! Anyway, i'm just off to correct the grammar in the graffiti in the loos with long explanations written in highlighter pen explaining their mistakes, and why i'm so much fun to talk to at dinner parties...Just kidding...That's only semi-true.

    While not a red wine freak, reds need to be chilled to between 55-65F, depending on the type of red and personal taste. So, some minimal cooling capacity is required. Room temperature is not really room temperature.

Beneteau fitted the Sleipner fins that are also functional at zero speed and when at anchor. They are all electric so no noise at night when you opt for the solar/battery package that you showed. “ The latest Sleipner Vector Gen 3 fins provide excellent stability with 360-degree control”

    Fascinating boat Nick.
    I'm a retired truck mechanic of 50 years.
    I was an apprentice in the late 60s / early 70s and most British trucks were powered by some form of marine engine, Gardner and Perkins come to mind. These old plodders were soon outdated along with British engineering of the day. What followed was the glorious Cummins, Volvo, Scania, Caterpillar, MAN etc.
    These manufacturers still powering trucks and boats to this day.
    Having said all of this one of my favourite engines to work on was the Rolls Royce Eagle diesel a partnership with Perkins. At night the turbo glowed red in the dark... wonderful stuff.
    Keep up the good work.

    As a 71 year old active grandfather this thoughtfully designed vessel hits the mark on absolutely everything. I think the layout is fabulous. That side door off the galley just rocks. Curious about both draft and air draft so the Bimini option might work better for me. I suppose multiple days at anchor would make the solar option most useful. I wonder how many hours of run time you could get just sitting in the sun all day. I would opt for the gas cooker in order to possibly not run the generator as often. Love the heating and ventilating system. The quick access lazarette is pure genius especially with the clever davit system . The 1.2 million seems very reasonable for a boat with such high spec with tons of real estate and very livable accommodations not to mention the performance. I didn’t see any stabilization which is a pricey option or a water maker. I could tell by Nick’s enthusiasm that he is quite taken with everything this pocket explorer yacht has to offer. Thank you Nick for exhibiting the same passion while touring this gem as a super yacht.

You said there are 2 more 'roof' options for the flybridge, and I can't help thinking a hardtop that dropped back and down for low bridges, and covering most things when not in use would really set a high mark in most peoples check list, as it could still be totally covered with solar panels.Maybe hull 3. :) Cheers Nick, and friends.

    as always you're a genius and most appreciated ! My first boating experience as a youth was a Burger 72, and then a Grand Banks 50. Needless to say, trawlers have always interested me. Mind you, Sunseeker and others are amazing - but Beneteu has always been true to the Swift brand. I think this new 54 is their best statement ever of that. Everything about it is thoughtful to the level of boats up to twice the price. But the details. You can see in the hatch fittings, wire wraps and many other things that go unseen, how they have matured so much over earlier models. For me, while I love fancy stuff, Swift is grounded and down to earth. I feel comfortable in my shorts and classic T from an 80's concert. Thanks again!!!

(For those that could afford it) Plenty big enough for a couple to live aboard but not too big to handle. Room for family to come stay for a while. Wake up to a different view each morning if you felt like it.

    While the term "idyllic" refers to a time or place of pleasing perfection - the name Beneteau Swift Trawler 54 should be added. With a central galley and four dinning areas there is a separate longe that needs no "converting" for dinning. Three generous staterooms each with heads access. The inside route to the fly brige / outdoor cooking and dining areas is very clever. Aft facing rear seating is wonderful. Nothing but "idyllic" stem to stern, Thanks, Nick.

    Great one, very much a practical pseudo live aboard boat with tonnes of space and still sleeping for six. The one who invented the trash compartment deserves a raise for sure, very clever. Plus the greener a boat can get the better, no need for gas on board. 👌💎👌

    Fascinating boat, very innovative features. About all i could add on a wishlist would be a helm side door to the dock, to help with lines etc.
    Agree with you that Beneteau Group has upped their quality spec. Seen that also in the Wellcraft 435 etc 👍

    Nick: you knew this would be my tass de te. No stupid rear galley with lift up window/door if your passage making. It's not ment to be a marina queen. Solar silent power too when needed too. The price is so reasonable and allows for updates to a more robust interior woodwork etc. The easy load lazarette is spot on, just like when a hatchback revolutionised cars. I'm getting moist about this one Nick, Cheers DougT

    I enjoyed that right up to the floor squeal outside of the master ensuite. That, to me, sounds just like fingernails on a chalkboard. Not what I anticipated hearing from a Beneteau. Hopefully hull 2 and beyond doesn't squeak. Thanks Nick !
