"You're a sausage, that's all you are, a sausage" made me really smile, because that's what my Son would say to his now gone, and much missed Border Collie. He was daft as a brush, but he loved us fiercely, and we loved him right back for it.
So sorry for your loss, especially border collie such smart dogs I've had both Australian shepherd & border collies, still hurts even after ten years of losing my Australian shepherd, best wishes to you from Sacramento, California
Having had a BC myself I can attest to mourning her loss to this very day, a full 15 years ago. 15 years of the Best Pal Ever.
I have one too but he’s supposed to be a weiner!🤣🤣🤣
First puppy should now be named Sausage!
@@VangoghsDoggo ok, we've got Noggin, DaBree & Sausage
Moving at a pace now. Thank you for a glimpse of Elsa's little noggins, she seems to have taken to motherhood well.
Ailsa's puppies what a surprise!
Ah, a video, a Nick t-shirt, lots of hard graft and mum with puppies. All is good. ❤❤❤
DAN WE NEED A QUICK TOUR OF WHAT’S BLOOMING IN THE GARDENS!
Nothing with all trash he buried there.
Things aren't supposed to grow in a car park😮
@@marshawargo7238 I said gardens did you miss that!
That would be Nick giving the tour as he is the horticulturist! (tree hugger) lol
@@marshawargo7238 Of course they are!!! Have you never seen a round-about?
Loving seeing the rhododendrons in flower…a gorgeous hint of what’s to come in the parkland surrounding the chateau. 👌
Gosh! I love ‘Nick the Tree Surgeons & Master Digger’ Digger Price List Shirt is hilarious 🤣 plus also made sense. The pups 🐶 are adorable. Bravo Elsa!🥰🥰🥰
That T-shirt would go over well where I live, every second home houses a retired heavy-duty mining equipment operator. No shortage of skid steers & backhoes in my neighbourhood 😅
Guess we now know that Dan pays him $200/hr😂
He's a decent guy
@@user-pd2rw3dz3n From what I can tell, they don't come much better than Nick.
Gosh, only 6K away from half a million subscribers, what an achievement for our Dan.
If you've not already subscribed, why not, it costs nothing and means a lot to Dan's channel and RUclips algorithms.

Don't you mean Pupdates?

Even the smallest changes make a big difference. It’s clear that Dan is the man with a plan - onward warp speed ⚡️🚀
Make it so number one
Your work ethic is so inspiring to me, the fact that you can pump these videos out every day and they still maintain such a high level of quality, whilst also (just a small thing) building a literal castle
Still seeing the trees growing out of the top of the chateau makes me smile. Little does it know what’s in store. Dan has had such a vision. When I first saw Dan driving up to this ruin of a burnt out hull of a chateau, I thought No Way! However knowing Dan from Stephanie’s channel, I had confidence in him. That feeling has now grown to great respect for a man with a vision. Thank you Dan .
Palpable momentum and anticipation! So much fun to watch Dan and crew save an old structure.
Well, granpaw, you've got a lot to be proud of. The progress is showing all over the place. But, to top it all off, your granpups are adorable.
Thank you. ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉🎉❤🎉😊
LOVE Nick’s T-shirt 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The puppies are beautiful 😁
The balustrades Dan smashed down today were the ones built for the new tenants (the Jewish community) when they rented the nearly uninhabitable chateau in the 1930ies to convert it to a home for Jewish orphans.
The former owner, who built it together with her Russian lover was in the end so impoverished, that she sold all the expensive bannisters and probably most of the furniture too.
Judging by the pictures from the 40s I suspect they were built even later, either for the kids camps after the war or even by Mironnet. It seems more likely to me that the original balusters were cast concrete (like the ones Dan removed from the landing window a few videos ago) and of poor quality so they collapsed after only a few decades.
I remember the first episode. Really thought you wouldn't be able to do it, the challenge just seemed too big. It's unbelievable what you have achieved. I'm enjoying watching you bringing the building back to life. You make such surprising decisions and make it all work so well. Amazing job. I wish you the best of luck.
Thank you Dan for the snippet of Elsa and the puppies! Great work done today!
Good morning Team Dan ❤
Did I spy in the makings of a cool looking bug hotel/house ?😊
The last pile of doom is going 🙌🫶fantastic job guys …
Thanks for the little glimpse into the world of puppy cuteness ❤❤
See you tomorrow 😊
Yeah, that's a nice looking bug hotel.
I saw that too.
This is like reading a really gripping book, slowing down the reading coz you don't want to get to the end, yet at the same time, you can't wait to know the outcome..
Yep
Nice work, this winter and spring has been the worst with all the rain but you kept on going! Bravo! 😁👌
With all the love and attention the chateau is getting it’s going to look the mutts nuts when it’s finished, love and respect to all and stay safe Dan and the lads 😊
Love the Puppy Cam.... Everything is moving so quickly with the Chateau.
I am so excited to see how this all works out because every step you make... Is so massive! Thank you for including the puppy update, I've been wondering how those little nuggets are doing!
Nuggets? Given this channel I think it's more appropriate to call them little noggins ❤
Don’t you mean little noggins? 🐶
@@shizukaakatatsu22 I don't know how an earth I missed it but you couldn't be more right!
@@msatoz76 I completely miss that opportunity but I'm glad that you got it!
I have no idea why I watch these, but I’m following and subscribing. Maybe it is Dan’s smiling optimism, or perhaps the segments are short enough I have no fear of wasted time if the episode is mediocre, or perhaps it is because Dan’s shows are regularly posted, and maybe it is because he doesn’t waste 12 minutes at the beginning of the episode video taping his face talking to us in his car driving to the site and talking about what we are going to see. Maybe it is all of those together. ❤❤❤
love that insect hotel on the parking spot
It is amazing what three men and proper machinery and tools can accomplish in a day! Love seeing Elsa and her pups. Thanks Dan.🙏❤️
Who's the third guy?
Brian
Yay, you showed us the puppies again❤
Dan you almost got me excited watching you tear down that concrete wall. Oh the muscles and shear strength....I almost felt faint. It's looking great guys! Now, we want regular updates on the babies.
nothing better than a british gardener quoting an american movie about a greek army while rebuilding a french chateau
Concrete does not "dry", it hardens. And it takes at least 1 or 2 weeks before it is really cured enough to bear a load reliably...

@@escapetoruralfrance I sent it. Thanks!
A copy for Dan would be much appreciated, I’m sure!
❤❤❤❤ Puppies so beautiful!!!!
Dan, you were talking about recycling the waste metals. With the history of the house, it would be great if you could get an ornamental metal worker to make lots of metal children playing around the grounds.
Interesting Idea!!
Lovely to end with a view of the pups 😍
So glad you have all these extra capable hands helping out. I love seeing the floors go in, but am excited to see you get back to bricking and repointing the walls once that's done
you know concrete actually needs 28 days to have its maximum strength?
love the "you are a sausage-part" 😀
Seeing the pups just brought back memories of when my lovely Labrador gave birth to 10 beautiful puppies. What did surprise me was the amount of noise they make when feeding from mum !
All of u guys are really pushing foward fast. Great job. Stay safe

We know Nick, Cameron when he comes, but who are your other helpers, Dan? And was there a wall there originally where you just did the foundation?
I always do.
@@suewilson1801Yes there was a wall. It had to come down to make way for more stability. There are more floors to hold up.
@@suewilson1801 The name of the other guy is Brian, I think Dan knows him from Lalande. No, there was no wall there before, just a column in the middle of the room that they took down.

Adorable to see the wee pups!
You've got a great master plan Dan. What an awesome team you have. :)
Aw….the puppies are so cute! Thanks for the clip. Cannot wait to see the gravel down!
So nice how you have used the rubbish as the base for the parkway. Good way to get rid of it. So nice to follow your progress of the restoration/build of the sad Chateau. I'm liking how you are recreating the outside as much as the inside of the Chateau Dan. The grounds are already looking lovely. All the best to you. I hope you can restore the door Dan. So old. Love his shirt!!! The puppies are amazing and so pretty!!!
What I enjoy about your channel is that you are always working. On some they film while others do most of the work. You may look a lean young man but it has to be muscle, just look after yourself, eyes ears and hands, your loved ones want you around for a long time yet. Well done to you and all the crew.
I'm watching from Albany, Georgia USA. Even from here, I can hear the heartbeat of the château beating! ❤️❤️ also more puppies!
Sacramento, CA here
Rural Oklahoma, USA. here. Watching and loving it , every video.
Wowzer you guys are moving fast ❤
Hi Dan , I don't know if you know this but the steel your scrapping is quite valuable, because it's pre atomic steel. They use that steel in detection devices , so keep it and make some inquiries.
Do you mean the radiators?
@@lindafleming3907 The radiators are cast iron, not steel I assume. The various beams are steel though and Dan mentioned they will be sold to the scrap man.
Thanks for including the puppies at the end. They are frickin adorable! You guys must be exhausted at the end of every day. I'm tired just watching you all.
I love the dog and her puppies!
Great work, video, and progress!

Things are moving along at a good speed. The garden is starting bloom. I really liked the shirt price list, just wonder where you fit in the list LOL ... All the Puppies are adorable, she is a good mom to her babies. You have everything here in this video that makes me want to keep coming back for more.
It looks like you are making a bee, bug hotel near the car park! You are so cool to think of them. The gardens are beautiful! Love the puppies 🐶

Adorable pups! I envision the day when you're all done, comfortably living in the chateau, when some naïve visitor asks, "Did you have to do much to it?"

It's coming along great Dan, wish your blog were a few minutes more, so I injoy whatching, have you got a cold again Dan?? Thats you working in the rain getting wet🤧. Those puppies are gorgeous🐶. You take care so glad you have great friends helping now. Moving fast 👍👍. Love from South Wales UK XXX
Lots of old plumbing! Maybe consider something like PEX for the new plumbing. It's flexible, fast, color coded, easy to manifold and freeze resistant. It probably doesn't get cold enough but still good to consider a drainable system that's sloped with that in mind. Having strategic isolation valves are handy in such a big structure as well.
PEX isn't that common in Europe (and it's never good to use something that you can't easily get parts for to extend or repair it), I'd suggest multi-layer pipe (PEX - aluminium - PEX), which is extremely common and easy to use. The fittings are expensive though, if you've got someone who can solder copper that might be cheaper even if the pipe is a lot more expensive.
@@Ragnar8504 good to know. Ductile copper can often be routed through the strange spots and regular for the rest. The key in these buildings is having the chase somewhere to get utilities through and be able to hide them a bit.
@@LarsDennert Multicouche (the French name for that sandwich pipe) is even more flexible than ductile copper. Should be pretty easy to install.
I don’t think I have ever been excited so much for the development of a car park before
Massive progress. I hope you reflect on all that you have done, Dan. So proud of you and the team. ❤
