"Can You Get Me Off Camera Before I Call The Police"

  • I was documenting from the public sidewalk recently outside this Starbucks location & just next door to it was A Chick-Fil-A, I began outside the coffee house checking out the drive thru line. I got mixed reaction from customers who took notice of my presence. One woman after exiting the line, stopped along the street & threatened to call police if I didn't get her off my cameras, she quickly drove off. Police did show up about 15-20 mins after the encounter with "Karen" . He was cordial & professional & acknowledged my right to record in public although he felt the need to inform me that someone had called because of my documenting...guessing it was the "Karen" in the car. Before wrapping things up , an individual approached me on the sidewalk to express his support for public photography & 1A Auditors. Another woman in the drive thru line was friendly & even gave a shout out to her church .

The date you're looking for is September 11th 2001. You may go back a little to Feb 9th 1950. That was the day Joe "Tail-Gunner" MacCarthy started his red scare campaign with his infamous list of 205 names. You see, America has always been fearful, you just didn't notice. Tho 9/11 showed America that actions have consequences and having an ocean between you and the guys you raped does not guarantee your safety any more. Yes, you can reach them in their homes, but so they can reach you in yours. This shook the bedrock of the selfimage of America. "We can bomb you into oblivion and you can't do shit about it." Turns out they can. And that scares the shit out Americans. Being held accountable for their actions and having them publicized. Tho this is just someone getting a morning coffe, not committing a warcrime on camera. The most this lady can be is late for work, not a murderer. So this is some deviation from her morning routine and an inconvenience at most. If she did nothing wrong she has nothing to fear, not even her boss. So why bother i ask?

Kudos to FAR. This auditor channel doesn't blare super loud music at the beginning of every video or play a long music intro...he understands people watch auditor videos for the CONTENT of the videos, the encounter, the challenges, the debates, the schooling of ignorant people, govt types getting shut down and looking like idiots for reacting like Karens/Darens over a camera in public and whether or not RIGHTS were upheld and protected or violated. It is simple really, and it's exactly how and why Sean at Long Island Audit grew to 500,000 Subscribers in under 3 years not knowing anything when he started...he figured out the formula for a successful auditor channel.

I wonder if the first woman would've reacted positively if you told her exactly what you were doing like you told the last 2 people. I think often it is the feeling of not knowing what is going on that makes people antagonistic, even if it is none of their business. It's sad that some people have a strong tendency to feel negatively about everything they are unable to comprehend.
