You can film in public they didn't violate anyone's rights , precived fear was the only thing here & the very fact that they were invited in showed that only those woth these precieved unwarranted fears and those who were just plain nasty probably because they just don't want to be on camera and they are anyway by the state as cameras are everywhere created a exclated situation, no one violated anyone's rights here. Would it cause you to pause and rethink what you might say to someone you’re recording? Maybe, but you’re still ultimately responsible for words and actions. It’s not unusual to act differently in front of different people, and/or in different settings, but we do so under our own volition.

Remember gay people (especially older gay people) have had to put up with a lot of shit for being gay over their life and so they may be a little more defensive if they think someone's trying to start shit with them. If the guy recording was clear what auditing is right from the start, I think things would have de-escalated. But -- and let's be real here -- most auditors are deliberately evasive because they want to provoke the kind of reactions they generally get. I attend an LGBT friendly church. We've had protesters and always just ignore them. We know they have a right to free speech on a public sidewalk, but have not had them try to enter our property. When your in the public you can be video taped in most settings, nobody likes it until they see it helps review crime, people are nervous about their orientations being revealed as they keep them private which is their right but no one's right were violated if infact they don't want to be filmed then they should invest in a larger parking g lot and a big fence when you are in a public place like the side walk the right to privacy is checked

Would it cause you to pause and rethink what you might say to someone you’re recording? Maybe, but you’re still ultimately responsible for words and actions. It’s not unusual to act differently in front of different people, and/or in different settings, but we do so under our own volition.
The church looks like Fort Knox with all of the security cameras set up around the perimeter. Apparently the church has no problem filming the public walking by.

Very good to inform everyone that everyone is recorded many times each day by dash cams, stop light cams and virtually every business you pull into walk or drive by. Remember gay people (especially older gay people) have had to put up with a lot of shit for being gay over their life and so they may be a little more defensive if they think someone's trying to start shit with them. If the guy recording was clear what auditing is right from the start, I think things would have de-escalated. But -- and let's be real here -- most auditors are deliberately evasive because they want to provoke the kind of reactions they generally get. I attend an LGBT friendly church. We've had protesters and always just ignore them. We know they have a right to free speech on a public sidewalk, but have not had them try to enter our property.
