People nowadays have the power of the Internet, the greatest store of information in the World, literally in their pockets and yet half the population still thinks it’s illegal to film in public or people without their permission. I find that absolutely bonkers!
What I'm curious about is how the notion of it being illegal got so pervasive. Sometimes I think people don't really think it's illegal but say it anyway in hopes that you'll stop filming.

The inherent dichotomy people seem to feel between public photography (free press) and freedom of religion is what makes these church 1A audits THE BEST. It exposes the lack of proper education in this country - especially the education regarding the PURPOSE our founding fathers had in creating this country. Not many people, including church goers and police, seen in ANY 1A audit can name OUR original Bill of Rights but even fewer could articulate the reason why these Amendments were so important to our founders. When we see almost all offended church goers complain about public photography we need MORE immediate attention to the fact that it is the VERY SAME enumerated right that ensures that church goers can worship freely without government interference or oversight (Freedom of Religion) AND that citizens can engage in public photography without interference from the government (Freedom of the Press). The fact that both are covered under the very same amendment adds even further irony to those that immediately claim, “That’s against the law without MY permission” or “I’m going to call the police!” Chris did a great job here, as she usually does, reminding the church goer that both rights are covered under the same amendment. It’s certainly ironic and it exposes just how ignorant most people are regarding their own rights in this country.

I had a friend that was upset that some young people in her church were not wearing dress clothes and instead were in shrirts and jeans. I asked her which commandment or bible cerse established dress codes, and why she was judging someone based on their clothes. This didn't make her happy. I asked her if god judged someone on their clothes or the content of their heart. I did start this by saying I HAD a friend right?
When someone tells another person to get a life, I see pure red. I am sick to death with people's opinions on what others are doing. I live by a strict code of "Mind you own damn business." I encourage others to follow the same code.
When someone tells an auditor "get a life", they probably mean "get a job" (the second most used insult thrown at 1AAs). That is a common insult for people who have a producerist life view (people are only worthwhile for the money they make). If you can get them to have a conversation, you can explain that many people do things without pay, just for the good of the community. The good thing 1AA camera people do is teaching about the 1st amendment.
I wish I could count all the photos I have of my childhood church. All the weddings, processions, baptisms, funerals, people standing on the church steps, people praying inside the church, the flowers on the altar, the choir, the organist. What has changed in people that causes such insanity and need to control, control, control others? Religion clearly hasn't helped. If anything, it's given some bizarre notions of entitlement and authority to some very disturbed individuals.
The insecurity & the entitlement when theres no expectation of privacy in public, is manifold and near to unbelievable. This may sound harsh but somethin I've learned over the years is when someone is full of demons; they hate being exposed in any capacity; dont like being filmed ever!

I didn’t grow up in church bc my dad did. His dad was a Penecostal minister and a child abuser. My dad told of falling asleep in church twice a week. I did decided to go to church when I was around 16…was told me that I was a horrible sinner just bc I was a human and I needed the church so I don’t go to hell. Sunlight coming through the window being down on me and made me feel sick. I decided to stop going and I’ve never look back. Spirituality is the way to go one on one with God in nature.

While auditors often generate hostility, the reality is that the hostility is coming from the other people. If they just went on their way, everyone would have a better day.

I’m a proud Anglican and I believe that I follow the tenets, rules and teachings of our LORD! At my church I was a lay reader and usher. Then about a year ago as our service was beginning, a new couple of young adults came in to see if our service was what they needed. Now I was ushering and didn’t exactly see what was going on, but the Head Usher nearly jumped over two pews to get to this young lady that had brought a bottle of water and put it next to her to herself. I mean this guy didn’t know what was going on he just wanted that bottle gone!!! As a small chapel our church needed to spread the very Word of God to as many people as we could!!! As an usher I had to on several occasions tell gentleman to remove their hats for the service, which was crazy to me because the “Children of God” all had Yamikas on inside 9:32 TEMPLE !!!!
If you can tell a Nun, that the reason why you’re recording is “Nun” of her business , then I can say to you that the parishioners are starting to Flock into the church for the 11am service, to get the “flock” away from your camera. 😂. 12:21. I didn’t grow up in church bc my dad did. His dad was a Penecostal minister and a child abuser. My dad told of falling asleep in church twice a week. I did decided to go to church when I was around 16…was told me that I was a horrible sinner just bc I was a human and I needed the church so I don’t go to hell. Sunlight coming through the window being down on me and made me feel sick. I decided to stop going and I’ve never look back. Spirituality is the way to go one on one with God in nature.

I just can't get over how you attract the nutcases from these churches and I'm not being insulting or insensitive to nutcases. But there's something about you that they are drawn to. I know you identify as how you feel you are that's fine and you dress accordingly to the gender you identify as. But is it that what draws these people to you? I’m a proud Anglican and I believe that I follow the tenets, rules and teachings of our LORD!
At my church I was a lay reader and usher. Then about a year ago as our service was beginning, a new couple of young adults came in to see if our service was what they needed.
Now I was ushering and didn’t exactly see what was going on, but the Head Usher nearly jumped over two pews to get to this young lady that had brought a bottle of water and put it next to her to herself.
I mean this guy didn’t know what was going on he just wanted that bottle gone!!!
As a small chapel our church needed to spread the very Word of God to as many people as we could!!! As an usher I had to on several occasions tell gentleman to remove their hats for the service, which was crazy to me because the “Children of God” all had Yamikas on inside 9:32 TEMPLE !!!!
If you can tell a Nun, that the reason why you’re recording is “Nun” of her business , then I can say to you that the parishioners are starting to Flock into the church for the 11am service, to get the “flock” away from your camera. 😂. 12:21. Yes, they actually believe that a bit of flat bread and some cheap wine become parts of the body and blood of Jesus Christ himself when a priest says magic words over them. They also believe that swallowing pieces of Christ's re-created dead body will help them get to heaven. (They tried to raise me Catholic, but I asked too many questions.)

The lady is obviously misapplying habeus corpus. Freedom of the press and habeus corpus are basic rights/freedoms under the constitution. Restricting photography is a restriction on those rights. She is using a contradictory argument.
