in 1983 i was a teenager on a plane on my way to Hawaii for vacation and was seated next to someone who got sick everywhere so they moved me away from my family who was in seats near me and put me in first class. they sat me next to Steve Miller as in, The Steve Miller Band... songs like Space Cowboy and Fly Like An Eagle.. that guy. he had a backgammon set with him and we played backgammon. he was super nice. haven't thought about that in a lot of years.

I think OP from the second story needs some therapy and healing. It seems like they have a desperation to have and keep friends. They need to learn to love themselves and be okay even if others decide not to be friends with them. Having said that, I do think that was kind of a bit dramatic reaction to a joke. I mean.. I get it. But at the same time, I don’t. It sounds like the friend was either looking for a reason to drop OP or they too need some healing. It’s possible OP has a past of doing insensitive things towards friend but has been completely oblivious to the fact. So this “joke” tipped them over the edge. I was at the peoples choice awards one year, 4th row(my ex got tickets from doing a movie shoot with chris brown) we met, sat with and talked to a handful of celebs including Johnny Depp, Leonardo Dicaprio and Brad Pitt. However, we also met justin timberlake. He however was not pleasant, and we told his security that after he went to his car, they agreed.

Would you like your idol calling you that? My kids got to Walk around the Waikiki Aquarium with Hayden Panettiere and Justin Long. They just asked we not take pictures. They were so sweet engaging with my son (he was 5 at the time) while he named all the fish. It was an awesome time.

We went on the Impractical Jokers cruise in January, and Steve-O was a headliner there. I was so impressed with how nice he was to everyone. We saw him at the buffet day 1, but we didn't want to bother him. It feels so weird to talk to a celebrity because you know a lot about them, but they know nothing about you. Anyhow, a lot of other people went up to him, and he was so accommodating. He took pics, signed autographs, and talked to a bunch of people. His performances were also fantastic. He was great with the crowd and the people he brought on stage. I can't say enough good things about him. I also got to meet Penn and Teller. I took a pic with Penn after a show and got to go on stage with Teller at a different show. They always stand outside the theater after their shows to interact with fans, which is super cool.
I have met many rock and metal bands. My most special moments were meeting Ronnie James Dio on 2 occasions after concerts. He was a wonderful man and I feel so lucky to have just a few minutes to chat with him. I love him so much I tattooed his autograph on my ankle. Sophia should listen to his music too Dio was an exceptional singer.
A few (or like 10) years ago my mom got Mike Dinka’s autograph, she saw him at the airport and recognized him by the way he chews his gum (if you know, you know I guess🤷🏼♀️). She said he was nice, she got his autograph for us not as a Bears fan but as a “my kids really like the movie Kicking and Screaming and thought you were funny in it.” He signed it Juice Boox Boy like he’s called in the movie 😂😂

Once, some friends and I went to the airport in Houston to pick up a friend that was coming home for summer break. It was arriving in the middle of the night and we ran into skipper (Allen Hale) from Gilligans island. We sat and talked with him untill he borded his flight. The airport was practicly empty at the time. We all were laughing and having a fun time. He was q really nice man and was sad when we heard about his passing. We all got together a few days later and had a drink in his honor. It was so nice that someone we watched on tv and was a big part of our childhood turned out to be such a nice guy that he sat there and talked to 4 college kids when he didnt have to.
Fun fact, I had Gilbert Godfrey do a video for one of my husband's birthdays roasting him about his manhood since I was pregnant with a surprise fourth baby at the time and he was deployed. We're so old, but he loved it. It was totally random and he was f****** brutal. 😂😂

Hey ok op! I have a story time. Its kinda traumatic but im thinking about sharing, idk if people would want to hear it. But this summer, i got hired by a cult unknowingly and they wouldnt let me leave. There were hidden cameras, forced religious lectures on the staff, etc. i shake a bit even talking about it but i think the world should know.
Most of the celebrities I've met were band members before or after shows, but the celebrities that stand out the most are Michael Stevens of VSauce and Adam Savage from Mythbusters. They had a touring show a few years back called Brain Candy, and my wife and I got the super special chocolatey VIP passes. We got to meet them, take pictures, and since we happened to be at the end of the meet and greet line, we were able to have a nice little 5 minute convo with them. Amazingly friendly, humble, and insightful people, it was an awesome experience.
Sophie and I have a similar story with HS famous. Lol, throughout the years in HS I would make AP subject groups on FB and in those groups we would share assignments/answers/hw etc. At the end of the year I would find a student taking that class next year and pass the group onto them. Word got out and I became very selective with who I let on the group/pass it to just so admin wouldnt take wind of it. This went on for all 4 years of HS. I graduated in 2012 and last time I heard the groups were still being passed down 6 years after i graduated. 😂😂😂
A few years ago I was taking singing lessons and the drummer for the band Kix Jimmy Chalfant was one of the teachers there. We had a nice conversation before my lesson (he wasn’t my teacher). I actually had no idea who he was until my dad told me later. He was absolutely nothing like what you would expect. It was literally like talking to someone on the street. He was so down to earth and kind. I usually get really starstruck whenever I see a celebrity (it hasn’t happened many times, I only ever saw celebrities at the music school since a few of the guys from Kix (including Steve Whiteman) taught there). It never happened with him even after I found out who he was. That’s how down to earth this guy was. One of my best celebrity meets ever.

I met Graham Greene when I was a kid, probably 7 years old. No pictures or Autographs, I had no idea he was famous at that age. He chuckled and patted my head before going his way. Seemed he was having a rough day and seeing two little girls, me and my sister, she's a year older than me, running around and playing with our long dark hair flying behind us seemed to make him happy. So yeah, that is my brief experience with a celebrity. His friend Cardinal was there too but no interaction with her, she was very busy from what I remember.
Not sure they count as celebrities but I met Bowling for Soup except the lead singer. They played in my state at one of our state fairs years ago 2007ish. They played a free show and did autographs and talked to us for free after the show. Lead singer was busy with his young child. I say that shows how much they care about their fans, I’m disappointed I didn’t meet Jaret but I understand and can’t be mad he chose to be with his kid instead of signing autographs. Love that band and hope to see them again when/if they pass through again. Unfortunately I missed out in 2022 when they toured and stopped in my state. It was bad timing on my end (very pregnant and ready to pop lol). Maybe my kiddo will be old enough to see them with me next time they come back 😅.

I know of some youtubers that have worked together and know each other for a couple of years that didnt know their real name (they talked about it in videos) so I dont think is so rare if you work in the media/internet with usernames.

My kids got to Walk around the Waikiki Aquarium with Hayden Panettiere and Justin Long. They just asked we not take pictures. They were so sweet engaging with my son (he was 5 at the time) while he named all the fish. It was an awesome time.

Actually my cishet grandpa has a deadname. He does not go by his bio name and explained what dead names were to me before I learned about the trans community. It made it a lot easier to respect people's names.

I just don’t really see why someone “famous” would message you anonymously but maybe. I will say I wouldn’t think that the anonymous message would do that much damage either. I could see messaging my best friend anonymously posing as someone. Maybe not to that extent, but let’s say for example: “Hey this is Taylor Swift and I just LOVE you!” Or something like that.
To me if I got that I just wouldn’t take it seriously. If they did I’m sure they would not message me anonymously😂😂

We went on the Impractical Jokers cruise in January, and Steve-O was a headliner there. I was so impressed with how nice he was to everyone. We saw him at the buffet day 1, but we didn't want to bother him. It feels so weird to talk to a celebrity because you know a lot about them, but they know nothing about you. Anyhow, a lot of other people went up to him, and he was so accommodating. He took pics, signed autographs, and talked to a bunch of people. His performances were also fantastic. He was great with the crowd and the people he brought on stage. I can't say enough good things about him.
I also got to meet Penn and Teller. I took a pic with Penn after a show and got to go on stage with Teller at a different show. They always stand outside the theater after their shows to interact with fans, which is super cool.
I have met many rock and metal bands. My most special moments were meeting Ronnie James Dio on 2 occasions after concerts. He was a wonderful man and I feel so lucky to have just a few minutes to chat with him. I love him so much I tattooed his autograph on my ankle.
Sophia should listen to his music too Dio was an exceptional singer.
I meet Larry the cable guy at the iowa state fair. He was filming at a crocodile show for his show. This was in the early 2000s.
A few (or like 10) years ago my mom got Mike Dinka’s autograph, she saw him at the airport and recognized him by the way he chews his gum (if you know, you know I guess🤷🏼♀️). She said he was nice, she got his autograph for us not as a Bears fan but as a “my kids really like the movie Kicking and Screaming and thought you were funny in it.” He signed it Juice Boox Boy like he’s called in the movie 😂😂
I had a friend who said years ago when she was walking thru a hotel lobby she heard the guys behind her compliment her butt. When she turned around to get on the elevators it was Dave Chappelle.

I've never met anyone super famous, but I met Dakota Wint at one of the warped tours and he was super nice. My pic with him is my favorite from that day. And I've met all the members of Ghost Town and they were all super chill too.

Once, some friends and I went to the airport in Houston to pick up a friend that was coming home for summer break. It was arriving in the middle of the night and we ran into skipper (Allen Hale) from Gilligans island. We sat and talked with him untill he borded his flight. The airport was practicly empty at the time. We all were laughing and having a fun time. He was q really nice man and was sad when we heard about his passing. We all got together a few days later and had a drink in his honor. It was so nice that someone we watched on tv and was a big part of our childhood turned out to be such a nice guy that he sat there and talked to 4 college kids when he didnt have to.

When I was like 12 or 13, I bumped into Weird Al Yankovic at a Walgreens near the Summerfest grounds where he was performing that night. I was super hyped to see him! He was totally cool and gave me his autograph!

Most of the celebrities I've met were band members before or after shows, but the celebrities that stand out the most are Michael Stevens of VSauce and Adam Savage from Mythbusters. They had a touring show a few years back called Brain Candy, and my wife and I got the super special chocolatey VIP passes. We got to meet them, take pictures, and since we happened to be at the end of the meet and greet line, we were able to have a nice little 5 minute convo with them. Amazingly friendly, humble, and insightful people, it was an awesome experience.

Sophie and I have a similar story with HS famous. Lol, throughout the years in HS I would make AP subject groups on FB and in those groups we would share assignments/answers/hw etc. At the end of the year I would find a student taking that class next year and pass the group onto them. Word got out and I became very selective with who I let on the group/pass it to just so admin wouldnt take wind of it. This went on for all 4 years of HS. I graduated in 2012 and last time I heard the groups were still being passed down 6 years after i graduated. 😂😂😂
A few years ago I was taking singing lessons and the drummer for the band Kix Jimmy Chalfant was one of the teachers there. We had a nice conversation before my lesson (he wasn’t my teacher). I actually had no idea who he was until my dad told me later. He was absolutely nothing like what you would expect. It was literally like talking to someone on the street. He was so down to earth and kind. I usually get really starstruck whenever I see a celebrity (it hasn’t happened many times, I only ever saw celebrities at the music school since a few of the guys from Kix (including Steve Whiteman) taught there). It never happened with him even after I found out who he was. That’s how down to earth this guy was. One of my best celebrity meets ever.

I met Graham Greene when I was a kid, probably 7 years old. No pictures or Autographs, I had no idea he was famous at that age. He chuckled and patted my head before going his way. Seemed he was having a rough day and seeing two little girls, me and my sister, she's a year older than me, running around and playing with our long dark hair flying behind us seemed to make him happy. So yeah, that is my brief experience with a celebrity. His friend Cardinal was there too but no interaction with her, she was very busy from what I remember.
Not sure they count as celebrities but I met Bowling for Soup except the lead singer. They played in my state at one of our state fairs years ago 2007ish. They played a free show and did autographs and talked to us for free after the show. Lead singer was busy with his young child. I say that shows how much they care about their fans, I’m disappointed I didn’t meet Jaret but I understand and can’t be mad he chose to be with his kid instead of signing autographs. Love that band and hope to see them again when/if they pass through again. Unfortunately I missed out in 2022 when they toured and stopped in my state. It was bad timing on my end (very pregnant and ready to pop lol). Maybe my kiddo will be old enough to see them with me next time they come back 😅.
