Justine seriously this video is making me want to learn FCP for real and it’s so fun to see your process. It’s such a chill video and I’m glad you made it!
Perfect timing! Thank you Justine I'm in the middle of a lot of editing and certainly picked up some more useful tips! Your 'iJustine Teaches FCP X' app has been so helpful too 🙂

Hi! I purchased your 'iJustine Teaches Final Cut Pro X' package when I purchased Final Cut a couple years ago. (I've been an editor for over 30 years). I've gotten really good at it in part because of your package. So my question is, will you be doing an updated 'iJustine teaches' video that contains upgraded and hidden features? Would love to see that. I also edit with a magic trackpad. Can you explain the advantages of using the magic mouse like in your video? Thanks for all you do!...🙂
Justine, you’re a lifesaver I had no idea about the arrow up and down shortcuts. I’ve been using J & L this whole time to scroll back through the timeline!
As a recent editor in Final Cut Pro, this is interesting to watch for I wanted to see how Justine edits her videos recently. Final Cut Pro is good and all but the thing I don’t like with it is that it takes too much space with the project cache especially if you have a project in 4K. I’m curious to know how Justine handles them but I have a feeling they have enough space for the entirety of the editing process then just deletes them once the project is done. Anyway, thanks for sharing you editing process Justine! :)
Great shortcuts! I didn't know I could cycle projects with command + [ / ] thanks! I saw another creator mention modify the "Trim start/trim end" hotkeys to simply left & right bracket with no modifier, and this has improved my life. Also, instead of adding keyframes for your audio ducking, use the Range tool: make a range selection, then drag the volume bar up or down, the keyframe fades are created automatically. -AW
Oh I like the range tool, I actually forgot about that. I would always stop using it b/c it'd make the range of the point too close together but I imagine that can be changed.
Editing with the keyboard is much much faster for me. Before going legally blind I used to use the trackpad a lot, but now since it’s pretty tough to see, it just feels slow in comparison to using keyboard shortcuts. Glad that they have some good multi-cam shortcuts as well.
This was super helpful. Packed with great tips. I just learn on the fly sometimes with RUclips's help. Now I've got another tutorial to refer to! Thanks iJ. I'm super confused about multicam. Never used it but I do edit more than 1 camera occasionally. Could you do another one of these on just that feature?
Always keen to see FCPX content but it might be worth doing a 709 or SRGB sense check on your grades, for those on non wide gamut displays. Thanks and all the best.
Thanks Justine, this was a great refresher video, most of the stuff I did know but forgot along the way, but sorta forgot. Now I'll add these back to my editing routine. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you So much Justin for sharing your editing Secrets. I love you and your work so much follow you since 2013 and allot of beautiful moments happenes. Keep it up 🙃🙃💯
Editing to me is the best part It's the final part. Shortcuts are so helpful. Have you used any other Editing software like Premiere, DaVinci Resolve Studio or Avid Media Composer?
Justine! Can we get another tutorial? Maybe a class? I watched your first class and that’s what got me started but i feel like I’ve hit a wall. This was so helpful thank you!
Nice video Justine! Instead of making all the audio keyframes, select a range with the "R" and then you can raise and lower it like that... :) Would love to see a video with your export settings for Compressor...
How did you find out about stuff like markers? Do you want to use a mouse with shortcut buttons and an additional horizontal thumb scroll wheel? Like Logitech MX Master 3
Thanks so much Justin for taking the time out to share this. I use a good number of the short cuts that you shared, but looks like you show me a thing or two. Blessings, Sis😃!
I just wish it would sync my multi cam clips. They’re always grouped into One angle spaced hours apart 🤦🏻♂️ then I have to manually assemble the angles.
I got a PC and I use Filmora, from Wondershare well nice video as all videos. I see you doing random stuff and yet I still like you thanks to your book. In a way would you love to go to Colombia? Take vet Justine you are very beautiful! Miguel
Hey ijustine i am new subscriber nd i am using i phone 13 now i should go for 14 pro max if yes then which color is better graphite gold nd deep purple plz answer
Wow iJ! This is so cool! If i'm correct, you have an editing tutorial that we can purchase somewhere right? I would like to take a look at that! I mean, i can do a little bit of video editing (with FCPX) and i also own compressor. I still have the 2019 Mac Pro though. But it was a high cost that i don't want to give up on it. I would like to buy the Mac Studio but my Mac Pro has 16-cores with 96gb RAM. So i'm good on that front. Only downside is my GPU which is the W5700X. Though it's enough for what i'm doing at the moment i guess!
I know it’s been a year since you posted this but get a M1 or an M3 Pro MacBook Pro you won’t regret it. I just upgraded from a 2020 Intel MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and it has sped up my editing so much no more freezing or lagging, when scrubbing through the timeline looking for errors.
@@brycemorgan6708 Thanks man! Really appreciate this! I paid so much for my Mac Pro, now it's more of a design piece... 😅It still does its job though for Logic Pro X. And it's okay for my Adobe suite apps like Photoshop 😀
I use the mx master 3 mouse and the magic keyboard, but…….. I also keep my left hand on a Magic Trackpad to the left of my keyboard… then I can scroll, zoom, change windows and much more…

I made a list. It is missing a few like b and CMD B because many people that edit already know those.
I don't have a CMD button on my UK Keyboard. Do you know what it is in UK?
Life saver!!!
@@andrewward2010 I looked it up. Not sure.

Try using the shortcut R for range selection. Game changer!
The intro is back! 😃😊❤️🖤💙💜💕💞✨
For adding audio key frames my favorite shortcut is option K
I love the "R" Key (Range Select) It's my goto shortcut!! (both iMovie and FCP)

Hi what graphic card u use
0:44 That’s a lie. I used Epidemic Sound for a project and a few weeks later she used the exact same soundtrack.
Does anyone know when macOS Ventrua comes out
Thanx!
It was a lot and quick
Where is the 14pro review???
Command and X instead of reaching for the delete key 👌
