For 8 years I’ve gone to the color board THEN added the wheels...can’t believe I never knew you could change the default🤦♂️🤦♂️ THANK YOU TYLER
Same!!! lol It was a total face palm moment for me 😂
Bruhhhhh. I should've watched this video a looonnggg time ago
same😅
By the way, the blue and green colours on that hill are popping! They are wonderful 😻
for reals lol
This was incredibly helpful. I used to edit a few things some years ago before starting my 4-year-long photography studies (but was seriously a noob in colour correction back then) and your step-by-step tutorial seriously helped reduce the frustration of not managing video colour correction as well as I do with photographs.
Tyler, thank you. I’ve been making films for years new and I’m ashamed to admit how wrong I’ve been in the grading process but I’m so glad I know that now. This is the best grading tutorial I’ve ever seen and you actually explain the “why” of your methods and it helps immensely! You’re the man - happy new year!
Just found you on YT and have to say thank you for being so informative without wasting the viewers time with unnecessary long intros. Perfect delivery and clarity. can't wait to watch more. *subscribed*
Thanks for this video Tyler! I always find that the best way to learn is by seeing exactly what pros are doing. It gets to a point where you can observe and take away the tips that would work best for your own workflow. Happy 2021!
Just right here patiently waiting for Tyler to drop a whole FCPX workflow masterclass. Best tutorials all around on youtube. No nonsense and the colors are so elegant 🙌🏻
I have been editing professional work for many years within FCPX and I found this tutorial insanely helpful. Im impressed how you use certain tools to get such a natural look. Thanks for sharing this.
Tyler this is a really great refresh on the color tools in FCPX 10.5 and I learned some new things that I didn't know before like setting default color tools. Your Log LUTs look really good on the footage too 👏🏼
Ha just posted about Color Finale... nice to see you here Denver!
I've been using FCPX for three years and learned several things today that blew me away. Thanks Stalman. new sub
I'm a Davinci user but still watched because I enjoy your content Tyler! Happy New Years to everyone :)
Wow, this was exactly what I needed to level up my editing skills. Thank you.
Been editing on fcp forever and just learned that the ORDER the color effects are applied makes a difference. Thank you.
Awesome Tyler! This was so valuable since I just got an a7siii and now filming my classes in slog3! Still so much to learn! Thank you!
Wow! The best video on color grading in FCPX period, and I have watched a lot.
Been using FCPX for years and I learnt so much from this video, very well put together and easy to follow.... now lets see if I can get my head around C-log 🤯... Just switch to Canon, so this video has really helped.
Hi Tyler - Everything about this tutorial is so great - thank you for making it. Apart from the content being so great, I really apreciate your delivery and presentation style. You move at pace which just so refershing - if you miss somthing you can easily pause. Its just a masterclass in how to do a youtube turorial thanks
Super useful video and very well put! Went through every minute over and over like studying for an exam. Learnt some important stuff! Thanks so much Tyler :)
This is going to help so much with my colour grading going forward, I just normally slap on a LUT that I've found to work on most of my footage and make little tweaks to it. Didn't know about a lot of the things mentioned in this video! SUBSCRIBED!!
Thanks! Really liked the tip about pulling back the saturation in the mids to get a more cinematic feel!
Superb video. I remember a couple of months ago I was so sure you had uploaded THIS exact video before and I looked and looked for it to no avail. Happy new year Tyler, may 2021 brings you lots of joy
Currently a master ninja of LumaFusion and on the beta testing team. I honestly love it as an NLE. It just seems so intuitive to me to be able to touch the screen or use the pencil while having the other hand on the keyboard using shortcuts. Suffice to say, I do wish LF had some more of the deep dive adjustments like FCP (or PP or DR). I'm strongly considering making the move into FCP and your videos are by far the easiest to understand and listen to. VERY well done, Tyler. Thank you for taking the time to go through all of this. I've save this Playlist for educational purposes.
You're the best... I've been watching your videos since yesterday.
All the information in a clear and visual way, please keep it up... I could watch this for hours
Hands down the BEST colour grading video I've watched. Thank you so much!
This is good for folks who have some experience already but a lot of new users want a quick and dirty way to get the best look.
Terrific video and explanations. I've watched 3 or 4 other videos on color grading and so far yours is the best and easiest to understand 👍
Simply amazing tutorial! Am a newbie with video editing, working on a project right now with some not so well filmed footage, this tutorial is very very helpful! Thank you so much Tyler, will reach out to you if I have questions
I am searching for that from many days, Now I finally find your video that really helped me alot, Thanks for your support. We need you please continue to make videos on your channel, Have a good day.
As a relative newB to FCP, I never understood color grading, or had any methodology. Finally this video has given me a good starting point. Thanks!
Very nice! I will be rewatching this multiple times! Great work.
I'm sooooo glad I re-watched this video. Ever since I bought my Canon R6 (about 2 years), the first thing I have always done when importing into FCP is select the Canon Log 3 --> BT.709 conversion LUT in the 'Info' tab with the Camera LUT drop-down. I've only just realised / discovered that by putting the conversion AFTER my adjustment layers I can get so much more out of the DR I gained by shooting LOG in the first place. I can't believe I have been getting this wrong in my workflow for so long and very glad I re-watched this video. As a small mark of my gratitude I shall now go and purchase your CLog3 conversion LUT to try in my workflow. Thank you.
Adjustments before the LUT blew my mind!
Very nice! Thank you for this
I love how this is all in FCPX, and not using Color Finale etc
Love this, I've been looking for that Colour wheel default setting for ages.
Man, we've been bing watching your videos like crazy! Great content and you're master of your craft! Thank you for your time and effort on making such great content! - Jaelan
Amazing video!
Crazy good video. I don't shoot log but I never understood the RGB overlay and was blown away how much better my footage looked when using the color wheels and matching the three lines in the overlay.
This is probably the best and most helpful tutorial on FCP grading I've seen. Thanks so much, Tyler!
This is probably the most helpful video for me right now. Honestly, I would become a patron, if you had a page. Your content is super helpful! Would you maybe consider a video where you go through different shot scenarios and how you set your camera settings, to get exposure and everything? Because that's like still one major thing I'm struggling with getting a consistent look when I'm shooting a project outside throughout the day when the sky is changing and matching that with maybe some indoor shots. To me that is really hard to get it to match right and I'm not sure how to nail it consistently like you Tyler.
the best colour grade tutorial on the tube hands down!
Wow, I'm new to the world of color grading, and this is incredibly helpful. That being said, it's a bit complex, so I'll be watching this multiple times for sure. Thanks!
I watched half this video 9 months ago .. ignored most of the info. Came back, and man if I had listened to all the things you had said a lot of my client work would looked a lot better! Thanks for the great tutorial!
Dude, great video! I watched it a few times because I haven’t used your workflow recommendations before and it’s like breaking a bad habit. My colors were wayyyyy off so hopefully some of this knowledge will pay off in my videos.
And the hits just keep on coming. So much info here 👍🏻
