WOW that explanation of hue vs hue, hue vs sat was life changing! I never used that because I just didn’t know and now I finally know how to change the color of just one area easily using that eye dropper!! This will help soooo many of my frustrations I’ve had with color grading up to now. Thank you!!! Can’t wait for part 2
Nolan is the teaching king!!! Seriously, 4 years later I’m still rewatching your tutorials so I can continue to level up my videos!! Thanks for your more advanced RUclips help!! 💙
This has been one of the most amazing color grading tutorials I've ever seen! Great way of using sample videos that uses usual picture profile which made is easier to follow, especially for beginners like me! Thank you!
Really good video man, I learned a lot! I've been putting off learning colourgrading for a while now 1. because I didn't think I was going to be good enough 2. I thought it would be tediously long and 3. It's always 20+ min videos with the risk that you may not learn anything. But this has been super super helpful and I've learned loads!
I'm new and still on baby steps😂 So I have no idea what you are talking about but I know it will help me once I graduate!😂 For now I'm just worried about content and using my phone. I do add a little bit of brightness when the video is dark but that's just about it. Thank you so much for this, it sounds too good. Something I will grow in definitely. Good luck to all us new RUclipsrs in the house! Thank you "think media", you always have our best interests at heart.🙏🏽💕 God bless everyone!🙏🏽
You guys have taught me so much about the content creation game! I feel like I can speak intelligently to what I’ve learned and even teach others. THANK YOU!
I've purchased FCP lessons from others. For some reason, your color grading tutorials are much easier to understand. And even I can afford the FREE price!
This is exactly what I needed! I’ve been using the color board and not really liking how my videos come out but the Hue vs Hue and Hue vs Sat is a game changer! 🙌🏼
Your videos are amazing as always, you know just how to teach for beginners who have no knowledge about these topics. Short, easy and straight to the point. I learned everything about cameras, setup, lighting etc from you guys and I just started my own channel, thank you so much for all your help in this journey. I really can't thank you enough
Thank you!! I’ve been using Final Cut Pro for a while and just used the color board and wasn’t happy with it. So glad I found this video to explain the other color tools in FCP!
thank you very much .. its been long time since i watch such comprehensive and detailed tutorial please keep going with your good work.. people like my self need such knowledge
Thanks. Great video. But unfortunately those of us who are colour blind just can’t begin to mess with colour grading! Seriously, green skin tinges would be a very real possibility. Any thoughts or tips on managing this? It is likely to be something that affects a lot of your viewers. I have really struggled with lighting and correction for this reason.
Wow! Ya hit another one out of the park! I've always been afraid of Color Grading/Correction because it didn't take much to mess it up and then I didn't know how to reverse it. I have watch several of these kind of FCP Color videos and they always went over my head. So thank you for explaining how to do this and you made easy to understand.
I truly appreciate the amount of work and effort you put into these videos, your videos have helped me get up and running today. I can't wait to see what I end up being able to do with the lessons that I learned in your vid! keep up the good work!
Premiere Pro is my go to NLE but really isn't great for colouring. Look into DaVinci Resolve, there's a free version (and paid). It offers so much more in regards to colour correction/grading.
Adobe creative cloud has a great tutorial on all premiere pro topics and has footage to download so you actually follow along with the tutorial. If this doesn’t answer your specific questions about color Grading in Premiere let me know as there are some tutorials that are easy to follow along with. Hope this helps.
Bro! This video is about to help me make so much money! I really needed this info and the way you explained it all is giving me the confidence to really make things happen! Thank you 🙏
Thank you for the informative video. Color grading has always been a bit of a rabbit hole thing for me. Easy to spend a LOT of time with it and end up wishing I didn’t
I could literally marry you. 😩 Thank you guys so much for sharing this info with everyone. I’m a total newbie and haven’t been able to post videos yet because I couldn’t fix the color after the stupid hdr to sdr problem. So appreciative!
Excellent video. I enjoyed it. However at the end part two does not pop up, we were told we couldn’t click on the second video listed at the end… And just to let you know it’s not there. I will be searching another way to find it. Again, great stuff.
I'm barely getting into editing video and color gradating is really intimidating, anyway, this video made it really simple to understand and to start practicing, thank you!

Did you ever make a part 2 with s-log footage?
I can’t find the part 2 more advanced color grading with video you spoke about. Please let me know if you made it.
magnetic timeline still annoys me - I use the gap clip method to make it behave

White balance, adjusting, and grading with LUTs can really change how professional videos look!

This stuff is priceless every day.
I honestly love how FCPX has this built in natively, so I won't have to install any additional software. Anyone else feel the same?
no
Premiere also has it built in, it’s pretty industry standard tbh
I've been using Final Cut for over 10 years, but I have learned so much from watching your videos. Many thanks. 👍

Scopes might help. Using the vectorscope and waveforms can help, and don't necessarily require you to even see any colors at all in them to use.
This video is pure gold. Made such a harrowing topic so accessible. Much appreciated.
The color in my video just got instantly better. Appreciate the video!
