As a new RUclipsr watching your videos everyday atleast for 3 hours to improve my editing . I have tried many software for editing including From Adobe .But for me i found FCPX is best of all and easy to use . Why i watch your videos ? Because on the internet i didn't find any better tutorials in FCPX than yours one . Thanks for great tutorials . Could you please make a tutorial on how to edit for Tiktok and Instagram? Thanks and Regards Furkan Bangladesh
Although I am not a native English speaker, your smooth voice and slow speaking made me feel very comfortable here. It became very easy to understand about color range balance etc. in Final Cut Pro. I bow to you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
To be honest, this could be the best free tutorial for the whole color correction & grading for FCPX out of so many videos I have watched. Thank you for the effort!
Thanks! Sitting here with 28TB of wildlife footage I filmed in Africa to edit is a bit daunting - but I'm now a bit more confident that I can do basic CC now ;-)
Bloody Hell...first Steven now Mark! After all these years. I cant wait to see what Mark has got to say after just finishing an excellent tutorial from Steve.
I rarely leave comments under videos but yours, really, is really clear and well explained. You master the subject and your presentation is perfect. You taught me something about colors of new iphone. I would have liked watching your video before editing my last one. This would have allowed me to understand why the iphone footage was really overexposed. Good continuation...
There are so many tutorials on RUclips, you guys are always SOLID from start to finish. I always walk away much wisher and armed with new tools to create a great production. Thank you so much.
WOW! I have been trying to understand color correction for over a year. I have been watching so many different videos by different instructors and it only made me more confused. I started watching you'll channel last night and I have learned more in 2 hours than a whole year of RUclips videos. Thank You
This was a great, no, a GREAT tutorial! After 10 years of rather intensive use of FCPX I hardly knew anything about the various curves, you explained it so well! Thanks!
It's incredible Ive used FCP off and on since the early pre FCP X days and while Ive tinkered with colour correction using the now defunk Apple application Color Ive never quite understood it or got it till now. Mark's expiation has fully illuminated that internal colour correction bulb for me. That exemplifies the Ripple Training approach for me. No nonsense hard fact and good information presented in an easy way to follow.
This was amazing. I didn't realize how much I could learn in an hour. I feel much more confident in my color grading abilities. This is by far one of my weaker skills as an editor!
Mark, this was a fantastic video! You are a real Master in explaining this stuff. I learn something new every time. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Really a great (less then an) 1-hour tutorial which breaks down Color Correction and Grading in a few simple steps. Any beginner in FCP can and will benefit from it enormously. As all users of FCP 😀 Thanks for putting this one together and sharing it, Mark! 🙏
I second all the kudos: Great; Amazin; Fantastic. I'll refer to this video repeatedly until I master everything in it. Thank you so much for giving it to me.
Great video guys. Although I am familiar with most of the stuff , there were some new approaches, always handy to see other people deal with things. Thanks for sharing, great to be on your channel.
Awesome. This was a nice refresher to your original Color Correction Class!!! I go back to that every once and a while. This again, was well worth the watch!
OMG, I just found your channel and subscribed because this is the first color correction video that truly helped me understand some of the features of color correction in FCP that I never could quite grasp before, (even though I've been editing for years)! Thank you!!
My brain is exploding with possibilities now. I clicked on this hoping to learn a trick, a morsel of knowledge. In stead I got a buffet, a banquet of color I never knew I needed so badly. Thank you! Now to go try it out...😁
Seriously. For some reason I like this guy so much, I can't tell why. He has logic inside what and _how_ show me and say. He has a style. I like it! It's very good and rare in this increasingly filthy, shit-inflated and doomed world that we've managed to put together so nicely on this miserable planet. I guess it shows that I don't often throw around the fact that I "like" someone or that I "like what they do". This is because I am an "optimistic realist". You know there is a saying in Central Europe that _"We are not pessimists, we are realistic optimists"_ A version of this fuels my "engine" and kills my brain cells, drive my actions, this is the brain I got. Apropo, speaking of which, a joke: What does the pessimist say?- _"Oh well, it can't get more worse than this is..." But what does the optimist say: _"Oh boy.. believe me it can! :)"_ But in a word: I like it
Thank you Mark! I hope Apple updates FCPX soon again, enhancing a little bit more these tools, especially those HSL sliders which are almost impossible to grab haha. Cheers from Argentina! Come back some day!
Great stuff, Mark! Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this subject and for letting us watch your workflow. I'm definitely taking away some ideas on how I can improve mine now.
Quick question about skin tones... with that first shot, after masking face I noticed you used the global instead of mid-tones to adjust color & saturation, often times I'll use mid-tones... does it matter, could you go either way depending on the shot, etc... or am I approaching the wrong way? Thanks in advance for your help and for another awesome video... have gained so much insight about our craft over the years from you guys, not to mention the best and easiest to use plugins EVER!
Ima be honest I hate watching long videos even a 15min video I’m like nope next.holly cow em I glad I watched it so much information some aéreas I did have to fast forward maybe because I was already past learning that but great video.
I asked in your previous video if LUTs can be done successfully with 8-bit. I'd like to purchase your class but don't know if it's even worth it if LUTs shouldn't be done. Really looking forward to your answer!
Guys, do you know a way to change text in motion like 'warp' in Photoshop (if there is a possibity) . So stretch it in different directions. To make it blend better with something the text is stuck on to. Thanks in advance
@@markspencer3104 Thanks. The way I do it now is creating the text like I want it in PS and then save it as JPG. Import it in FCPX and track the BG for the text and put the JPG on it (bit of scaling and positioning and it's okay. Sounds a lot of work but it is second nature for me. I was only wondering if Motion had a hidden way to do it. Thanks for your early response.

Thanks for sharing. Very useful, that's why I bought your Final Cut Pro 10.7 Core Training recently .

Thanks for the tutorial, can't wait to try your suggestions!
I just learnt more in the past 60 minutes than I have in weeks of watching other videos on RUclips!
Incredibly helpful, THANK YOU

If a person is sunburnt/quiet red - is the skin tone line still an accurate gauge?
@@roamingyak Yes
Thank you for the contribution!

As alway’s, Mark, fantastically informative. Thanks!
Thanks! My only complaint is that your mouse pointer was often hard to follow. So highlighting it would help that!

You can use either. The mids is generally preferred b/c that's where skin tones fall -

Hi. Is there a need to use the color finale plugin in 2022? Are there functions that cannot be repeated simply in the final cut?
I asked in your previous video if LUTs can be done successfully with 8-bit. I'd like to purchase your class but don't know if it's even worth it if LUTs shouldn't be done. Really looking forward to your answer!
LUTs will work best on 10-bit footage.

To make it blend better with something the text is stuck on to.

There's no mesh warp functionality in Motion - try using Pixelmator Pro.
