I have probably watch scores of videos and tutorials on color grading. This is the first one I've watched where I understood everything and feel like I can color grade all my footage from previous videos. Literally felt my brain unlock. Thanks! Great video!
Thank you! I didn't realize that Final Cut color grading had such a broad professional scope of color grading. I was only using a fraction of what it can do.
At 3:49 I stopped for a thumbs up and finding out this has just been posted and only been seen for 40 times.. This is a great tutorial! .. pressing play again.
Your video is underrated. I watch many videos about grading on final cut and your video stopped my searching. You understand the issues and give the right answers for my all problems. Thank you
Mega thanks for clear and step-by=step process. I am new to this and was frustrated using LUTs and not getting it. After this video, in 5 minutes, I was able to get the accurate color (filmed in Clog3). Thank you very much!!
Honestly started learning davinci resolve a week ago and when it comes to colouring fcpx doesnt come close am so glad I started to learn it...fcpx is like imovie compared to davinci seriously
OMG thank you so much for this information. I am transitioning from Adobe Premier Pro to FCPX and im not really knowledgeable when it comes to color grading which i can safely say almost zero. this video gives me an understanding on what is color grading, the process and how to do it in FCPX. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I will recommend your video to my friends in the same boat as mine.
Wow with your cinema grade because I’m using the m1 pro, I typically put the custom lut above all else and then do the exposure and everything and they always typically look great. I may try this definitely interesting
this video is very helpful and excellent service and great experience video review and nice explanation with all proses step by step and thinks for sharing this video think you so much for you..
It took me a very long time to understand the order to set the wheels and HSL in the way that resolve does it. I appreciate you giving that piece of information because it was really frustrating
color grading is our favorite editing process, it's always great to know others' processes so we can get some insights and apply them to ours too, congratulations on the video!😉
Very professional and succinct presentation. As good as it gets. I especially loved how you superimposed the video over the waveform scope to show how it worked! Superb.
Can you further explain the Luts inputs and outputs? Specially when working with RAW footage and how it interacts with the color conform tool in HDR libraries/proyects
Many thanks for this video! I’ve seen many helpful videos related to coloring but this one’s the most complete and clear guide I have ever watched so far. Cheers man!
Hi mate. Thanks for always teaching us how to do these things and helpings us all improve. I love making little videos only for myself but i have a terrible time when it comes to colours as im colour blind. Is there anything i can do to make it easier? Like Ai or any other suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you gavin.

this video is amazing man thank you so much for putting it together, I’ve seen several other videos on color grading but the way you break things down just makes it super digestible/ easy to learn.
Would be great if you talk about that cinematic look that travel filmmakers get on their videos, things like Bloom or Halation and stuff like that that makes their videos look so high quality

WOW, what a great video. Thanks for sharing this. I appreciate the short and clear explanation of color grading basics in FCP. I'm sure this video will get tons of views, you deserve it. This video should be a shortcut in every FCP user's desktop. Nice job.
Thanks.very cool and and informative.I still want to know I still don’t see ‘ drive’ in custom LUT.these are in the lut for me #recently #choose custom LUT #reveal in folder ..just these are showing in my custom LUT.can you pls tell me why and how to fix it?
After looking at so many videos, I have finally found the right one. To the point and precise. Please keep up the good work! You have my gratitude... Cheers!
Now you can put the LUT for a piece of footage into the information panel. Does this mean the LUT is applied at the end of the effects or before the effects? You can't tell by looking at the order of the colour effect modifiers because it does not appear in this list. Many thanks.
Thank you for sharing! This is a well explained video. 👏🏽👏🏽

Hello thank you so much. Do you have some idea what to do when we are shooting yoga for example 20 or 60 minutes and the sun is getting stronger and exposure too SO the film si matching whole time. thank you:)
Excellent contribution friend, the explanation is absolutely clear and consistent, it helps me a lot with this information, since I really needed it, thanks, color grading is our favorite editing process, it is always good to know the processes of others to be able to get some ideas and apply them to ours too, congratulations for the video!
Question: You used Hue vs Hue to correct the skin tones, only. But if the skin tones were off, doesn't that mean the white balance for the entire image was off? By using Hue vs Hue, wouldn't that correct the white balance for the skin tone but leave the rest of the image off-balance? If I'm misunderstanding this, then I'm not sure what would make the skin tones off but leave the rest of the image properly balanced.
