I would like to know how to mask a walk person in Final Cut Pro. and also would like to know what you use and how you do it when you mask something in a thumbnail.
@@nolanmolt already finished one video! it took me an entire day to get plugins and learn how to add things but I think once you already have an editing background its just a matter of learning where things are
It's literally content like this that makes me wonder how RUclips can possibly be free. THANK YOU - this video was so incredibly helpful! I've only been using FCPX for about a year, and this is extraordinarily helpful and well-taught! (Can I use any more exclamation points in this comment? YES!!)
ive recently started a podcast and ive been working woth audio my whole life and thats easy to me now but the video editing was something different and your channel has helped me a lot bro
I LOVE this Final Cut series! You're making it so easy to learn how to do effects. There's so much to learn in Final Cut and this definitely makes it a little more attainable to make high-quality videos.
Haha oh man...I’ve been grouping and adding key frames and a ton of unnecessary things ha to get the text swoosh effect 😆 was so proud of figured out key frames but I could’ve just used the slide in effect 😆 always learn something new thanks for sharing! 🙌🙏😎🇨🇦
I have tried FCPX but I've stopped using it because it uses up so much of my storage. I was using premiere pro for over 10 years but just recently started using DaVinci Resolve and I still can't believe it's available for free. Your tips are making me want to give FCPX another try though...
@@NursesToRiches I create a new library for each video and within that Library a new project for each type of content. 1 for YT video, 1 for Reels or shorts etc. That way I can use all the footage from that one shoot to repurpose content across different platforms and cross promote my channel.
The third effect is cool. Is there a way to make it copy-paste-able? What happen if instead of 3-frame long object, you use create a key frame of the position every 3 frames? It moves between positions 'gradually' instead of choppily but I think 3 frames is still a short time so the effect still holds.
It takes time to learn, that’s for sure. A video like this is probably more so meant for a beginner to come back to. They find an effect to try out, and then slowly go through the video, pausing it, and implementing it into their edit!
Very helpful! I was looking for help with your first segment, the "text pop ups". I've purchased so many title plugins, but all I wanted was what you showed here done in FCPX's included custom title. Live and learn. 😊
Incredible tutorial, Nolan! Practical, clear, and entertaining. Cannot thank you enough for putting out such valuable content. Excited to put some of these editing tricks in to play.
Thank you so much for this. I am just switching to Final Cut Pro from iMovie and was looking for things that would help take my video editing to the next level and this is just fantastic! Thank you so much! :)
This was all so so helpful!! I was having the hardest time getting my text to slide back out in my latest video. I eventually gave up and put in a cross dissolve 🤦🏻♀️
Nolan, can you do a tutorial on aestehic style video editing? Like where to get graphics and best fonts and special effects? I know that is prob not high on your to-do list lol, but just throwing that idea out there :)
Awesome. My favorite was the blur (where you show the masking)! The Ken Burns effect is also a great subtle touch to add some visual interest. I made the jump from Premier Pro to FCPX and it's been a HUGE time saver. Thanks for sharing.
These are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 !!! Thanks Nolan! Going to start using so many of these. The first one with the text is such an easy way to make a talking head video look way cooler.
As always a great tutorial. The tips are so fantastic for those of us without the time to explore and learn through trial and error. You guys deserve all of your success!!
Wow! This is great stuff! I’ve been gradually learning FCP tricks to make my guitar lesson vids look better. I’m going to be able to use some of these effects in my vids right away. Thanks for this!

Film maker is also a pretty good tool to use aswell and it's free
@@wayneking9997 thx... is that to use on Windows or MAC?
I think windows but I know you can use it on android phones too
use the final cut trial and after it change the date of the mac when you start final cut.... free😍
Kinemaster is also great on your phones and ipad

If you edit from an external hard drive and house your cache there as well, that will help with the storage issue. 😀😀
