More often it’s a pre existing health issue that the rider is unaware of. I saw rite in front of me this exact same thing at a different park where a lady returned to the station unconscious. She passed away that same day and they found that she had an enlarged heart that had ruptured during the ride. I rode this coaster the day before. This coaster is amazing but VERY powerful. Sadly, just based upon the numbers, there will be deaths at all amusement parks. This IS a great park. Great rides, great staff, and the cleanest I have ever seen. Nevertheless, this is a sad event.

Like of course we all want to ride voyage but what happened was a pretty dire situation and I respect that holiday world kept the ride closed for the night. I have been in a couple of car accidents myself and getting on some of these rollercoasters is almost like being in a car accident. I have to know what body parts to guard before riding them. The way they twist and turn can cause harm to your brain, neck, back, arms and lower extremities. Even though thrill rides can be fun and exciting they can also be very dangerous. People be careful and know your limitations. I feel sad for that poor lady and her family.

Ride engineers are very dedicated to their craft and they have a good understanding of what’s safe and comfortable for most riders to handle. That being said, many rides can be rough and if you have certain medical conditions or are pregnant it can become a dangerous experience.
I was working in a giftshop when it happened. It was the candy shop next to the Voyage. I saw the emt car come in and didnt know what happened. It wasnt until I looked it up where I found the truth. Rest in piece
