The great thing about these Star Wars commentaries is that I don’t need my own reference footage because the entire original trilogy is apart of my permanent memory.
I just love listening to these guys talk about star wars. They might not be canon junkies like me because they’re busy and can’t read all the new stuff, but their passion and appreciation give me a fuzzy feeling
I just made a cool connection i've never made before; that vader respects boba fett bc he's a jango clone like rex and the rest of the clonetroopers were
I love Rick just watching the film, not adding to the discussion, just enjoying the masterpiece.
I'm literally watching this right now! What are the odds? Wait don't tell me.
I saw all 8 episodes on opening day and love them all,.....yes im old!!
Awesome to hear 👍👍 👍👍👊👊👊👊👊.
"and love them all,"
moron
Im happy for you! I saw them all opening as well (although for 4-6 it was the rereleases in the 90s). Sadly, I did not like 8 :( All the others I loved though :D
Have a great day!
All 8?! Wow!!!
@@firstname4337 You called someone a moron because they like a movie you don't. Think about that.
Them talking about how Yoda's age vs child or adult unknowingly predicted The Child in Mandalorian lol
I just saw Empire again in a theater played by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. "Star Wars in concert". It...it was beautiful.
As part of the 501st Legion I can confirm we have guys that cosplay the ice cream maker guy every SDCC for the parade.
I really enjoy all of the Star Wars movies, but this one is definitely my favorite!
I can listen to these guys talk about Star Wars all day. Lets get a Star Wars podcast started!
I don’t care what people say about the new trilogy. I love Star Wars and I will always love it. The Force is forever, for ALL generations.
I didn't despise the Force Awakens but it felt like a New hope remake. As for the Last Jedi it was mostly trash. I hope the Rise of Skywalker makes up for it.
@@Rian-zf7ye See and I disagree with you there lol, 1 was bad, but I'd sooner rewatch it over 7 or 8
star wars was never high end art, deep or anything like that, it makes me surprised howmany people rip into the new movies for not being masterpieces.
fucks sak ethere's people who even like the boring ass prequels
Something I've always found interesting about this movie is how technically speaking it's the only one where Vader's the main villain.
I’ve noticed that too! And boy, does Vader own it-he unquestionably earns his spot as one of the best movie villains in history in this film.
VADER DOWN is one of my favourite star wars comics/books to date highly recommend if ya think the hallway scene was something
You know, considering that the Snowspeeders are actually just normal speeders the Rebels adapted for the cold, it’s odd that I can’t recall seeing them outside of Hoth until the Mandalorian trailer.
Return of jedi is my favorite of the trilogy too
❤
It's not my favorite but I love the Ewoks. I know they take a lot of heat, but screw that. Anything's better than f***ing Jar-Jar! Plus it ended the trilogy happily and neatly.👽🤗
I went to see Empire when it was re-released for its 40th Anniversary; the downside was it was during the pandemic, and it had a very limited run.
Despite that, it still brings back so many memories to me from when I was 10 years old. It’s as awesome now as it was then.
Just watched along with you guys this was great. Keep it up.
The ugnaughts removed the cuffs before they lowered Han into the freezing pit.
Even as a kid this was my favorite of the originals and my 2nd favorite movie (I used to have AOTC at 1st, same with my brother, but even then they often switched spots) now it's my favorite though ROTS and ANH often puts up a fight for that top spot and if we're also including tv shows Clone Wars is there on a 50/50 split with Empire for either 1st or 2nd place
It's interesting to see how people's favorite star wars changes as they grow older. When I was a kid my favorite was the last Jedi, but now my favorite is ESB.
Aaron: Lucas made a big donation to the Norwegian Red Cross
Also the crew: not sure which country they shot the snow stuff in
Geography isn’t America’s strong suit is it 😂😂
This was the very first movie I saw in a theater.
When they were discussing how they get jealous of the toys kids today get to play with: that was my feeling listening to Aaron talk about his lightsaber toy. That sounds amazing to have!
Yeah, but remember the 80's? Holy shit did we have some awesome toys. And no child now will ever be as excited as we were for the first Star Wars action figures.👽🤗
@@leila7132 I think they will, they are literally children experiencing it for the first time, just like generations before them. Its unique to them and that's a beautiful part of star wars. No one has it better than the other.
This is arguably the best Star Wars film made with the BEST reveal in movie history, but somehow I enjoy ROTS and ROTJ more. The Prequels mean too much for me that I don’t think anything can surpass ROTS for me as my #1.
Also, let’s start a Star Wars podcast already boys. We need that shit! I know y’all would be successful doing it.
"The Prequels mean too much for me that I don’t think anything can surpass ROTS for me as my #1. "
wow --- just wow
@@firstname4337 well i guess there are people who grew up with the prequel and didnt let the hate in the internet change their own mind like it
apparently happened with a lot of the 'younger' fans.
Hasn’t Mark Hamill said multiple times that the wampa scene was written before his accident? He said they had that scene to show that the Empire wasn’t the only threat to the Rebels
You guys should commentate all the prequel movies
That can't possibly be the best way to set up that middle mic :p
I wish they did a reaction to the saw movies, just to see Aaron’s reaction to that needle trap in the second movie
That's evil and I endorse it hahaha
They completely overdid that franchise. The first one was great because of the mind f*** element, plus the "Keyser Soze" homage in the finale. 2 was just a gore fest. Which is okay on it's own. Not following up a great film, and going from indie to big-budget never seems to work.
Aaron definitely needs to watch the Yoda arc of TCW when they get end of season 6.
I never saw the original trilogy in theaters I wasn't born yet at blindwave
Hey! They did the thing with the Wampas in a forces of destiny episode
Awesome Commentary you Guys you have the Same Love and Passion for Star Wars just like me The Empire Strikes Back Is My Absolute Favorite Star Wars Movie of All Time always has been always will be Forever👍👍 Star Wars will Always be My Number 1 Absolute Favorite Franchise of All Time Always and Forever May The Force be with You Always.
Still waiting on that ROTS commentary 👀
Same, but without the Prequel trifecta that was Eric+Shane+Aaron it wouldn’t be the same (imo)
Mythbusters did the stuff with the tauntaun, but I forget the results they got.
15:55 - 16:37
don't forget Morty's Mind Blowers
i had the they toy arron is talking about at 21:00 it was a black thing that shots disks out and you had to block it with youre lightsaber i surprised the rest of them don't remember it!
Eric, you are a beacon of star wars knowledge and knows so so so much more than me but i caught a mistake! Jeremy Bulloch is just the body of Boba Fett, the original voice actor was Jason Wintergreen
maybe in 20 years they will add commentary to the synder cut like they are on star wars!
Easily the best SW movie, the characters and plot just flow so naturally. No making characters do stupid stuff or act out of character etc. to get them where you need them, no forced 'subverting of expectations', just top notch engaging storytelling.
“I am your father” is the most famous subversion in the entire saga, but okay :P
@@gwynethmullins3221
That isn't a subversion of expectations.
It's a reveal or twist, not the same thing at all.
Also please guys since you were talking about puppetry react to the new dark crystal show on Netflix. The dark crystal: age of resistance
1:01:05 just making a reminder, move along.
sooooooo, could the rebels have used some X-Y-wings during the Hoth battle. or were they all committed in escorting the transports.
"activate harpoon .... one ...more... paaa...." [Rose Tico turns up and takes out Wedge]
34:31 THATS NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS!
Wooopwoooop
😊
1:57:25 what the FUCK shane

What happened to the rest of Harry Potter Series???
They're gradually going through various movies depending on what wins in the patreon polls. They'll eventually get around to it..
They decide to take a break to do other movies. As far as I know no more Harry Potter for the next 2 commentaries (next one is Return of the Jedi and the one after is not decided, but has no Harry Potter on the poll)
m 1:24:03
t 1:25:43
Are you guys not going to do Harry Potter anymore?
huh really Jedi your favorite? i always felt like that was the odd one out it felt a too silly it seemed to be taken in a direction to appeal more to kids whereas Empire was quite dark and mature
The Aces There’s a lot of great stuff in Jedi in the original format (not Special Edition), if you overlook the silliness. The Luke/Vader/Emperor/Yoda parts are terrific.
