    When Ben tells Yoda, "Was I any different when you taught me?", he meant when he was a youngling considering the context of the conversation at that moment was about Luke being taught the basics of the force. I don't think it was a canon problem since Yoda taught all younglings before they became Padawans.

  • @Tylermike75
    @Tylermike75 8 лет назад +15

    The scene with Luke's head in Darth Vader's mask isn't necessarily a hint that Vader is Luke's father. It could be interpreted as that, but I'm almost completely certain that it is a symbolic lesson from Yoda. If he were to strike down Vader in anger and hate, he would fall to the dark side and become just as bad as Vader (or literally the new Vader by the Emperor's side, because that is exactly what he wanted Luke to do in Jedi). It's kind of like Yoda is telling him that he is no better than Vader if he were to do that.

    • @Xesthan
      @Xesthan 8 лет назад +4

      +Tylermike75 I also like the symbolism of when Luke gets his new hand. He's makes him more like his father. When it gets shot in ROTJ, he covers it up with a black glove. In the entirety of ROTJ we can see Luke getting closer and closer to the dark side until he ultimately rejects it. This is one of the reasons why I like rewatching these. You notice something new every time.

    • @eval7952
      @eval7952 7 лет назад

      Xesthan I used to think Vader deliberately exchanged his body parts for robot parts because being a robot is more efficient, bionic arms and all like robocop. Ben kenobi also makes a comment Vader is hardly human now.

  • @philipfry352

    I know I'm super late to the party because I refuse to own the special additions so had to wait till they were on tv, so no one will probably see this...but the Rebel symbol is Galen Marek's family crest. Galen was Vader's apprentice, and when the Emperor tasked Vader with finding all the leaders of the different rebellions (because they weren't allied yet, it was just different rebellions throughout the galaxy) Galen brought them all together under the guise of uniting them, then they were all arrested. Somehow after, Galen was convinced of the evil intentions of the Empire and helped the rescue of the leaders by fighting Vader to distract him while they were being rescued. He was killed by Vader and the newly formed Rebel Alliance chose to use his family crest as their symbol in order to honor him. Super cool story.

    Watch when Luke tries to lift the X-Wing again. Yoda isn't just watching Luke fail. When he closes his eyes he's sensing what is stopping Luke from succeeding. He knows exactly what Luke is capable of.
    Yoda was litterally movie magic. An awesome character written, voiced and performed to perfection. Go back and see the behind the scenes of filming and you will understand how amazing that is considering the problems they had during the filming on the Dagobah set.

    Don't let the weakest link join the crew over half way through (the best star wars movie of all time) a video.
    John Campea, i absolutely respect how switched on you are,, but im not a big fan.

    But John Campea.... I'll tolerate you, its hard work, but i'll do it, provided you're there from the start.

    I'm rather surprised at Campea not realizing for the last 12 years that Boba Fett's voice has been replaced. Also, that belief Han was wearing a jacket or vest in the carbon freezing chamber has been debunked for just as long. In the Empire of Dreams documentary the behind the scenes footage showed that a shadow from the lighting setup was cast on Ford's shoulders causing that illusion on film. They chose to change it to alleviate the issue of the lighting continuity from shot to shot not properly matching.

    As for "replaced Emperor", I like the first replacement, which keeps the original dialogue except he says "Young Skywalker". That's the one version that DOESN'T raise the question, "Wait...Vader KNOWS Luke's name."
