    1:15:53 Thank you Ellis! I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't hate the "Be careful not to choke on your aspirations" line. It did feel like the "apology accepted" line from Empire. It may be a joke, but it's also very menacing and dark, which, to me, makes it feel like it's still in character for Vader.

    The C-3P0 and R2 thing isn't an inconsistancy.
    All we know is that Raddus has "returned to his ship". Which means its likely in orbit around the planet while the fleet assembles to leave.
    3P0 and R2 could've simply gotten onto a shuttle and gone up to the flagship just after that scene...because people are still leaving to join the fleet.

    I love how everyone else from Collider joined them at the end to watch the Vader scene. I also love how pretty much everyone is grinning from ear to ear during the Vader scene as well. Oh & don't get me wrong, every time I've watched that scene, I grin from ear to ear as well.

      Yes, they are. Not sure why you think that, but it nots hard to look up the truth. - "Jyn’s younger self is played very impressively by sisters Dolly and Beau Gadsdon. Great find, getting two talented sisters to play the role so that they look enough alike to still seem to be the same character, just at different ages."

      My question is....WHY the hype? Whatch Darth Vader against a bunch of minions that cant do shit against him is the same thing if Superman beat a bunch of baby's literally. But maybe its just me that never saw Darth Vader as a great villian as people (Star Wars fans) see. hell even the fat Majin BUU is more scary than him.

    I think the real confusion with that Jimmy Smitz scene is that we all know he mentions Obi Wan...then she says you need someone you can trust, and all of a sudden he says he trusts her with his life. It kinda throws you off cus you still think he's talking about Obi Wan. It's weird dialogue lol.

    • @Vader47000
      @Vader47000 7 лет назад

      Mon Mothma is saying you need someone you can trust to contact the Jedi. Then he says he trusts her with his life, referencing Leia. It's not confusing in the larger picture of Star Wars, but I can imagine it being confusing to some who might not be familiar with Episode IV.
      What's a bit more jarring is that they are only talking about 1 Jedi who served with Bail Organa during the Clone Wars. At the end of Episode III, Bail is aware of two Jedi (Yoda and Obi-Wan) in hiding, and neither of them really "served him." So it makes me wonder how Mon Mothma knows he has a (singular) Jedi friend. I was always under the impression that he dropped off both Yoda and Obi-Wan at their hideout planets, but given the deleted scene of Yoda going to Dagobah on an escape pod, I can accept an explanation that Yoda took an escape pod and Bail didn't know where he went, and then Bail dropped off Obi-Wan at Tatooine. So that's how Bail knew where Obi-Wan was, and at some point he casually mentions this to Mon Mothma?

    I think the film's score got more likable the more I watched the movie/listened to the score. True, I obviously liked the original tidbits that were sprinkled into the film, but I can still tell you the film's main motif for the Rebellion, and it sounds like a somber hope with a hint of desperation.

      I know right? The darth vader scene is the only reason why people love the movie. I am not taking the bait! With or without the vader scene this movie would still be shit. I have seen vader do way cooler shit in the other movies. For example the scene where he wipes out all the separatists on mustafar in revenge of the sith. That was way more badass then the scene in rogue one and much longer too.

    My thought on the stormtroopers "armor" is that its not really armor, but they use it for the fear factor. The Empire was trying to control people with fear. People would get intimidated when a garrison of troopers are coming down your street.

    Well the thing is in Galens message, he tells all he knows. He put a weakness in the CORE REACTOR. That is all he sabotaged. The structural plans were supposed to help them find a way to hit it and destroy it. The one in a million shot is because of the exhaust port they found. None of that is degraded by the weakness.

    The Long Walk. How much does a star ship weigh? Perhaps that was the closet spot of ground that could support the weight of the landing ship. Sure star ships have repulsor lifts, but if the ship is powered down, perhaps the repulsors are powered down too.
    In Empire, the walkers were probably delivered by drop ship to a secure Ice shelf. The rebels probably established their base behind hidden crevasses, ice shelves, and frozen lakes that would not support troop ships or drop ships. The rebel base was protected from fire from space by the shield generator, but the walkers could pass through the shield to destroy the generator, much like the shield in the clone wars movie. The walkers could navigate the hidden ice crevasses.

    I dont think Rogue is bad by any means but I do have problems with some of the dialogue and pacing of the movie. Overall I think TFA was a better constructed movie, felt alot more like 1 coherent story from start to finish. I can appreciate that R1 made some bold choices, the best thing that R1 does is enhance A New Hope. I think the Tarkin and leia CGI is as good as they could possibly get it.

    • @MrCaptspaulding1
      @MrCaptspaulding1 7 лет назад +1

      Tom Gillard I like rogue more but respect this opinion and agree with the CGI, the fact it looks that good is amazing, and the tarkin actor nailed it. I actually think some aspects of rogue one are better than awakens as a film, like the cinematography, visuals and action and story

    • @CALISUPERSPORT
      @CALISUPERSPORT 7 лет назад

      TFA was definitely paced better. Unfortunately you had to read Catalyst to get the full effect from Rogue One. But it's still my favorite ever Star Wars movie.

    • @TomGillard
      @TomGillard 7 лет назад

      As far as Catalyst goes, I read it albeit after I saw Rogue but upon reading it I can totally see, yeah, if you didnt read Catalyst going in to Rogue, those deaths dont mean that much and for the first few minutes its like wtf is going on

    • @CALISUPERSPORT
      @CALISUPERSPORT 7 лет назад

      yeah, except maybe Saw Gerrera (if you watched Clone Wars). But then it's pretty tough to get attached to that many characters within 120 minutes. I try to think of a movie that pulled it off, probably Fellowship of the Ring but only a couple important characters died there.

  • @Dousch

    "And it lost to the Bears."
    Harloff crushing it with the Bo Jackson jokes.

    Question, when Jyn Erso was watching her dad holo video , is there an explanation for the higher resolution. I get that it should be higher than the prequels but ep4 is like 240 resolution vs Rogue 1 1080p

    I don't think James Earl Jones sounds different so much because of age, but because his parts were likely recorded digitally vs the original trilogy was certainly to tape. There can be a marked difference in how a voice sounds between the two.
