It's refreshing to see a group of friends who had soo much fun watching this movie. People take Star Wars waaaaaay to seriously these days. I love the original trilogy which is wonderful and fun, but it's also corny and simple as well.

    • @stevehashtag
      @stevehashtag 6 лет назад +14

HaHaHa! Yeah all that CGI in the original trilogy right? They used a wireframe for the Death Star attack briefing but that was it friend. The beauty of Lucas' original trilogy was the fact that they were all practical effects and looked soo good. And this is the problem. Uneducated people spewing hate either because they didn't understand something or have a desperate need to have everyone else agree with them.

Completely agree. This is how you are supposed to enjoy Star Wars: Lean back, have popcorn and a drink, forget about logic or science, and become a child again, getting mesmerised be an epic Space Fantasy.

I really liked this film, solid characters, plot, humor, and action. And I love all the references easter eggs, explanation for things that makes sense in the OT, set up for things and actions in the OT, and cameos.
Spoilers, (though why are you watching this video if you're avoiding them? xD)!
As soon as i heard Whitwar's voice and saw the metal feet, I already freaking out, which went to an eleven when my Star Wars loving friends, saw Ray Park with his inquisitor saberstaff. Can't wait to what they do with him now (pre season 3 of course). I don't really like how Solo originated, but Han definitely made it his own (enough to name his son Ben Solo).

Seconded. I thought it was great fun with some swell legends/newcanon-references. Not dabbling with existing logic of the Star Wars universe was the best thing they did, especially in retrospect thinking about the Last Jedi. Characters were great, the action set pieces were amazing at times and it didn't drag on too long. Overall probably the best Disney-SW film so far. Rogue One had better highlights but the pacing at the start cripples it a bit.

In this movie the 12 Parsecs paradox was explained at last. They confirmed that parsecs measure distance in the Star Wars Universe too. Let me explain: There is only one way to do the Kessel run safely and that path measures 30 parsecs, it is fixed. There was no way to get to Kessel alive in less distance because you had to take a shortcut through the nebula and nobody had survived that before. The shortcut that the Falcon took measured, rounded down, 12 Parsecs in distance and that was the amazing feat that the Falcon and Han did: Make the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs and survive.

I will say though that out of everyone it seemed like she was the character that was being set up the most for a sequel or an appearance in other films. I'm honestly not really interested in seeing where Han and Lando go from here but I'm VERY interested in seeing what happens to Qi'ra down the road. Very fascinating character.

This movie was so much better than I expected. Shows how much potential these movies outside the trilogies have. I can't even imagine how intense and terrifying a Maul and Vader fight would be. The one thing that would have made this movie totally perfect for me was if there was a subtle mention of Fulcrum being influential in trying to seize the fuel for the Resistance. Maybe like a communication call where one of the "Marauders" asks for Fulcrum or something to confirm that the mission succeeded.

1:20 Palps was calling on the dark side to discover the right Sith name for Anakin. I get why people think he is pulling it out of his rear, even I saw it that way, but that's not what is happening.

I nearly sithed my pants when Maul showed up, i was so surprised they had the balls to do that - I’m sure there were plenty of people who thought he was dead. I could see Solo, Boba Fett & Kenobi being a loosely linked crime trilogy with Maul as a shadowy figure in the background. Or maybe they’re setting Maul up to be a big role in the Benioff & Weiss trilogy?

Well if you remember in the EU Kenobi did actually leave Tatooine a couple of times, twice that we actually know of.
    1. To safe the supposed grandson of the emperor and take him to a ancient jedi city underneath the surface of Yavin 4.
    2. To help safe a jedi padawan from Boba Fett and inquisitors.
So it's not at all impossible to have him off world.

The next two standalone films are Fett and Kenobi, right? Maul has obvious hooks for both of them, with the Mandalorian Death Watch being part of the Shadow Collective. I just don't know if they could weave a satisfying Maul vs Kenobi film story around the Rebels story arc without retconning it, but maybe the Kenobi movie could be told from two fronts, with Maul and Kenobi both being hunted by the Inquisition or something.

I think Vader actually found out about the temple the same time as Ezra, he just asked "how have you opened the temple" because he's generally surprised a non dark sider opened it. Or he must know a second dark side user had to be present, OR he figured Ezra wouldn't have been powerful enough to open it. Its not that he knew it was there or the empires presence there would have been SO much higher guarding and investigating it for the emperor's needs

A lot of immigrants were given last names as they landed in the early 20th century, we see this in the 2nd God Father movie when little Vito comes to America and is given the last name of his village in Italy. So when Han got his last name it made me think of that scene, I have to think it was in the directors mind.

Was really great watching this review and geeking out with all the lore and possibilities opened up by this movie. The movie itself was such a fun romp through the star wars universe. Love how it brings together stuff from all the eras and clone wars and rebels in a way that makes plot sense. Lots of people are actually hating on this movie because they didn't like The Last Jedi. They should hate on the Last Jedi and give Solo an honest shot. Many are bashing it without watching it.
